Sort of, and yes.@Scoresman are wraps fair game? What about breakfast sandwiches?
My guesses here include mayonnaise, olives, bacon, capers, red onionI have a one or two extreme ingredient dislikes that eliminated one or two fairly popular sandwiches.

I will most definitely melt and type of cheese on just about any type of bread and top with some dijon and go sit in the corner and quietly enjoy my sandwich
There aren’t as many sandwiches as you might think. I had to make two of them to be able to try them and get to 50.I made a list and im only in the 40s. Maybe im being too restrictive?
Why not save this for the end?Okay, I've put in way too much time on this today. And, man, this was hard and am I now hungry. I'd note I'm a fan of hot sandwiches versus cold. But, here's my top ten:
1. Torta (carne asada version) - Ideally made by some Mexican hole-in-the-wall place such as Tortas El Guero in Phoenix or Verde Lea Market in Cottonwood. I attribute about 10 lbs of the 40 lbs I'm overweight to the torta.
2. Cheesesteak - Particularly, with Cooper sharp cheese and friend onions (for the love of god, no peppers) from a place like Angelo's or John's Roast Pork.
3. Bahn Mi - Don't have a specific place in mind, but man this is such a good sandwich. It's salty, it's sweet, it's somehow filling but doesn't make you feel gross afterwards. Just so, so good.
4. Lobster Roll - Preferably from Red's. I enjoy the cold version with mayo (Connecticut style) and the hot version with butter equally.
5. Hot Italian Beef - Chicago style from a place like Portillo's.
6. Schwarma - I prefer the lamb schwarma but all versions are money.
7. Cuban - some Florida food truck version.
8. Pulled Pork - I prefer it to the Texas beef or the roast pork philly version. Any reputable Texas BBQ joint with a good BBQ sauce will do.
9. Classic Italian - It's so good every time it can't be left off any top ten list. I believe it superior to The Club.
10. Shrimp Po Boy - from Louisiana, presumably.
Honorable mentions:
Tombik Doner and muffuleta (sp?). Both delicious and a genuine surprise the first time I had either one.
Gotta mention: I don't love the Reuben, but will shout it out anyway. Obviously some good NY deli.
Guilty pleasures: Chicken parm sandwich made by some 300 plus lbs Italian guy and Sloppy Joe (actually have a local chef here in AZ that makes a killer one).
Looking forward to see where hot dog is ranked.

But then I remembered three more I forgot and they replaced them.
Don’t know if Arepes qualify but I had one in London, Camden Market, that was one of my best bites everOh I had some killer Venezuelan sandwich in Sedona a couple of months back. It was kind of like a Cuban. Worth mentioning as well.
You got this backwards buddy. Connecticut style is hot with butter4. Lobster Roll - Preferably from Red's. I enjoy the cold version with mayo (Connecticut style) and the hot version with butter equally.

The Monte Cristo is very good as an indulgence. I see it is supposed to be a variation of the French croque Monsieur. Not sure how that compares to the croque madame Brutal Penguin mentions earlier in the thread.Oooooh the NY Chop Cheese and the Monte Cristo need to be add to guilty pleasures. They don't crack the top ten and can't be eaten regularly but damn they're good.

Having the reveals be slow maximizes the discussion. Just posting the list would be fairly boring.
I haven’t started yet because I wanted Dans cheese thread to finish up and I was still tweaking the rankings.
I hate to be the one to be the one to break this to you, but shrimp, fish and oysters are meat.Being someone who doesn't eat meat, I take my cheese very serious. I won't have too many comments in the sandwich thread until the greatest sandwich ever, a grilled cheese, shows up on the list.I’m just hoping we can make moops as upset over here
Also love me some shrimp/fish/oyster poboys though
Yes i know. I hate the term pescatarian so i avoid that. Op says no for this list, although I expect a hybrid entryIs a hamburger a sandwich?
I had it at 8 but the po boys pushed it out.No Cuban sandwich??? Robbed.1. Reuben
2. Philly cheese steak
3. Grilled Salmon B.A.T.
4. BLT
5. Pulled pork
6. Fried oyster po boy
7. Fried shrimp po boy
8. Fried fish po boy
9. Crab po boy
10. Roast beef po boy
FWIW I think technically a hamburger is a sandwich but I don’t consider it one. Like if I told someone to grab some sandwiches for my fantasy draft or a day at the beach or something and they brought a sack of burgers I’d be like what the hell is wrong with you

I have a feeling your take here may be the more popular opinion but it really makes no sense to me. How is it we can grill a piece of chicken, turkey or pig and put it between two pieces of bread and it’s a sandwich but if I do the same to a cow it’s not?
