Over the past few weeks, I've been making moves for injured players who are at the lowest value possible, just on the hope that they will return and exceed the cost I paid. Today, for instance, I traded Michael Bush to the Darren Mcfadden owner for Pierre Thomas. A few weeks ago, I traded Johnny Knox for an injured Beanie Wells.
This is a strategy that I've rarely employed, but it's something that I am testing out this season. I'm fully expecting to have a few things backfire along the way, but I'm curious about the success level that I may have because of taking a chance on hurt players.
So, I ask this question...is buying low on an injured player a good strategy, or is it just a nightmare waiting to happen? For those of you are a bit more seasoned, what kind of success have you had with this strategy in the past?
