Turner (1 Viewer)

mere blitzianity

I'm talking to a guy in my league and he's trying to tell me that its being reported Turner is being demoted this week--said Snelling will get his carries with Ridgers in on his usual 3rd down/obvious passing downs. I can't find anything, but was wondering if anyone knows if this is true. Thanks.

if they didn't do it in the beginning of the year they aren't doing it now. They are 8-1 and going for the super bowl, they aren't going to radically change anything unless he's really hurting them (which outside this game, he hasn't been).

Not true at all. Turner will probably get 20 carries this week and have a bounce back game.

I admit he looks slow out there and can't get into the end zone like he used to, but he's still the man right now.

And Quizz is not replacing him.... the dude gets ragdolled.

Turner is showing his age, no burst, can't break tackles and hitting the hole very slow. I think Jacquizz & Snelling could see increased roles in the future.

"Boy you really had to work hard to bag that blind chick, huh?" /Arrested Development

Not sure why you need to try make stuff up to try and buy low on Michael Turner.

Of course Quizz won't replace him, he's not a complete back, but he looked worlds better than Turner last week against NO. It's quite alarming when essentially every RB has looked good against NO aside from Turner. IMO, the combination of Snelling and Quizz would probably be more effective than the combo of Turner and Quizz. Turner looked so washed up last week it was hard to watch.

Mortensen said before last week's game that Rodgers and Snelling would get more carries because Turner was looking so bad. Turned out to be another example of meaningless coachspeak. Rodgers only got 5 carries and Snelling only got one. Turner got 15 and scored. He's still dominating the RB carriees although both Rodgers and Snelling are getting more consistently involved in the passing game lately.

I think it's time for Snelling to start getting these carries. Turner is awful.
The answer is not currently on the roster, Quizz is the outside the has marks guy and Turner gets early run downs, short yardage, and bleed the clock touches. He's not particularly good at that role anymore, but Snelling really isn't either.Turner will be cut this offseason and a rookie will be brought in to compliment Quizz, if Snelling returns he's 3rd string all-purpose depth again.

At this point I would say that Snelling is much better.

Turner has been getting replaced all year, yet he keeps chugging along. Just keep getting those TD's buddy. He's no RB1, but has been a decent RB2 this year.
