Tony Romo out for four weeks (1 Viewer)

I guess this was why some people wanted to bring in Chris Simms as a decent backup. He could have learned a decent amount of the offense by now. I don't think this will help Barber, though. Hard to run when they don't respect the pass. That being said, you have to hope it's at most 4 weeks.

Might be a good time to trade a QB to the Romo owner in your league if they are desperate. Then in 4 weeks you'll have a fully healthy Romo for the stretch run.

My broken pinkie healed in a week. This wont be longer than 4 weeks.

Wow, what a disaster!

Not only can Johnson no longer throw a deep ball, but with the way the o-line is pass blocking he is going to be a human pinata dropping back a la Drew Bledsoe from two years ago. At least Romo has mobility to avoid the rush and make a play. TO is also going to be a problem real soon now that he doesn't have a QB that can get him the ball consistently. Teams are also going to be able to stack the box more to stop Barber.

On the positive side -- at least the bye week will cover one of the four weeks although the Giants game is coming up before then.

Yeah, you're probably right, but I am not a trainer. Amazing how the NFL works, after a couple weeks people were saying how the Boys were the best team in the NFL, then they were among the best, and now, they will hope to win a couple games with Romo out.

When TO's only catching 4 passes a game, I can't see downgrading him. And since he's so good at making short passes into big plays, I think his value can actually go up here since they will be relying on the short passing game so much more.Austin and Crayton are the ones that are hurt here.I also wouldn't be upgrading Felix Jones until we hear more about the hammy.

The Cowboys will face the Rams, Bucs and Giants without Romo. If they end up going 1-2, they will be in real trouble. The NFC just got more interesting folks.

Come on, with the way Romo was getting hit back there time and time again, the Cowboys were in trouble even with him playing. I have NEVER seen Romo take that kind of punishment before...NEVER.

Can Brad Johnson still play? And can he play at the level that Romo had played before this year? Plus I think this is a major bump for the run game.
Johnson won't kill the Cowboys but he's not going to hit for 3 td's and big yardage like Romo is capable of. I agree, nice bump up for Barber/Jones.

I grant you they've had their offensive problems, especailly in the run game, but they've been scoring 30 points per game. What kind of "trouble" are you referring to?

 :lmao:

At the start of the season in my long time league, I had Brady as my QB and Romo as my Flex starter. Same thing as last year which worked very, very well. Now, I am by the grace of god at least in possession of Schaub because someone else gave up on him. Romo+Schaub was starting to look solid. Man, throw in all my WR issues (like Colston) and this year is just a throw away. Sometimes when the injury bug bites, it just doesn't go away.

Well, at least I smacked around Wheelhouse in CHUG this week. Damn him and his easy schedule. ;)

did you play the qb position a week later?

Only good news is he hasn't had his bye yet. BJ #'s wil be something like 160 1 td 2 ints. Can he throw the ball over 25 yards? I don't think so.

The trade deadline is tomorrow? Methinks if Anderson stinks tonight...Savage's phone will be ringing off the hook.
Why would that be contingent upon Anderson stinking, and who are you envisioning the Browns trading? Anyway, QB would be pretty much the most difficult position to acquire midseason and play right away in all of the NFL. I have a tough time seeing this happen, in response to Romo's injury or any other situation frankly.

I agree. Which is why I don't think this is a good thing for Barber. There weren't many holes with him in there while defenses respect the pass. Add another guy to the box with Johnson behind center, and it could be bad. I think if Johnson can keep them honest, Barber will be fine. Big IF, though.

I'm not so sure about the bump to the RB's.. We'll have to see but it sure seems like teams wil stack the line of scrimmage & force the Cowboys to pass ala what we're seeing in MN...

I also remember a guy on here saying he made a huge mistake draft day: He forgot he drafted Brady round one and selected Romo in round 3. Then when Brady got hurt he was lucky he had Romo. Now that Romo is hurt, methinks he could be a bit angry.

they'll lose to NY, but beat St L. & TB. Nothing to worry about, Cowgirl fans
Have you watched any TB games? TB looks like they have one of the best defense's in the league this year.On top of the fact that the Cowboys made Arizona look like a top 3 defense last night, the TB game is not going to be pretty.

Yep. Only move Dallas would make is for a backup/emergency qb.

Cowboys have a wk. 10 bye so I'm guessing that is where the "4 weeks" is coming from.

Out wks 7, 8, 9, 10 (bye)

Back in Week 11.

He might be out too.Hamstring troubles. No word on the extent of the injury.
I'm anxiously awaiting word as I was really looking forward to playing Jones this week against STL as a bye week replacement.
We'll keep you posted if you keep us posted. Deal?
Thanks Pal! This place is the best sometimes!(High levels of sarcasm in my first post, guess it flew over your head)

Yeah, I guess true genius tends to go unappreciated in its time. <--- That's what sarcasm looks like.

wow....when did this happen???
I think it happened on the last drive before the overtime. He had been taking a bunch of shots all day.
happened on 1st play of OT. thats why his pass to TO sucked. oh yea, and McBriar has a foot contusion suffered on the blocked punt! :lmao: looking back, if Folk would have made the chip shot FG, the 51 yarder would have won the game. no OT, no Romo, McBriar injuries. :lmao: as far as Johnson, he looked good with the 1st team in pre-season. my only concern is can the O-line keep him upright? their pass blocking is horrible right now. and for a very bland looking offense, this doesnt give them any flavor.

Nice job here guys. I'm in one league with no waiver wire just FCFS and I just dropped Chris Perry to pickup Brad Johnson. Not because I'm excited by Brad Johnson, but because his only QB is Romo!

The thing that really pisses me off is that I watched the end of the Dallas game and there was nada about Romo being hurt. I just remember being annoyed that he completely missed a wide open TO on that 3rd and 18 before the blocked punt. Should have been an easy first down and he missed him by 5-10 yards. When I first saw this thread, I was just in shock. I was thinking that I just needed to get to the playoffs because with Colston back, Braylon maybe getting back in gear, I was dangerous enough to win without Brady. Now, without my #1 scorer (I think Romo has more than Michael Turner right now) for the next 4 weeks, I will be lucky to make the playoffs.Whoever says luck has nothing to do with FF is wrong. When you miss 25+ games from what were the #1, #8 and #14 players in your league in 2007 and the #6 is Braylon Edwards, who has done diddly squat, all you can do is: :lmao: and look forward to 2009.

Got to love a place where you get called out for making a joke about previous posting trends. Guys need to take a step back sometimes and laugh a little bit more.

What a blow to fantasy teams. I am 6-0 in my money league and just lost my QB. It must be a pretty bad break if they say 4 weeks. I know QB's have taped a broken pinkie finger and played before.

Oh well roll the dice with JT or pick up Bulger or Matt Ryan.
