Bonus - I don't have to hear Friedel tell me that the next goal in a 2-0 match is so important because he doesn't think a team will come back from being down 3-0.

 
Stuart Holden commenting about Wood scoring down the middle.  I've got an idea, let's continue to play him out of position on the wing.

 
Obviously you can't complain about a 3-0 score line.

I actually don't think CR played that poorly either.  The Pk was really stupid though, Kareem would not have got that header that they pushed Wood on.

Good to see Fab and Yedlin get involved offensively unlike what happened against Colombia.

Players are getting behind Yedlin too easily.  I think 3 or 4 times in the first half they got the baseline on him.  That is eventually going to get turned into a goal.

Brooks has been really solid again.

Bradley just playing normal is a big improvement from the previous game.

 
Wood went down easy, but two hands in the middle of the back is gonna get you rung up most of the time.

And then, yowza.  Been awhile since they looked like this in an important match.  In the last 20 minutes of the half they broke through the first line and were running at the defense in numbers at least 7-8 times.  Beautiful to watch.

The guy is so much more comfortable in the middle.  He has every attribute of a striker and none of a wide player.  Dempsey can do what he does out wide just as well, so I still think they should switch..

 
I still think this team gets better with Nagbe on for Bedoya and Pulisic on for Zardes.  It is nice to see the team play well (granted they were expected to win this game) and still have improvement options.

It was nice to see Wood score.  Before that the combined age of our two goal scorers was 67 :)

 
Johnson and Bedoya need to come off. Both have yellows and two means you miss a game. Also take off one of the old guys, Duece, Jones, or Bradley. Let the kids get some good run of play the rest of the game.

Johnson almost assuredly needs to come off.  The drop off from Fab to Castillo is much bigger than the drop off from Bedoya to Nagbe (which actually might be scored in the negatives) and we still need to get something off of Paraguay.   Every good thing that happened tonight will be wiped off the slate with a loss to Paraguay.

keep them both on - rather lose them in the last group game - though Johnson would essentially be a red card if he gets a yellow in the 2nd

 
Sorry if this was covered before but how come Saturday matches ( and other final matchups in group play) aren't being played simultaneously?  Better chance for second match.of day to be meaningless to at least one team

best I can guess is that Fox and Univision negotiated this away making sure they can maximize their ratings with out games cannibalizing each other.

 
commentators are awful - flag went up for the guy who touched the ball off the post - he was offside.  Had it gone in, it was a goal.
