US Men's National Team (6 Viewers)

Here is the lineup. Formation is your guess, maybe Weah at LWB? Wish it was Balogun starting though

==========

Freese; M Robinson, McKenzie, Richards, Freeman, Sands, Roldan, McKennie, Pulisic, Wright, Weah

It will be fluid but something like this maybe?

…………………Freese

……..Miles…..Richards…..McKenzie

Freeman……Sands…..Roldan………Weah

………………Weston……….Pulisic

…………………….Wright
I'm actually ok with this lineup.
A rare all right footed starting line up. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Roldan may have played his best half of soccer ever for the US. He was unfortunately involved with 4 other players who fell asleep on the Australia goal but outside of that he was excellent on both sides of the ball.

It took Pulisic getting hurt for things to open up but for some reason the Luna sub seemed to bring Roldan directly into the game.

At this point, i want somebody to take one for the team and two footed tackle one of those guys from behind. Seems to be legal today, so why not.
Im being serious, btw.

**** them.
100%. Especially in a friendly. But I agree someone needs to send a message back that you don’t have impunity to foul our players.
I was that guy.

And i was generally a softy on the field. But pull that kind of **** on a teammate and Id break legs...on or off the ball. College so-called enforcer teammate called me the toughest ***** hed ever seen.

We don't have a Germany Jones on squad though. It's why I'm sad that Miazga never made the leap. He had that mentality. So did Hoppe.

I don’t know if Poch will do it, but I would love to see Balogun and Tillman at the 60 minute mark if we are still tied. It would be nice to get a win. I would hate to see two games in a row that the US is clearly the better team and only get draws.

Richards gave the ref a look that said...**** it- youre going to call it that way, I'm in. Im hoping he is.

Miazga is a good call. We don’t have many players with Concacaf instincts any more. Miazga and Acosta may be the last of a dying breed.

Johnny may have extra vacation time next summer

We changed formations. McKennie dropped into the midfield to form a triangle instead of up high on wing. It completely changed the midfield.

Re: The Enforcer aspect...

We appear to be playing to not get hurt.

The US is in a unique position (unique in the sense that its new-ish to The senior squad) that we have a decent amount of high earning foreign club players. I'd be fairly certain that these players have been told (asked) to chill. I'd also be fairly certain they want to chill to not affect their club values for friendlies. Meaningful cup games or the like, game on.

Eta: mkennie has been that guy. He seems to be holding it in...on purpose

:bye: says Wright

That was an ugly game but still nice to get a win.

That is now 3.5 games in a row where the US has been clearly the better team. Just need to turn more of these into 3 points.

We are guaranteed to get a team like Australia or Paraguay in our group.
