Your post made my day...This was just a ploy to motivate Mike Bell.
First degree isn't terrible but if that's what he has then he'll likely miss 2-4 weeks...Shanahan: Henry probably has 1st degree MCL strain pending MRIEkuban has ruptured achilles and gone for the year. Bad day for the Broncos.
OK, a little research and I found this:In the case of a first degree sprain, sporting activities should not be undertaken for about 3 weeks. For those of us who are not MD's this would mean?Shanahan: Henry probably has 1st degree MCL strain pending MRI
I didnt like the look of him walking off either. I got the same impression as you from that quick glance.seeing him walk off -- its worse than a MCL sprain IMO. damn
I was thinking the same thing, it looks worst then a sprain, I was planning on taking him at #8 in my redraft league this week, I have to rethink that, pending more news, hope it's nothing more then a sprain.I didnt like the look of him walking off either. I got the same impression as you from that quick glance.seeing him walk off -- its worse than a MCL sprain IMO. damn
Shanahan translation: "We dont really know anything specific, but we know its bad, and are just hoping it is a MCL sprain."a bit of decent news -- heres a link to Shanny saying saying if its what they think a minor MCL sorain he could even be ready to play next week.
henry might okay
hipwhat was the injury to Mike Bell?
Running out to the field trying to get the #1 RB spot with Henry going down he fell down and hurt his hip.Not really, but he did hurt his hip.what was the injury to Mike Bell?
Rascal translation: "I just got Henry in my draft, and am trying to find a way from not punching a hole in my monitor."You guys are jumping the gun. Until more is known, I'm going with Shannys initial comments about it being a first degree sprain. They will do MRI tests, but until those are known to speculate it is worse is crazy.
I don't own Henry in any league actually but thanks.Rascal translation: "I just got Henry in my draft, and am trying to find a way from not punching a hole in my monitor."You guys are jumping the gun. Is your name Rascal Henry by chance?I don't own Henry in any league actually but thanks.Rascal translation: "I just got Henry in my draft, and am trying to find a way from not punching a hole in my monitor."You guys are jumping the gun. Agreed. Keep this to Travis Henry news. Not taking shots at people who drafted him or other bs. Jthis is a thread alot of people are intrested -- take that BS to another thread !
You delete mine but not Burnings?I didn't even say anything.Agreed. Keep this to Travis Henry news. Not taking shots at people who drafted him or other bs. Jthis is a thread alot of people are intrested -- take that BS to another thread !
Well, probably not appropriate info for this thread but I am currently one of those owners holding up a draft right now hitting F5 on this thread at a repeated rate. I happen to be in the 9th however. Bell on the wire with an empty RB#4 slot. Just put a late nite high octane no-diet Pepsi Cola down. Nailbiter ....Hrmmm. Bell is still out there and my late 8th pick is now on the clock. Is Bell the true #2?
What about Sapp? No chance to be the #2RB?Well, probably not appropriate info for this thread but I am currently one of those owners holding up a draft right now hitting F5 on this thread at a repeated rate. my guess is if henry is down for any real length of time it`s back to rbbc....with bell startingWhat about Sapp? I REALLY do hate preseason.......no really![]()

1st degree -- Henry returns week 1 to start2nd degree Henry is out a month likley starts after week 5 -- but in that case if Sapp or Bell looks good could be a RBBC mess even when he gets back.3rd degree -- may as well be a acl tear becasue he is likley done for season* A first degree sprain is damage to only a few ligament fibres.* A second degree sprain is damage to a more extensive number of ligament fibres, but the ligament remains intact.* A third degree sprain is a complete rupture of the ligament. Because of the force involved in this injury other structures in the knee, such as the Meniscus (Cartilage) or the Anterior Cruciate Ligament can also be damaged.
So it was 5,346th time that did it?Your post made my day...This was just a ploy to motivate Mike Bell.![]()
I'm really surprised at how many guys are saying it looked like more than a sprain walking off the field.Have you guys sprained anything before? I know several guys who have had various kinds of sprained knees and no one walks like normal on it. Hell, spraining your ankle hurts more than breaking it right when it happens.
this makes me feel betterI'm really surprised at how many guys are saying it looked like more than a sprain walking off the field.
Have you guys sprained anything before? I know several guys who have had various kinds of sprained knees and no one walks like normal on it. Hell, spraining your ankle hurts more than breaking it right when it happens.I was just about to post something similar to this. I had a first degree sprain of my MCL earlier this summer playing softball. I could hardly put any weight on it and hobbled off the field. (I probably looked worse than Henry walking off the field because I'm a bigger #### than him) I put ice on it and within an hour or so it was easier to put weight on it. By the next day I could walk pretty much normal. I was limping a little bit but I could get around pretty much pain free. I saw the MRI images, so I know it was a real injury (I saw the edema in the ligament) It was not just me being a ####. I was back playing softball (with a knee brace) the next week and I am fat* and old. Travis Henry is in much better shape than me so he should be fine if it is indeed just a 1st degree sprain. My point is that you can't judge the severity of a sprain based on how someone walks off the field. There is just not very much (if any) difference on how somebody is going to walk whether it's a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree sprain or even a torn ACL for that matter. You just can't tell until the Dr. examines him and looks at the MRI.*I'm not really that fat, but it made the story better. Compared to Henry though, I am fat and old.
Edit: Just to add, I am an MRI tech and you guys should know that most of the time the orthopedic surgeon knows before the MRI is even taken whether the ACL is torn or not. It's called a clinical assessment. They did that and called it a MCL sprain. Nothing was said about the ACL, therefore I would guess that nothing is wrong with the ACL unless the Broncos aretrying to hide something. Given that it is only pre season, I don't know what they have to gain by hiding anything. They were pretty up front about Ekuban's injury.
Instead of hating preseason, maybe you should do your homework on Henry. The guy has not played a full season forever....why spend a 1st rounder on him? He was an injury waiting to happen.....and people calle Fred taylor fragile? Henry is far worse than Taylor.I REALLY do hate preseason.......no really![]()
Its just some opinions. It didnt look like the frequent "ow, this really hurts", it looked like "uh oh something is wrong". Just an observation at a glance, nothing more.I'm really surprised at how many guys are saying it looked like more than a sprain walking off the field.Have you guys sprained anything before? I know several guys who have had various kinds of sprained knees and no one walks like normal on it. Hell, spraining your ankle hurts more than breaking it right when it happens.
I dont think any more then what Shanny said would be released until the "percautionary" MRIHenry has shown in his career he is a tough guy. I would hold my breath though. I could diagnose a ruptured Achillies, but knees are a bit more tricky. I want to see see how this unfoldsEdit: Just to add, I am an MRI tech and you guys should know that most of the time the orthopedic surgeon knows before the MRI is even taken whether the ACL is torn or not. Shanny was quote as saying not only will he start week 1...he expects that if he had to he could start the next preseason game.Mild 1st degree MCL sprain unless MRI shows something surprising. So not that big of a deal if it is all it is.Rest for the next two weeks and be fresh and ready for week 1.Sapp is far >>>> Bell skill wise and has been lighting up camp. IF Henry goes down then it will be RBBC between Bell and Sapp.So fi you pick up Bell you should pick up Sapp.On a sidenote I traded for Henry two days ago.For those of us who are not MD's this would mean?Shanahan: Henry probably has 1st degree MCL strain pending MRI
