TRUMP TO INFINITY AND BEYOND HQ - The Great and Positive Place (9 Viewers)

I agree. The quote posted above is a literally true statement. Truth should be an absolute defense to racism just as it is an absolute defense to defamation.

There are plenty of young people of all ethnicities who don’t have much in the way of skills, training, or experience that prepare them for an office environment. Black and Latino males aren’t specially exempt from that predicament.

“Black lives matter.”

”No, all lives matter!”

It’s so tedious. Yes, all lives matter, and yes, people of all ethnicities could use some better training in certain cases, but it’s okay to focus on subsections of the population from time to time who have been particularly disadvantaged.
It's kind of echoing your prior post, but I'm quoting this one.  I in no way think your take is wrong, but it's also the take that conservatives have been fighting with the far left for several years now.  I think moderate dems have stayed out of it for the most part, but to see this vocal shift is interesting.  Will the media follow the moderate voice  or dig their heels in?  Because MSM propaganda is telling people that what you just said was racist.

Every Time You Say “All Lives Matter” You Are Being an Accidental Racist

Why ‘All Lives Matter’ Is Such a Perilous Phrase

#AllLivesMatter hashtag is racist, critics say

We misunderstood Donald Trump during his campaign. He wasn’t planning on “draining”the swamp. He planned on “pardoning”the swamp.

I think @Maurile Tremblayhas been all over this from the beginning. He was the first to find the pardons impeachable. Now that it seems they're functioning like kleptocracy currency, i think he's in the right.

Comes as a surprise to no one.

US Attorney from Connecticut John Durham has interviewed several FBI investigators who worked on Mueller’s team, according to investigative reporter Paul Sperry.

This further suggests “Durham’s probe may be expanding into the activities of the Special Counsel’s office,” Sperry added.

BREAKING: Durham has interviewed several of the FBI investigators who worked on Mueller's team during his 2017-2018 inquiry, further suggesting Durham's probe may be expanding into the activities of the Special Counsel's office

I am starting to understand Trump's appeal just a bit.

I completely endorse understanding, accepting, and granting full legal equality to transgendered people. I support the transgendered community wholeheartedly.

But I also find that it's a little gratifying, on some level, to own the libs and watch their heads explode.
Which one of you guys hacked Maurile's account?

Well more than 26.  What's your point though?   Is there some gentlemen's agreement you only get a certain number in your first term and you can go crazy in your second term?  Are bad hombres that Obama pardoned okay but not the bad hombres Trump pardons?

Per Twitter (sorry can't find a link so the stat is as yet unverified) here are the numbers for Obama first term pardons and Trump's pardons to date (still got 8 months to go until election)

Obama ... 22

Trump ...  26

:D

I think people know my political proclivities so I'm trying hard not to be contentious, but doesn't this actually suggest that Trump is not deviating from the norm here?

I've given up on the moderation around here.  One day I'm told not to generalize about a group of people and yet I can't go an hour around here without seeing someone generalizing Trump supporters.  Often questing integrity, morals, and decency.
Just now?

Only lay down the hammer in here for Squis, even after MT asked the regular  :fishing: to stay out.  :lmao:

The point was the total numbers were presented for Obama versus Trump to date to mislead people that Obama had done many many more pardons than Trump. If Trump is reelected, he could easily exceed Obama's 1927 total. Who knows, it might be 3000 to 1927 by the end of his second term.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying. I'd assumed Obama's were at the end of his terms because that's in keeping with protocol. It shouldn't necessarily be protocol, though, especially if one is innocent or has already suffered enough. Then there seems to be cause for pardon, commutation, etc. at that very moment the President decides to do it.

Personally, upon first blush, I don't agree with these pardons and as kwille pointed out in the other thread, selling a Senate seat could be the most threatening white collar crime one can think of considering it hearkens to political corruption.

It just shows President Trump wants to be transparent and doesn’t care about the politics. Obama did it the cowardly way and waited until there were no political ramifications.
Or both men saw fit to act under the pardon authority grant in the Constitution as they saw fit.

a new poll just released from Emerson College shows him at 48% approval and 44% disapproval. What’s notable about these numbers is not the 48% approval number but instead the 44% disapproval number. According to Emerson, “his disapproval numbers are lower now than they’ve ever been before” in their polls:

President Trump’s job performance rating of +4 points is the highest it has been since he took office. This month’s poll finds him at 48% approval and 44% disapproval, up from last month’s 47% approval and 48% disapproval. Emerson College Polling found Trump at 48% approval in December 2019, November 2019, and February 2017 as well but his disapproval numbers are lower now than they’ve ever been before. It also appears that there is no appetite within the GOP for a different nominee, as 91% said they would vote for Trump for the nomination in 2020.

