Uber/Lyft question (1 Viewer)

I've also found when I reserve an uber it's much more expensive than just getting it the day of.  If you're in a city with plenty of drivers no need to order ahead imo.

Been reserving my Uber each morning this week and only a 50 cent charge. The so-called temporary fuel charge is almost as much.

Good to know.  I haven't tried in a while but used to find when I reserved the night before it's always $10-15 more expensive than booking one on demand.

I have both apps in a folder and anytime I use it I plug in address on both and just go with the cheaper one.   There's no rhyme or reason to which one is cheaper but it's usually like a $2-$5 difference for a 20 min drive.   In my area the same drivers work for both companies (literally have both stickers on their car)
Same, and find that 75% or so of the drivers here in SoCal do both.  The fares are typically pretty close but at least by me, the wait times tend to vary.  I just go with the shorter wait time if it's within a couple bucks of the other service.

I had one joker on Uber accept my ride but completely blow by my neighborhood and just kept going... miles past where I live.  Obviously oblivious to the fact that - in this case it was a she - accepted the fare but decided to not pick me up.  I obviously canceled once she it was apparent she had no intentions of coming to get me.  I didn't get charged the $5 fee or whatever thankfully.
