Tre Mason (1 Viewer)

Liked the usage today. Keep that up and with the schedule easing up, I think you're going to see some nice games from the kid.

Probably because their opponents are mostly behind against them and therefore feature the passing game more.

DEN's Offense is within 1 point per game of IND, NE, PHI and GB

They rank 9, 19, 22 and 30th against the run.

DEN is no1 v the run - 67ypg... So no, that's not the reason they're no1, as seen by the other top offenses

Mason is just that good.

Great guy to have for the flex down the stretch. Patience paid off, as did the notion early in the season that Mason had the talent to eventually take over the starting spot and it was only a matter of time.

 
He's obviously taken over, but the lack of usage in the passing game is still a concern. Until that changes, he will be very game flow dependent to rack up fantasy points.

 
Tre Mason rushed for 113 yards on 29 carries in the Rams' Week 11 win over the Broncos.

Mason added a one-yard catch. He was impressive as a runner, picking up chunk gains against a Denver defense that entered the game allowing zero 100-yard rushers and just 10 runs of 10-plus yards on the year. Mason is locked into the Rams' lead-back job and now gets two favorable matchups (at SD, vs. OAK) after a tough schedule the previous month. Mason will be a solid RB2 down the stretch and into the fantasy playoffs.

he's had an absolutely brutal stretch of games with SF, Sea, @KC, @SF, @ARI and Den and he got through it maintaining and strengthening his grip on the backfield. They beat both superbowl teams with him running the ball and got 14 and 11 points vs those teams. That's huge. Now he's got some decent / great matchups coming up with SD, Oak and Wash....he's a good little back that runs with a lot of power.

He has been the clear feature back for this offense the last few weeks. It is just a question of how much that is worth...

Agreed, although if the team stays close in games, he could have quite a bit of value. The big thing, as mentioned, is that he doesn't seem to be involved much at all in the passing game. That hurts his value if the team is forced into pass mode.

Absolutely. I'd feel better about starting him if he got more red zone looks too. That OC loves to go with the short passes down there though.

the teams they just played and Tre starred in were supposed to force them into pass mode...

with that ridiculous schedule though I think that likely dictates the play calling as well. I think he'll get more pops in the coming weeks.

Mason added a 26-yard catch. He continues to dominate touches in the Rams' backfield, providing at least one explosive play per game. Mason's big run in this one was a 21-yard scamper. The St. Louis offensive line struggled a bit, however, while the Rams also battled the refs and penalties. Mason will be a solid RB2 option against the Raiders in Week 13, but we'd prefer to see more goal-line looks.

Unfortunately, at this point they favor Cunningham in both the hurry-up and in the red zone.

In fantasy, Mason is more valuable than Cunningham but he is not a RB2 at this point.

 
Those that have continued to bench Mason have been rewarded...in many cases for guys like Blount.

But I have to believe Mason's time to score points will arrive soon.

Yes. If not this week, then when, right? I havent lined them up, but I assume a consensus RB ranking this week has to be 10-15.

 
The matchup at home against Oakland is just about as good as it gets. He is definitely high in the expert rankings for the week. I want to play Mason this week over guys like Hill and Crowell, but his lack of TDs is really concerning. He's been pretty consistent, but not spectacular thus far. Are you guys plugging him in with confidence?

Playing him with confidence ahead of Herron, Richardson, Bush.