This is pretty amazing when you consider the disapproval numbers actually dropped in the midst of the House’s impeachment inquiry and eventual impeachment of Trump in December.

Nothing was misleading.  The numbers are the numbers.  If Trump reaches 3000 then come back and state that as a fact.  Until then you are just dreaming up some fantasy whataboutism because you're bent out of shape that Trump is using the same powers granted to him that Obama did.

Underground group releases 'MAGA' hat-wearing pigeons in downtown Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Following the viral cowboy pigeons, many believed accessorized birds were a thing of the past. To those folks, one self-described "radical" group says, “Think again.”

An otherwise normal flock of birds was let go in downtown Las Vegas Tuesday, on the eve of a crucial Democratic presidential debate.

However, to anyone paying attention, these birds had something very strange atop their bobbing heads: customized “Make America Great Again” hats. Only one of the pigeons was different, fitted with a small orange hairpiece meant to mimic President Trump.

The group behind the stunt is called P.U.T.I.N, an acronym for Pigeons United To Interfere Now, and according to their peculiar release sent out late Tuesday evening, they are anonymous underground radicals and their pigeons are trained.

The group’s founder, Coo Hand Luke, says that the project came at the end of months of “exhaustive research, logistical hurdles and pigeon care taking,” adding that the release date was coordinated to serve as a sign of loyal support for President Trump.

The release says that the group was inspired by a Cold War-era CIA operation called “Tacana,” during which the intelligence agency explored using pigeons fitted with tiny cameras to spy on Soviet Union sites.

Tuesday’s release was meant as a “kind of aerial protest piece,” the release says, against the Democratic candidates in Las Vegas ahead of Wednesday’s debate.

President gets to do this how they see fit just another power they give the office that seems a bit nuts but I’m sure some constitutional historian could bore us with a 3 hour symposium of its importance in saving the republic.

If Obama was doing stuff for the likes of Hot Rod and Michael Milken then have at it but those seem like a pretty dumb use of the power to me.

Yeah, I agreed that I didn't, at first blush, like the recent spate of pardons nor the Sheriff Joe Arpaio pardon, among others.

The pardon is likely the check of the head of the executive because in order to execute laws, one must enforce them. In other words, jailer throws in, jailer pardons. And to invest the power in the most significant figure in the land sounds right. It's supposed to be used with great care and an eye towards proper clemency and amelioration, though.

Long lines of people standing outside overnight in Phoenix to attend Trumps keep America Great rally tonight.  Amazing the way he is packing these rallies with supporters
He and Bern pack the house. Seems like a showdown of these 2 fanbases is inevitable.

Gonna be a WWF fall season in the world of politics.

Only with legit nastiness and hatred, unlike the staged heat for the show.
  Exactly.

I don’t know if Trump hates Bernie but he obviously loves winning and the fight and wants to run against the Bern.

I’m no Bernie Bro but have seen enough to think Bernie legit hates Trump and everything about him.

Is going to be epic.

In all seriousness I think if it's Trump/Bernie, the divisiveness we saw after 2016 is going to be laughable in comparison.  The message is going to be one side is racist/nazis/sexist/homophobes and the other side is communists/marxists/takers/hammer and sickle/class warfare lovers.  It will go way past the deplorables and Benghazi stuff.

Yup.

Going to be madness.

Good thing Bernie is going to lose 49 states.

Via Newsbusters: Matthews urged Sanders’s primary opponents to “punch” at him and tell him he’s “full of it.” Matthews warned that, like George McGovern in 1972, a Sanders candidacy might excite left-wing Democrats… but could wind up losing 49 states!

Chris Matthews: They gotta get out there and say, “I disagree with socialism. I agree with the markets! I think he’s wrong. I think he’ll never get it done and this country will never go in that direction.” By the way we’ll lose 49 states.

Dems are mad at Trump today for “abusing” his pardon power.

Total Presidential pardons/sentence commutations:

Carter: 566
Reagan: 406
H.W Bush: 77
Cigar Bill: 459
George W: 200
Obama: 1,927
Trump: 26

Please, by all means, educate me on abuse of power.
