If Tre was the "stud" then he would be outperforming his peers today. He hasn't shown anything today to help them figure out that committee isn't the way to go. The numbers show he's performing exactly as well as Stacy and worse than Cunningham. He needs to seperate himself on the few touches he gets if our patience is going to pay off.Rams will figure out a committee isn't the way to go when you can ride a stud like Tre. We need to have some patience here.
Over.Mason finishes the game with a garbage 12 yd run.
The over/under on the number of posts of joy from the Mason fanboy(s) regarding that meaningless run is 5.

Why wouldnt you? His 4.6ypc is his WORST of the seasonI still believe. Tre train taking off!

Mason was 6 for 20 outside of the aforementioned one-play possession that was the last play of the game. That's well under 4 YPC.So, in his worst outing, he still averages a better ypc than stacy or cunningham has on the season.
Fisher really botched this going for the 3 headed approach. As has Pettine
Belief *is* warranted. Though 20 carries seems miles away; I mean Austin led the team in carries for a chunk of the first half.I still believe. Tre train taking off!
Wait...so when we reference his stats from this game, going forward, we need to say 6-20?Over.Mason finishes the game with a garbage 12 yd run.

It's close, but this qualifies as a fanboy-mention of the 12 yard run.
So we've got 2 so far. Looking to get up over 5.
Yes, definitely. : )Wait...so when we reference his stats from this game, going forward, we need to say 6-20?

So are you starting him next week? How many teams in the league? If yes, who are you starting him over?4.6ypc in his worst outing and still led in carries
I own him in dynasty, so no, won't be starting him until I kno Fisher gets his head out of his booty. So are you starting him next week? How many teams in the league? If yes, who are you starting him over?4.6ypc in his worst outing and still led in carries
Ok, we're on the same page....good to hear.I own him in dynasty, so no, won't be starting him until I kno Fisher gets his head out of his booty.
Owning three parts of a time share is not "smart". At best, it is making the best of a bad situation. I get the thinking is that their O Line is great but 8 weeks in and they haven't figured it out yet.Smart Stacy owners are Mason owners. Many have Benny too. We dont care who gets the rock, provided we know who it's going to be...and we dont right now.Arrow thru the heart of Stacy owners.
Yowzaaaaaaaa
Today I went with Benny over Mason. Looks good right now, but its veeeerrrryyyy early.
actually, yes.soulfly, seriously you are delusional dude. get your #### together. how do you know mason is the best runner on the team? are you a talent scout?

Generally agree here, though it depends on how big your league is and roster limits are. In my main league, gobbling up 100% of even a bad teams' running production is important...so you're right that it may not be "smart", but it certainly is necessary in that case.I Am the Stig said:Owning three parts of a time share is not "smart". I'll hold on Mason but I want no other shares of this hot mess on my bench.
Why do I have a feeling that we are going to see a good dose of Watts in this next game? I hope that suspicion is incorrect...SaintsInDome2006 said:First game went like skeptics predicted.
Question: does this get better in terms of production? If so, when?

Wait....isn't this the same staff that was hailed as brilliant for calling a fake punt on 4th and 3 from their own 19-yard line just last week?I guess the Rams staff thought going in a different direction from last weeks epic win was the correct move, lol.
Me too. I am holding on to all 3 and I'm getting the feeling that none of them are going to be worth crap.JoeyJoJoJuniorShabadoo said:I was hoping for a better Mason showing so I could cut Stacy loose.

I'm in this position and that's why I'm keeping him. I don't need them in my line up right now, but he's one of the few players that can force their way into my starting line up down the line and be a season changer. If you make it through bye weeks without starting them, then barring injury, you never will.Me too. Not true at all. Just takes Fisher committing to one RB instead of a RBBC.I Am the Stig said:If you make it through bye weeks without starting them, then barring injury, you never will.Godsbrother said:Me too. On that note here are his comments from yesterday on the subject and they offer a glimmer of hope:
(On if he’s still happy about the running back by committee approach)
“When they got their opportunities they all were productive. The average per carry is about the same. We’ll see. We may settle into something this week.”
What a rude, uninformative and pointless disaster of a post.mythrilfox said:who cares about his 12 yard run? the point is that if you are splitting hairs over whether or not to count a single 12 yard run when assessing a player your overall sample size is almost meaningless so the conversation is pointless from the start.
soulfly, seriously you are delusional dude. get your #### together. how do you know mason is the best runner on the team? are you a talent scout? oh, is it because of his scintillating game vs. the seahawks, which is only an absurdly small handful of carries? if we want to try extrapolating from that 1 game, which is per se foolish, well then PFF graded him at -1.0 rushing for that game, hardly a great score. do you think you know better than people who actually do this for a living? how do you KNOW fisher will "get his head out of his booty"? are you his therapist and he whispered it to you in a hypnotic daze? how can you think YPC #s over 25 carries is worth anything more than peanuts? runners far more phenomenal than mason have been stuck in crap situations for years on end. to say with such certainty that mason's time will come when he is a marginally above average talent with a history of being mired in a committee is outright delusional. oh my god it hurts my brain how completely clueless you are. taking anything but an agnostic stance at this point is pure stupidity
