Uncharted 4 thread (1 Viewer)

I've spent most of the time playing the multiplayer.   And then when I did get into story mode, I keep getting distracted getting artsy with the camera mode.

It's a pretty, next-gen game, no dobut... but kinda just the same game all over again, so far.

I prefer the number three, has a lot of spiritual meaning as well. But yeah I think we can describe a thread about the number 4 as uncharted, sure.

Got it yesterday, gonna try it out later tonight.  Looking forward to it.
Same here.  Stupid UPS delivered it sufficiently late that I didn't have a chance to play it last night.  This is one of my favorite franchises (alongside the Souls franchise, which couldn't be any more different).

Not a spoiler per se... but I read that the first half of the game is very similar to previous versions. But during this first half, the game is subtlely preparing you for a new type of gameplay that shows up in the second half.

Cant wait air to play this one.

I read something similar last night, but I seem to be past the point where it's supposed to switch up and I don't really see it.  Smarter NPCs helping you out?  I don't know, it's fun and all, graphics are definitely amazing... it hasn't really set it's self apart from the other 3 at all though.

I need to turn off auto aim. I turned it on and forgot how easy it makes it
Is that the default? What difficulty are you playing on? I have it on hard and am dying a ton in confrontations.  Takes 3 or 4 tries most times as I get seen trying to stealth attack and get torn up out of cover

I'm playing on normal/moderate.

But the screen after you pick that there are 3 settings - auto aim, auto camera , auto vehicle camera.  All of by default.  I turned them on

My copy arrives tomorrow from Amazon....caved and with 20% I said WTF...I played the first 3 two times through and loved every second of it. I play with auto aim on normal. I am about the story in this one....I don't mind having a 14-18 hour kick ### game that plays like a movie with minimal effort.

Looking forward to playing this.

I am still spending most of my time playing this in the multiplayer.  I wish there was more of a leveling system, but you just sort of upgrade stuff as you use it and eventually get more points to equip stuff with, I guess.  I really don't know but it is super fun.

Why isn't there an Uncharted movie already.  The ####### storyboards are right there on the disc.  SMH.  That is all.

I feel like I am watching a movie many times while playing it.  It's cool and all because the graphics and voice acting, along with the story itself are top notch....but sometimes I find myself saying "ok, enough is enough, I just want to play the #### game already!".

I can easily say this is a GOTY candidate. Amazing game all the way around. I am only on chapter 4......it's simply marvelous.

I bought the Uncharted PS4 bundle at the end of last year for my son. Came with I think 1 through 3 and had a digital download for the beta, correct? Does anyone know if the bundle also included a digital download for the full Uncharted 4 game? Thanks.

So far in the new generation of consoles I've played Last of Us, the witness, Fallout 4, ratchet and clank and now I'm thinking about Uncharted 4. Where are the next gen titles?  (Disclaimer: I have no time to play new games)

I doubt it.

Just started Chapter 15.  I have some complaints about this game that I'll post eventually, but I have to say that this game has by far the best graphics and environments of any game I've ever played.  I only play on consoles, so I'm sure PC guys are rolling their eyes a least a little, but this title is sensational for consoles in terms of lighting, image quality, and general world-building.

I'm now at Chapter 20, and I have to say that this game is radically different from the other three Uncharted titles.  Specifically, it is incredibly slow-paced with literally about one tenth the gunplay and correspondingly more platforming, random exploration, and walking around than any of the previous installments.  If any of you played the Left Behind DLC for The Last of Us, this game is basically that in a full-blown-game format.

That's not to say that it sucks, because I played for five straight hours this afternoon and even enjoyed the tedious lets-explore-yet-another-house sequences.  It clearly has a better story than the other games in the franchise.  But it has so.  Little.  Gameplay.

Only if you consider gameplay to mean gunplay.  Which is my least favorite part.  I've finished the game, and my accuracy was around 29% (I was playing on hard and didn't use auto targeting, which I didn't realize was an option).  I can never hit anything, I'm constantly swarmed by bad guys, and I swear they keep bringing reinforcements, so the gun fights seemed to be unending.

