someone at corporate got to him. you can tell in his commentary and tone. he's low key taking potshots. talking far less. he actually let Nantz do his intro, setup the call at the beginning of the game, etc. i bet Nantz wants to strangle him. this is Jim's show. he's the star. he didn't get where he is by not slicing a few achilles along the way. he probably has a goon squad protecting his territory.
Romo is an overzealous 11 year old who just got ungrounded from his tablet who thinks that he can make "clever" remarks that his mom & dad won't pick up on.
that said, it was nice not having him blabbering all over the broadcast the last couple games. he still has plenty of moments that remind you he's there and half sober but all in all he wasn't a net negative last night.
listening to a Charles Davis or Chris Spielman call certainly is no treat. he's probably a cut above them but calling him great is like finally breaking up with the chick who slashed your tires, burned your clothes, slapped your mom and spit in your mouth.... only to start dating a girl who cuts herself when you don't answer her texts within 11 seconds.
it's different but... still curious why people want to rub their balls all over his stubble.
