Top 50 Sandwiches - Ranked by Scoresman (2 Viewers)

#40 - Bacon Butty

Country of origin: England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The bacon butty is a British sandwich consisting of crispy bacon, butter, and either HP Sauce (a British “brown sauce” akin to steak sauce) or ketchup, all stuffed between two slices of soft white sandwich bread.

The British BLT, minus the LT. I have a British friend who made one for me telling me I would like it way better than a BLT. While I did really like it and I recommend it, he was wrong. This is a simple sandwich that requires great ingredients to be good. And use HP sauce, not ketchup.

#39 - Choripan

Country of origin: Argentina 🇦🇷

A type of asado sandwich with grilled chorizo. It is popular in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia and Venezuela. The name comes from the combination of the names of its ingredients: a grilled chorizo sausage and a crusty bread (Spanish: pan) such as a pan batido, baguette, or francés.

I randomly had one of these at the hotel café at a Westin in Cancun. It was the Argenitnian version with a chimichurri added. It was good enough to order a couple more times on the visit and is still the best Choripan I've ever had.

#38 - Bacon, egg and cheese (Breakfast Sandwich)

Country of origin: USA 🇺🇸

A breakfast sandwich served on bread, bagel, or english muffin

This covers a wide range of breakfast sandwiches including different cheeses, different types of bread, and different ways to cook the eggs. My go to is sunny side up, cheddar and bacon on a kaiser roll.

I had a little PTSD from the cheese thread so hesitated to join this one, but it seems to be going pretty well. :)

Did you at least check the final list

I did.

I mean the winner even came out to hulk hogans intro music

I was pleased with the placement of cheddar! I might be a little bit of a cheese snob, but regardless of that a good sharp cheddar would probably contend for my #1. :)

Weren’t you like a cheese lawyer at one point? Maybe that’s clouding your true feelings on American

Also I didn’t specify but my go to American is the Kraft deluxe, much better than those individual wrapped pieces

Id implore everyone who doesn’t think it’s the best cheese to give them a try
 :x

Mine is specific to bacon egg and cheese. Changes for other meats

No kaiser roll for me. This is specific to the breakfast sandwich category.

Regarding the croissant, you can make a sandwich out of a donut or a blueberry muffin, doesn't mean it's a great idea.

Was wondering where you'd put this.

When I did my top ten, I just thought there were far too superior regular sandwiches that left no room for a breakfast sandwich. However, breakfast sandwiches are so huge* for something like a brunch or pre-golf round that they have significant value. I'd have ranked the breakfast sandwich in the late teens.

*A close second to a well made breakfast burrito, which isn't a sandwich.

To be clear, all are great.

shark move is to serve on french toast @shuke

How much does shareability factor into the rankings?
I'm having a real hard time thinking of ANY circumstance where I would share a sandwich...
I'll usually coerce my wife into getting my second preferred sandwich at a place then coax her into trading halves. Technically, I'm sharing half of my primary sandwich there.
There is a cheese shop by us that makes phenomenal sandwiches that rotate every week. There are only two options each week so whenever we grab sandwiches we always do this so that we can try both of the new offerings.

Word.

Starbucks makes one hell of a sausage/egg/cheddar sandwich on English muffin. Fortunately(ish) my wife works at a SBUX and gets them for free a lot (they throw out expiring food) so I get to eat them at least once or twice a month.

The only thing better than a really good sandwich is some of a second but different really good sandwich - especially if one is hot and another is cold.

#37 - Roast Pork Sandwich
Country of origin: USA 🇺🇸

Roast pork sandwiches are a staple of numerous sandwich shops throughout Philadelphia. The bread roll is typically topped with sesame seeds and loaded with a generous spoonful of pork juices. It is then stuffed with either sliced pork roast, roast pork chunks, or pulled pork, along with broccoli rabe (or spinach), and melted cheese such as provolone.

Had this alternative to the cheesesteak at a local philly cheesesteak place. Loved it as an occasional alternative to it's steak sister sandwich.

I played a course on the out skirts of palm springs last month that had this breakfast sandwich in their cafe, I ordered one and watched the girl proceed to throw 2 pieces of bacon on a grill and crack 2 eggs and start to heat them up. It was hands down the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had at a course because it was so damn fresh, **** now I want to golf and eat

I barely ever saw sourdough bread while living in NY but it's so common here in Boise. I guess coming in from California. Not a fan. One of our favorite pizza places uses sourdough for the crust and I keep hoping they do a non-sourdough option some day. That would be great. I'm also hoping for a nice east coast semolina bread here some day. Best I've found so far is Acme Baguette. It is one of the best breads I've ever had though.

These are super simple to make at home, taste 10x better and don't cost $7 or whatever they are charging these days.

It is the best food item Starbucks offers though.....

I had their breakfast wrap this past weekend and I had to wait ten minutes for it and it was awful.

Whenever we buy a ham steak, I make sure to cut a little circle off it for ham, egg and cheese on an english muffin sandwiches.

Ham steak goes great fried up with some pierogis.

#36 - Fried Chicken

Country of origin: USA 🇺🇸

Boneless fried chicken in between two slices of bread/roll

Bread can be anything from a biscuit to a waffle. This sandwich comes in many forms and I like just about all I've tried.

Moreso than other breads I would argue that not all sourdough is created equal, but when done right I think it's the undisputed #1 bread. Acme makes phenomenal bread.

I'm getting a little more used to it but I still avoid it whenever possible. Just realized I linked the wrong Acme

I was shocked that Acme (in Berkeley) would distribute to Idaho. This makes more sense.

Oh come on, this is a top 5 sandwich and in consideration for #1. Assuming we’re considering all variants (Buffalo, Nashville hot, spicy, etc)

Spoiler : Popeyes spicy chicken will make an appearance in the future Top 50 Fast Food Items

This thread inspired me to make a bacon (turkey), egg and cheese (extra sharp white cheddar) breakfast sandwich on toasted sourdough

The reason I dont rank it higher is that I almost always choose to eat fried chicken on it's own as opposed to in a sandwich. That's going to hurt the ranking a bit.
