This is a pretty cool story.  He came up in the Sounders system but was not considered good enough to play for the big club so he eventually moved to another USL club.

He then went and signed for a small team in Norway in the second division.  The team won promotion.

Rosenborg then grabbed the coach from that team and the coach immediately bought Rogers.

He has played already 8 times for Rosenborg culminating in the hat trick today in a 3-2 win.

Very cool indeed.  He turned 23 in May.  Was on the US U20 back in 2018.

Nimfasha Berchimas is currently training at Bayern Munich. The Charlotte FC academy winger is the youngest member of the US U15s. He likely caught the eye of European scouts at the Torneo Delle Nazioni.

Landon Donovan is among the finalists to take over as manager of the San Jose Earthquakes, sources have told ESPN.

The Quakes parted ways with Matias Almeyda back in April, and since then have been managed on an interim basis by Alex Covelo.

One source said that the Quakes are in the final phase of the interview process with five candidates plus the existing coaching staff in consideration. The source added that San Jose has interviewed over 10 people in the process.

Chelsea have reached verbal agreement with Chicago Fire for Gabriel Slonina, after direct talks between Todd Boehly and MLS club. 10m deal plus add-ons, he'd stay at Chicago on loan. #CFC Chelsea are expected to submit official bid this week in order to get the deal done.

That has to cap off the worst year in Mexican soccer since they got caught cheating in the late 80's (which also, ironically, launched US Soccer into the modern era)

:shock:  Nice figure for a young GK.  Do we know if that is pounds or dollars?  (If it is pounds, that's almost 12mil dollars.)

As of last night there was nothing yet agreed for Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gaga Slonina, according to a source with direct knowledge of the talks. Discussions ongoing with Chelsea. Interest has always been strong in the #USMNT prospect.

We need more of this.  The country is just too large for only MLS academies to cover it.   If the USL teams start to see profit opportunities in academies too?   Hello floodgates!

We are getting so close to a real full blown system.  We just need a few more USL players to create transfer fees (they don't need to be anywhere near as big as the ones MLS gets).   A million bucks go a hell of a long way in the USL.

Ideally I would love the flow of money for a 17 year old to come from MLS to the USL.  Then let the 17 year old play 2-3 years in MLS and then move on to Europe for a bigger transfer fee.

This might be the second player Louisville gets over to Europe (Jonathan Gomez went last year to Spain).

 
I am amazed it took this long to be honest.  This has been a train wreck

It really was pitch perfect.  He is so genuine when he speaks.  There is never a feeling that he speaks with a forked tongue.  I really hope he is a US coach some day.  You can see why players like him.  His honesty reminds me a bit of Klopp.

Adams and Aaronson both got their first playing time with Leeds today during a preseason game.  Aaronson started and played the first 45, Adams subbed in at half.  Millions of subs so I think almost everyone who dressed played.

this would be his best chance to make the roster IMO.  Staying at Bayern assures him not making it but taking a flyer on an EPL club that maybe he could get some minutes as, even as a sub, would increase his chances quite a bit.

I’m not that familiar with his game but what are the chances he will earn minutes in the PL?  
I would rather see any 20 year old go to a lower profile league where minutes are more of a certainty.

Chances of minutes at a bottom half team would be low IMO.  Probably would function as a sub and have to earn minutes that way.

I am in agreement on the minutes stance.

But at least if he moves to a lower table team in the EPL, his chances at minutes are much higher than his chances for minutes at Bayern (which has to be close to 0 I would think).

He really seems to make some nice runs and I feel he is showing a lot more with his feet too. Initially, he was scoring predominantly from headers.

Manchester City want him to have regular game time while they signed Ortega as new second goalkeeper.

He needs to play. And Middlesbrough is amongst the favorites for promotion so let’s go, Zack.
