Just took a look and your team on the surface is pretty good. For survivor purposes though, I think you've mixed in too many players with week 4 and 5 byes. All it takes is one bad week and your gone. Week 4 looks like potential problems for you.Feeling pretty good about my team. How 'bout the rest of yous?
Andy did a real nice job here, IMO.

Following up on last night, for Andy:To Copacabana... "His name was Ricky, he was a halfbackHe had the dreadlocks in his hair; not a spokesperson for D.A.R.E.He won the Heisman and smoked the ganjaAnd though he ran the ball with speed, he left the team to smoke his weed. The Dolphins said, "Repay", he decided to playBut his pee showed some THC, theleague said, "'Bye 'til May."Now he's coming back to MiamiHis stash prob'ly hid in his camis. He's coming back to MiamiHe's quick on his feet, though he might munch your Fritosin Miami... He'll hit the bong."

I hate mine. I always hate my teams after I draft, but I was underprepared last night and it showed in the later rounds. Who did I take in the 8th? Rivers?Everyone else happy with their team?
uke:A draft we can believe in....Hah, just read somewhere that the teams will only be playing for 5 weeks. I doubt that would've changed my draft much, ok, maybe it would have, but I can't believe I did not know that prior to the draft.
That was the little smiley exchange that Chris and I had. Simply pick players that had a bye week 6 or later and you didn't have to worry about any bye week issues.Of course, both of us picked a few candidates later that had an early bye week, but that was more for backup/support/etc.Hah, just read somewhere that the teams will only be playing for 5 weeks. QB's
Hill, Shaun SFO (9) 19.01
Kitna, Jon DET (4) 12.12
Manning, Peyton IND (4) 2.12
Smith, Alex SFO (9) 14.12
Good potential here, but the stupid thing is that I'll have to rely on SF QB's on week 4. Only solace is that they're playing New Orleans. Happy with Manning and Kitna though for the first 3 games and week 5 if I'm still around then. If Smith/Hill can pull me through on week 4, I should be in good shape.
RB's
Hester, Jacob SDC (9) 22.12
Jones, Felix DAL (10) 9.01
Jones, Julius SEA (4) 6.12
Jones, Thomas NYJ (5) 4.12
McAllister, Deuce NOS (9) 11.01
Tomlinson, Ladainian SDC (9) 1.01
Quite happy with my RB stable. Over the weeks, I think I will have good production. Tomlinson should produce most weeks, and I assume some of the supporting cast will come through here. Not too many early byes here, and overall I think each week my RB's should be competitive with anyones in the league.
WR's
Avery, Donnie STL (5) 20.12
Galloway, Joey TBB (10) 7.01
Hackett, D.J. CAR (9) 13.01
Johnson, Calvin DET (4) 5.01
Johnson, Chad CIN (8) 3.01
Walker, Javon OAK (5) 10.12
Again, quite happy with my group of WR's. Lead by Chad Johnson, I think there's enough diversity here to bring in the points each week. I'm I'm still in it week 5, my options for WR points is narrowed, but that's OK due to the flex nature of the league, and only needing 3/4 to count, with extra help from a RB if need be.
TE's
McMichael, Randy STL (5) 16.12
Shockey, Jeremy NYG (4) 8.12
Shockey is an excellent TE now on a team that throws a lot and has a high-powered offense. I expect him to be a favorite target of Brees, assuming his leg holds up. Early bye didn't prevent me from taking him in the 8th round. The 3 first weeks he can help me are worth the risk of only relying on McMichael in the 4th week.
PK's
Elam, Jason ATL (7) 21.01
Vinatieri, Adam IND (4) 17.01
Shooting in the dark here. Had both of them on squads in the past, have faith in their talent, come through for me guys.
Def
Giants, New York NYG (4) 15.01
Jets, New York NYJ (5) 18.12
It's obvious to me now why these teams were being overlooked, but before I thought it was a good pick. Oh well, first 3 weeks I'm holding out hope that they combine to keep me in it. 4th and 5th weeks are just prayers. I

I probably should add myThis was my first live speed draft in quite some time, and it was an experience. I knew to avoid week 4 and 5 byes when possible, and like Chris Smith, that was one of my objectives going in.
QB's
Drew Brees-3.05
Jeff Garcia-10.08
Rex Grossman-21.05
I am expecting a lot from Brees and I don't think he will disappoint. I consider him much like Brady and Peyton. He'll get his no matter who the competition is, so I really didn't care much about his schedule. Garcia and Grossman are just insurance in the event of a Brees injury. No bye week problems here.
RB's
Tatum Bell-14.08
Jamaal Charles-20.08
Frank Gore-1.05
Willis McGahee-2.08
Fred Taylor-6.08
Derrick Ward-19.05
Gore, McGahee, and Taylor make a nice threesome and hope to get some production out of the other 3. I was looking to get 5-6 RB's and accomplished that. Just trying to hit the long ball with the Charles pick and IMO Ward is the real backup to Jacobs. Bell and Ward are the only week 4 casualties, but I'm not counting on that much from them anyway.
WR's
Arnaz Battle-18.08
Dwayne Bowe-5.05
Ronald Curry-13.05
Chad Jackson-22.08
Darrell Jackson-15.05
Bryant Johnson-11.05
Derrick Mason-8.08
David Patten-16.08
Wes Welker-4.08
My plan with WR's was to draft as many 1's and 2's as possible. Nor sure if I accomplished that but all 9 of them will get me some points each week IMO. Maybe a mistake to draft 2 different WR teammates, but Battle and Chad were value picks to me. I really didn't like my #1 WR to have a week 4 bye, but Welker represented tremendous value there IMO. I think my depth here will get me through.
TE's
Chris Cooley-7.05
Owen Daniels-9.05
Wanted 2 top TE's and got them in Cooley and Daniels. No problems here.
PK
Josh Scobee-17.05
He's a kicker, what can I say. I only wanted 1 so that I could add depth in other places.
D/ST
Chicago Bears-12.08
I thought about adding a 2nd defense but decided to stay with the depth at WR.
I wasn't too happy with this team right after the draft, but after looking at it, I don't think it's too bad. There were several players I wanted who were grabbed 1-3 spots before my pick. I was using DD, and I think probably most of the others were too the way this draft went. Hopefully this team will get me through to the next round. *hands clasped in prayer*
although its hard to say exactly what I would have done... I would have used DD as a guide also. I definitely was going to try and avoid players with week 4/5 byes even studs. You need to shoot for getting to round 2 in this format. I was thinking I would end up with Gore at #1. I really wanted to get Brees also
. I was going to try to end up with 3QB's, 5 RB's, 7 WR's, 2 TE's, 2 DEF and 2 K's. I was thinking of going RB, WR, WR, RB for the first four rounds, at least going into it...who knows how I would have actually played it, but then I wouldn't have gotten Brees that way. Good luck! I really missed not being able to participate but will be rooting for TEX...

There's probably a thread about this if I cared to look, but could Pennington be the starter in Miami before long? Woo-Hoo! 225-2-2/game.Is there a list yet of screw jobs by the early draft? So far I have Pennington/Clemens, Marshall and Smith...who else?
The Pennington thread seems to think that KC is the likeliest spot. Reunited with Edwards, the man who did so much for his career. Well, 225-2-2 was supposed to be sarcasm, but the Chiefs at least offer some viable targets. Not sure the Dolphins can say the same. Of course, it's also tough to throw from your ###.The Pennington thread seems to think that KC is the likeliest spot. Reunited with Edwards, the man who did so much for his career.
