Not reserves, 3rd string.   Charlotte had 26 on the bench as I recall and everyone played.  The kid who drew the PK is 16 yo.

You should watch the highlights, one of the Charlotte guys hopped into the air and then struck the ball on the way down for his PK.  Never seen anything like it.

I don’t know the “real” rules, but if the guy made one continuous move towards the ball, that’s good with me. It’s the herky-jerky stutter step dance-move bull crap that I think should be disallowed.

Should be like a balk call. You pause and you’re done. 
 

I could be talked into giving the goalie a “three Mississippi” running start at you too if you take too long.

 
US U17 starlet Cruz Medina (he is only 15) got his first minutes for San Jose last night against Celta Vigo.  This kid has amazing feet.  Great dribbler of the ball.

He won the golden ball for the U15 league of MLS Next as the best player in the league.  San Jose signed him this summer to a home grown contract.

Hard to judge a 15 year old because there is so much development to go. But if Medina passes Tsakiris (a 2006 that looked decent for the U20s playing up 2 years) at SJ, well, then we have a pretty good idea of the talent level.

 
Looks like Richards completed his medical today. Announcement could come in a couple of days. 
 

Big opportunity for him. I know GGG likes Long but I think Richards could be the better player for Qatar

Leeds United close to appointing former Borussia Dortmund assistant Rene Maric as Jesse Marsch's new number two. Talks were held with Chris Armas but Maric is in line to join the coaching staff.

The highlights I have seen of Musah for Valencia this summer look to have him playing a very similar 8 role that we want him to play in Qatar.  They have used him almost exclusively on the wing but I think the move to the 8 may see him have a strong start to the season I hope.

Good to see these guys finding some rhythm. 

Nips with the great pressure, steal, calm collected dribbling the ball clear and great pass to set that up for Jesus.

Watxhng Hajis goal earlier and remembering his very limited play for the US (despite GGG throwing him weirdly under the bus), I still think he's our guy in terms of fox in the box, decent target man, and good ability to combine. Jesus' to lose at this point, but I think 8f Haji keeps up last seasons form like this, will be hard to keep him off the field.

And I'm hoping the rest of the guys continue to make the same statement they've been making this summer so far.

I really appreciate the Berhalter quote in the middle of the article and them still not realizing he's American. Going to be a lot of disappointed ManU fans when they find out they are buying a Yank.

I know a lot of the players have grumbled about him and he's gotten into it at both Dortmund and PSG with management, I just am surprised at suggesting he doesn't have the players to compete. 

Btw, Pulisic looked invisible in the bit I watched last night but Chelsea in general look like a club that don't want to play for their manager.

It is ironic that the opposing team was upset over the quick free kick because they were too busy complaining about the initial call instead of just getting back on defense.

Surprised Crystal Palace hasn't announced the signing of USMNT CB Chris Richards from Bayern Munich yet. Deal long agreed/medical done/paperwork signed Friday. Was assuming the announcement was coming yesterday, but alas, nothing yet.
