Might explain his relatively disappointing numbers:http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8796643/trent-richardson-cleveland-browns-played-9-games-broken-ribs

"I still can't lay flat on my back or on my side," Richardson said, "but it's going to come around, and I know I'll be healthy before next season."Richardson, who sat out Sunday's season finale in Pittsburgh with a sprained left ankle, hurt his ribs on Oct. 14 against Cincinnati. For the next three or four weeks he said he needed help getting into a shower and dressing. He slept propped up.

Tried to tell you all this all month, didn't know what was wrong but he wasn't right and it showed on field

Tough kid. I did not follow Richardson or the Browns closely this year. Did this injury ever make it on to the injury report? Can Cleveland expect a fine for not reporting it?Edit to add:

The Browns listed Richardson as having a rib cartilage injury throughout the season on their injury report. The first-round draft pick wore a protective jacket over his ribs..
Please ignore the above comments . One day I will learn to read.

His style lends itself to injury. He did not look the part of elite this year. This explains the last nine weeks but he had a knee injury prior then ended the year injured again.

This guy will always under achieve in relative to where he will be drafted, unless he able to put in a full season uninjured and unless he changes hi playing style i doubt it happens.

Wow the guy's a soldier for sure. The yardage/ypc was disappointing for sure but his nose for the end zone and involvement in the passing made him pretty solid this season. Hopefully he's healthier next season and can really have a breakout year. He does run a punishing style, but hes a big, strong back that should be able to handle it at a young age.

I was fully expecting such news. He clearly was hurting most of the year, if not all. He still finished a "disappointing" 9th RB in my PPR league. I can't wait to see him in '13 with a full offseason to get healthy.
