Uh, NEP @ TB anyone? (2 Viewers)

My god, Romo is like sitting behind a rambling drunk at a bar who just has a running dialogue of the most obvious everything.

That injury/penalty combo was brutal.

That was such an awful play by Winston.  He threw that ball out so quickly (against a 3 man rush) that id never even had a prayer.

Why isn't he throwing it to Evans?  Of course I am playing against DJax due to opponent's byes
Belichek always schemes to take away the opposing teams' #1 option. ALWAYS.

Forcing Jameis to target everyone else, which he usually doesn't do well. He did in the 4th but alot of that was soft Patriot coverage.

I thought that last throw was fine, had a chance if Howard was looking for it.
This, the defense clearly wasn't prepared for it. Plenty of spaces all around. If Howard had his head turned back they win. That would obviously be something QB and WRs would discuss beforehand if it is a quick throw or not.

Nate Freese would be an improvement on Folk at this point.

Winston still young and has plenty of talent and many more good games to come but I do wonder if he is a little too excitable and distracts himself by getting too amped up. There's a certain lack of control to his rabble rousing as if there's too much pent up energy needing to be released. I think I prefer my QBs to be a little more even keeled. Maybe experience will bring about some maturation on that front.

Steve Smith Sr. echoing what I had said earlier. Dirk Koetter offensive gameplan this game was very unimaginative.

He's hamstrung with one of the biggest turnover machines at QB. He knows that at best, all he has is a game manager at QB. He needs to put together a powerhouse D, run the ball and limit the Winston mistakes in order to succeed.

Yeah, I remember he wanted to scale Winston back before the season to a guy who attempts 30 passes a game max because Winston tries to force the issue too much. Ten days of getting Doug Martin back to speed will go a long way in re-establishing the power run game. Because he didn't know the packages, he had to sit out like the whole 4th.

EDIT: Of course, this isn't making the Doug Martin owners tonight feel that great. :P

Don't think it had anything to do with not knowing the packages. He's been with the team for a couple of years now and throughout pre-season. Not like they signed him off the street 4 days ago. It had more to do with that they were behind and Simms is the passing down back

Yeah but it's not like Martin has stone hands. Doug has chops to take a backfield pass to the house, he was looking fantastic out there. I don't think it's that he doesn't know the plays, he may not have had reps for them.

Not really. Fantasy wise, it's beautiful. They'll always be behind and Winston will be chucking it to Brate, Evans and Jackson, mostly.

I guess, but when you can only score 14 against the lowest ranked defense in the league..

Makes me all giggly inside thinking how giddy all the Bucs fans were a month ago thinking keeping Folk was the answer to the Aguayo problem.

I like what I saw in Winston in the 4th quarter.     If he has even a below average kicker, they win that game
I am not buying this. If TB scored more points, NE would have attempted to score more points instead of just running the clock and being uber conservative to avoid turnovers.

Fair enough.  Although I didn't feel like NE was "uber conservative" in the 4th.  They just didn't execute and/or Tampa's D did a nice knob containing them

The "turnover machine" has 3 of them on the season, all in one game and a 1.9% interception rate on the year. I think most coaches could get by with their QB on pace for 12 turnovers on the year.

I know you're one of the worst trolls here, and truly know nothing about football at all, but at least give an effort.

Couple of key points here...

1. This defense is going to get healthy sooner than later. They consistently got pressure on Brady without their 2 best LB & a limited Spence. So the first part I don’t necessarily agree with. When healthy this will be a potentially nasty defense.

2. This is a team that missed their week 1 (BYE-icane) so they’ve only had 3 games, and clearly DJax & Winston have some timing/chemistry to work on. And the whole team needs to gel - which leads me to

3. Doug Martin was in his 1st game back, and looked amazing. When he gets rolling & they can get this offense on the same page, and when the defense is healed up, this has the look of a very good team.

Winston was not on top of his game tonight, I agree. But even with an average kicker they win tonight against the Pats.

IMO this is a team that still has a lot of growth to do, and with a lot of talent all over the field. Elite TEs, a mobile QB who can make all the throws (when he plays better), above average receiving corps & a potentially elite defense.

a lot to be excited about if you're a TB fan - long season. I think TB will put it together.

Except for Folk. He sucks.

The Patriots ran 8 passing plays versus 5 running plays in the 4th quarter. If you go back and include the last drive of the 3rd quarter, it was 14 to 8. Those numbers don't include the strip sack or Brady's scramble either.

I wouldn't say that the Pats played Uber conservative at all.

ETA: I don't think anyone is saying that the Bucs definitely would have won if Folk hadn't missed the FGs because we don't know how the game would have changed if he made them, but obviously they would have had a much much better shot.
