:lmao: yeah I guess they got some strong airplay, but for a pretty short duration. kinda like Rossington Collins, Dire Straits, etc. I blame half the songs in this thread for my memory challenges :D

Quarterflash were ok. Harden My Heart, Find Another Fool, and Take Me To Heart are all solid.

Two of my favorite Van Halen songs:

Little Guitars

Poundcake
Mine too. Poundcake never gets much love. I can't think of a better song to turn up the speakers and blow out my eardrums to. Freakin hottest video evah too!

Hagar was also at his best in the old Montrose days. Hot Sweet & Sticky, Rock Candy, Bad Motor Scooter
That whole Montrose/Montrose album is very solid.
Pretty much. Back then it was one of the few albums that had more than 2 good songs on it. A classic in my opinionI almost forgot about Robben Ford - Chevrolet (among others) I think he was the 80's, early 90's?

I liked the Scorps -Fly To The Rainbow (Speedy's Coming), and Intrance (Robot Man,) Albums as well.

This is the most under-rated "Band" that comes to my mind. They just never made it to the Big Time, although they did have 1 album (I believe) go national. I saw them live locally too many times to count.

Duke Jupiter - songs include I'll Drink to You, Rock & Roll Band, This Is Japan.

Very obsqure band, with a unique sound. LINK
You grow up in Syracuse or Binghamton? Thereyago. Either way, remember RBT Band? Local new wave act - had one song called "Facts and Figures" get some reasonable airplay.

Sammy Hagar - Heavy Metal
The underrated songs from 80's Sammy are Give to Live and Eagles Fly. In fact that whole album is underrated.
For me, Standing Hampton is his best work.
True, because it has two of the best rock anthems ever in I Can't Drive 55 and One Way To Rock.
Oops. 55 isn't, but One Way is.
One Way to Rock was already a great song and then Eddie got ahold of it for concerts and just blew it out and took it to a whole different level. :headbang:

Rochester (home of Lou Gramm)Never heard of RBT? Remember the "Good Rats" Coo, Coo, Coo, your face could stop a clock, coo, coo, coo. They also did Ratcity in Blue, and Just Found Me A Lady.

They were around playing the bars (Penny Arcade) at the same time.

Good call on Jupiter. I'll Drink to You got some good airtime on MTV. I'll always remember big outdoor concert they did down at Lake Ontario. I was bit too young to go but could hear it from my backyard.

Rindy Ross does play a mean sax. :bag: for actually remembering her name.

I thought the song that got the most airtime for Duke Jupiter was "Little Lady"? One of my favs' and forgot to mention in my thread. :lmao: at zamboni remembering the chick's name in Quarterflash - Double :bag:

Hooters - All You Zombies
Not particularily a Hooters fan, but I heard this on Woxy Vintage yesterday, and it's rather good.
Yeah, I always liked it. Sometimes you'll hear the shortened version that takes out the middle keyboard section before the solo.

May be a Honda:

Kansas - Fight Fire With Fire

Never was a huge Kansas fan, but I liked this song.
I like the song "Power" from them. But that may be a 70's tune- I'm not certain.

Naw, it's 80's. They put out two albums without Steve Walsh in the 80's.

Fight Fire With Fire was one of the songs with Jon Elafante as their lead singer.

Another great one was Play The Game Tonight.

Gangsters - The Specials

:putsonnarrowblacktie:

Also, one of THE most underrated bands form this era is Luscious Jackson.

A "girl band" that did not fit into any of the typical modes for female bands of the time... in that they typically wrote their own songs, played their own instruments, and did not have to rely on over-produced heavy metal schtick). They were eclectic, drawing on urban, jazz and alternative influences and featured stunning, lush vocals from Jill Cunniff. They produced only three full length albums in the mid-late 90's, and each one is worth owning, IMHO.

Moody Blues - The Voice

Their heyday was obviously way back, but this tune was (and still is) really good.

Nice call. I heard "Gemini Dream" again the other day and was reminded how much I appreciate them. Kinda like ELO in their broad, epic approach.

The Other Side Of Life is another good one from their 80's repatoire.
