Same here. Stupid UPS delivered it sufficiently late that I didn't have a chance to play it last night. This is one of my favorite franchises (alongside the Souls franchise, which couldn't be any more different).Got it yesterday, gonna try it out later tonight. Looking forward to it.
Not a spoiler per se... but I read that the first half of the game is very similar to previous versions. But during this first half, the game is subtlely preparing you for a new type of gameplay that shows up in the second half.cockroach said:I've spent most of the time playing the multiplayer. And then when I did get into story mode, I keep getting distracted getting artsy with the camera mode.
It's a pretty, next-gen game, no dobut... but kinda just the same game all over again, so far.

Cant wait air to play this one.
Is that the default? What difficulty are you playing on? I have it on hard and am dying a ton in confrontations. Takes 3 or 4 tries most times as I get seen trying to stealth attack and get torn up out of coverI need to turn off auto aim. I turned it on and forgot how easy it makes it![]()

I feel like I am watching a movie many times while playing it. It's cool and all because the graphics and voice acting, along with the story itself are top notch....but sometimes I find myself saying "ok, enough is enough, I just want to play the #### game already!".Why isn't there an Uncharted movie already. The ####### storyboards are right there on the disc. SMH. That is all.
Hang tight. I'll sell you another hand me down.Yankee23Fan said:Man. I can't justify buying another console right now but I would do it for this game.

Only if you consider gameplay to mean gunplay. Which is my least favorite part. I've finished the game, and my accuracy was around 29% (I was playing on hard and didn't use auto targeting, which I didn't realize was an option). I can never hit anything, I'm constantly swarmed by bad guys, and I swear they keep bringing reinforcements, so the gun fights seemed to be unending.I'm now at Chapter 20, and I have to say that this game is radically different from the other three Uncharted titles. Specifically, it is incredibly slow-paced with literally about one tenth the gunplay and correspondingly more platforming, random exploration, and walking around than any of the previous installments. If any of you played the Left Behind DLC for The Last of Us, this game is basically that in a full-blown-game format.
That's not to say that it sucks, because I played for five straight hours this afternoon and even enjoyed the tedious lets-explore-yet-another-house sequences. It clearly has a better story than the other games in the franchise. But it has so. Little. Gameplay.
You meant "this" not "these." The first three games were definitely shooters first. If all you wanted was a shooter, these aren't the games for you.
Did you play MGV? These graphics are amazing for sure, but I thought Metal Gear wasn't much worse.Just started Chapter 15. I have some complaints about this game that I'll post eventually, but I have to say that this game has by far the best graphics and environments of any game I've ever played. I only play on consoles, so I'm sure PC guys are rolling their eyes a least a little, but this title is sensational for consoles in terms of lighting, image quality, and general world-building.
I'm on chapter 19 and to me my only complaint much like a lot of the older ones, - I can do without the press triangle to lift this beam up to sneak under, over and over and over again.
Yeah, I'll be switching to that mode.I don't sneak. LOL I just blast away
On hard with no auto aim, it's not really an option.I don't sneak. LOL I just blast away.
Ahhhh. I play on the default. And while I do die a lot it's not impossible until the armor shotgun guys show up lol.On hard with no auto aim, it's not really an option.
I agree the combat is a lot like Far Cry and MGSV
Yeah I felt the puzzles so far have been easier. But I also sucked at the harder onesThe puzzles are much easier in this installment. Not sure if that's good or bad. There also doesn't seem to be as many. I like the climbing, the game wouldn't be the same without it. I also like how in many areas there are multiple ways to get somewhere. The enemies are easier to die, save for the armored up guys, which can be a pita. Graphics, story-line, voice acting, the best I have seen. Also enjoyed the jeep/boat aspect. Overall, nice conclusion to an epic series. Glad there were no monsters/aliens.
Just finished the game, and unfortunately it plays like this pretty much all the way through. Naughty Dog clearly wanted to make a game that had a more serious, grown-up tone than the previous titles, and one where combat took a back seat to exploration. And where stealth is a big thing. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it all feels incredibly out of place and kind of jarring in an Uncharted game.Andy Dufresne said:I can't say it any other way - I'm terribly disappointed so far (just finished the Scotland chapter).
If I wanted to play Metal Gear or Far Cry I'd have bought those games. It's clear that Naughty Dog programmers played those games and liked some features and that's what caused the release date delays.
Tedious is the perfect word to describe this so far - the banter between Nate and Sam being a huge problem. Sam is no Sully.
And I get that Scotland is bland. But then why put it in a game series noted for its scenery.
And the CLIMBING. Nothing but CLIMBING. UGH. Oh wait, there's lots of sneaking too! How fun!
So far, Tomb Raider is ten times as fun as this game.