I much prefered exploring and finding journal entries and notes as well as doing the puzzles, as well as the story part of the game.  If all you wanted was a shooter, these aren't the games for you.

You meant "this" not "these."  The first three games were definitely shooters first.

To be clear, though, U4 is a good game.  I just don't see myself replaying it as much as I did the others.

Did you play MGV? These graphics are amazing for sure, but I thought Metal Gear wasn't much worse.

I'm only on Ch 12.   I agree that the running around is kind of tedious and I want more encounters.  I usually mark all the enemies and stealth kill all but the last couple.

But the running around is actually a nice change of pace since I'm playing the PvP 80% of the time.  If you're tired of not shooting, head there.

Much harder with Auto Aim off lol.  Auto Aim on is not much of a challenge imo.

I'm on chapter 19 and to me my only complaint much like a lot of the older ones, - I can do without the press triangle to lift this beam up to sneak under, over and over and over again.

But overall am really enjoying it.  There is been a couple times ive had no idea where to go next and jumped to my death

There is a setting in the options where you just hold triangle and not tap.  Good on the ligaments.

I can't say it any other way - I'm terribly disappointed so far (just finished the Scotland chapter).

If I wanted to play Metal Gear or Far Cry I'd have bought those games. It's clear that Naughty Dog programmers played those games and liked some features and that's what caused the release date delays.

Tedious is  the perfect word to describe this so far - the banter between Nate and Sam being a huge problem. Sam is no Sully.

And I get that Scotland is bland. But then why put it in a game series noted for its scenery.

And the CLIMBING. Nothing but CLIMBING. UGH. Oh wait, there's lots of sneaking too! How fun!

So far, Tomb Raider is ten times as fun as this game.

Downloaded this the other day, haven't played 1-3, but this one is pretty cool.  Cut scenes are long as F though.  Graphics are pretty awesome.  I like when you die it just reboots you from where you left off quickly.

The puzzles are much easier in this installment.  Not sure if that's good or bad. There also doesn't seem to be as many. I like the climbing, the game wouldn't be the same without it.  I also like how in many areas there are multiple ways to get somewhere. The enemies are easier to die, save for the armored up guys, which can be a pita.  Graphics, story-line, voice acting, the best I have seen. Also enjoyed the jeep/boat aspect. Overall, nice conclusion to an epic series.  Glad there were no monsters/aliens.

On hard with no auto aim, it's not really an option.

I agree the combat is a lot like Far Cry and MGSV
Ahhhh.  I play on the default.   And while I do die a lot it's not impossible until the armor shotgun guys show up lol.

I could see it being tougher

Yeah I felt the puzzles so far have been easier.  But I also sucked at the harder ones

Just finished the game, and unfortunately it plays like this pretty much all the way through.  Naughty Dog clearly wanted to make a game that had a more serious, grown-up tone than the previous titles, and one where combat took a back seat to exploration.  And where stealth is a big thing.  Nothing wrong with that at all, but it all feels incredibly out of place and kind of jarring in an Uncharted game.

I have six platinum trophies from these games -- three from the PS3 titles, and three from the remasters.  Seven if you count 1000/1000 on U1 before they patched in trophies.  So I say all this as a big fan of the franchise.

I love the production value and controls (so smooth and the rock sliding is awesome) on this installment. And I am loving the story thus far (On chapter 9). I just picked up the Drake Collection for 28 bucks so I can replay them all on the PS4 at 60 FPS. I love those first three games big time. Well worth it to play through again and then tackle UC4 again on hard.

I really liked the level (Chap 14?) where you are in a flashback looking for your mother's notebook.  No real action but the atmosphere was so awesome.

Finished up last night on the normal level.

Some minor nitpick but overall really enjoyed it.  The graphics were stunning.

I did find the puzzles easier but luckily that probably was a good thing for me

One level though

the exploding skeletons can suck my #### ...lol
