Was that the one with Rachel Nichols? Is so, I 100% agree. And also, boing. The Inside
they completed the mini series. Not much else to tell after they told the post-war stories.Band of Brothers
Sometimes OPM is schtick but maybe he wanted a new miniseries with a different groups tale. I would have watched.they completed the mini series. Not much else to tell after they told the post-war stories.Band of Brothers
if you can find the podcast on grantland with the head of FX, John Landrgraph, he discusses this and says that they really wanted it to succeed, but the numbers just kept dropping every week and they just couldn't find any sign to indicate that there would an upswing. was down to like 250K viewers by the finale. he admitted that there was a marketing issue.Terriers baffles meWe're talking Freaks & Geeks here, but the marketing for Terriers was pretty bad too.Yea never watched an episode but I remember posting in the Terriers thread that it was listed as a comedy in the Directv channel guide. Very poor management. That's 100% on the network.it was the network's lowest-rated show.when you look at the talent that F&G had and how a lot of those folks went on to become famous, it's hard to believe some network exec made the decision to cancel...Freaks and Geeks #1 by a long shot. What a terrific show.
Terriers is another.
The show had good buzz and FX usually gives there shows more slack in catching an audience
maybe they started that policy after Terriers...![]()

i am a big fan, but networks do have to make decisions. If I remember right, Paul Feig talked about them having a really tough time slot and I'm sure they faced an uphill battle, but sometimes these things happen. That's 100% on the network.it was the network's lowest-rated show.when you look at the talent that F&G had and how a lot of those folks went on to become famous, it's hard to believe some network exec made the decision to cancel...Freaks and Geeks #1 by a long shot. Yes, this was the only show that was cancelled too soon./threadFirefly.
Rubicon was a good show...better than The Killing, and hell on Wheels.A few recent ones I enjoyed.
The Borgias.
From the out set it was made to be 4 seasons but showtime decided to cancel after 3.
Lights out. FX.
cancelled after one good season.
Rubicon. Amc.
Great slow burn conspiracy theory show. Cancelled after 1 season.
It was. Adam Scott leaving for Parks & Rec was probably the final nail in the coffin (after Jane Lynch had already left), but I think the rest of the cast was strong enough that it could have continued along without missing too much of a beat. That show was awesome.Party Down
at only 6 episodes it makes it the "quality to episode ratio" winner to me.

I kind of disagree about this. I thought it was great at the beginning but it kind of lost steam in the end. It had run its course.Millennium
I love this show more than anything, but it got three solid years, and its ratings were truly, truly abysmal.shadyridr said:Does arrested development count?
C'mon - it was a show about the end of the millennium and it was cancelled in 1999. That is the very definition of being cancelled too soon.I kind of disagree about this. I thought it was great at the beginning but it kind of lost steam in the end. It had run its course.Millennium

F&G was mentioned and I almost posted it too. I watched all the episodes recently on Netflix and after thinking about it, they ended it just right imo.HughHoney said:Freaks and Geeks. Watched it for the first time on IFC recently, really good show. Coulda been great with Aptow running the show.

i believe that there will be 6 more new eps on netflix. Is The Killing still active? They wait so long between seasons now you can't tell.

Nimrod.
Never saw Southland, except for ads for the show but I really liked "Life". Damian Lewis was the reason I started watching "Homeland"...Just Win Baby said:
Over There was good, but Starved was terrible. I forget that main guy's name but he might be the least likeable person in the world.

It should have been like ER. Just keep cycling in new actors every 3-5 years.Bay Watch. There is always room on the airwaves for hot big-breasted scantily-clad young ladies to be running up and down the shore rescuing people.
I don't remember too much about it other than it used to make me laugh. I'm sure the premise caused a lot of people to shy away.Over There was good, but Starved was terrible. I forget that main guy's name but he might be the least likeable person in the world.

That would be shows that weren't cancelled early enough. Can't believe nobody mentioned Dexter yet
I loved Dexter the first 5 years and it should have ended about that time, so it had run it's course and certainly wasn't cancelled early by any means. That show ran from 2006 to 2013.Can't believe nobody mentioned Dexter yet
