be cool if he could get in a sub appearance in first possible game

Kicker reporting that Tyler Adams will be in RB Leipzig's 18 on Saturday against Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund
as a brand new guy in an important role, I can't imagine that happening- but yeah, would be great.

found this quote from the coach that sounds promising.

RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick with some words on Tyler Adams.. "[Adams] will definitely be in the squad (vs. BVB). We are very happy that he has only been here with us for almost two weeks, and it's clear that he is not a player who needs forever until he feels comfortable."

Normally I would ignore this but this is the exact same reporter who had Steffen going to Man City weeks before anyone else.

It is being reported that Liverpool are preparing a 20m pound bid for Weston.

great interview with Tab.

He drops a lot of nuggets here like he thinks Mendez could move to the full national team in a few months.  He also does not hide his feelings too much on the idea that some MLS teams won't release players for the U20 WC.

well worth a read to hear his thoughts on Kelman, the full national team players who are still eligible for the U20 WC, his thoughts on Carleton and much much more

Congratulations to Haji Wright who has been fully promoted from the U23’s to Schalke’s first team.

Dave van den Burgh has reportedly been hired as the new US-U17 National Team coach. Van den Burgh was the former U15 and U19 YNT head coach and played professionally for 14 years in the Netherlands, Spain, and the US.

huh. I guess that shows he's improving- something we've been concerned about (or they're thin at his position due to injuries/whatever). I'm happy for him, also worried that 1st team inclusion will mean less minutes in games... or can he still play for the B team?

I don't know what the rules are in Germany but I would think if he rarely gets rostered and or sub minutes, they will let him play for the U23 team as well.

A record 8 American's have scored in the Bundesliga this season.

Pulisic, Weston, Haji, Brooks, Morales, Fab, Sargent, and Wood.

Sargent came in again as a sub today in the last ten minutes and helped Werder kill off a 1-0 lead.  He drew two fouls including a yellow card, both of which killed time.  Good to see his coach trusts him in a late game situation where defense and work rate are paramount.

Duane Holmes started and scored for Derby today.  He played 87 minutes in the 2-1 win.   Derby are in 6th (promotion playoffs).

Holmes has been playing as well as anyone overseas and is really hoping for his first call up.

Lampard on @DuaneHolmes: “There is a lot more to come. His natural pace, ability and desire makes him invaluable, and he is improving all the time.”

I think this is two in a row for him.  Very nice to see.

=========

100% dribble success

100% tackle success

3 interceptions

1 key pass

1 goal

Another Man of the Match display from @DuaneHolmes!

Some good news for CCV - did not start, but came on at 21' and helped the Swans keep a clean sheet against 3rd place Sheffield United.

I don't know how serious the injury was to Rodon, so I don't know if this will open up more playing time for CCV.  BHut, good to see him take advantage of the opportunity.

CP got 15-20 today to help protect a 1-0 lead for the victory. Looked good , even if in more defensive duty.

Eta...no Adams

On the bandwagon yet?
If he can be trained as a number 9, I would love that given our lack of strikers.  I just don't see him yet as a difference maker as a wide player.  His strength continues to be his off the ball movement of which he is elite amongst US players and something Berhalter will like.

Sounds like he made the most of his time

Cameron Carter-Vickers (for Joe Rodon) - A very composed figure at the back after being thrust into the limelight due to Rodon's injury. Hugely impressive showing. 7

Looks like CCV will get an extended chance to build on this performance as Rodon will be out for a while

"He has broken his metatarsal, so he is out for six weeks," said Potter.

I think we're in the same wait and see boat about him. Some fantastic upside with pace, good skills and moments of elite soccer iq. My favorite things about him is his aggression going forward, and his ability to combine with other guys who share that soccer iq.... He's had some really nice moments with Sargent. I think this where getting time in training with players like neymar upped a game that was already there..

But then he plays young and stupid too, routinely making the wrong decisions. But I'm hoping regular minutes and experience/age sharpen or minimize those mistakes out of his game.

Miazga is in London today with Chelsea to terminate the Nantes loan.
oh this sounds bad :(

USMNT defender Matt Miazga is back in London to terminate his loan deal with FC Nantes. Nantes manager Vahid Halilhodzic says Miazga didn't tell anyone he was leaving, he just simply left without saying a word. Ugly way to end a drama-filled loan spell

yeesh.

who knows what the truth truth is at this point, but that's not a way to leave- however badly you think you've been treated.

The truth is hard to discern from this mess.  I'm not inclined to believe anything the new Nantes coach says on this, so take it all with a big grain for now.  The main thing at this point I think is that Miazga and Chelsea have 9 days to find him a good loan.  He's 23, so the Chelsea academy is not a great place for him to spend the next 6 months, and there's probably no room for him on the senior team.  Championship or Germany would be ideal, but opportunities for steady minutes are not easy to find this time of year.

what about his old loanee team, vitesse? he had a good run there and at least wouldn't take much to fit back in

I don't know the rules on these things, but it may be a problem that Chelsea already has 3 players on loan at Vitesse.  He was very good there and they loved him.  Kind of like Jozy though - success in the Eredivisie can be deceiving ...

it is has been a very strange loan.  It started out well and then almost to the minute the new coach was hired, Miazga was tossed away with no chances to prove himself.

No one wants to see a player move backwards but he has to play.  If he doesn't find a Championship levelish type team, I would be ok with him even in a Scotland just to play.

that's why I was thinking Vitesse- as a place he's a known quantity. but yeah- anywhere, really.
