Looked like he went high on purpose, kind of lifting it over the thigh of the defender. If he'd gone on the ground it would've had to be too far behind Vazquez to get around the defender's feet.

Traditinally the top players for the best teams in CONCACAF don't play in the Gold Cup. The reasons vary.

For our team I would say the stars have earned some rest and many are working on team changes of some type. It is also a nice chance to see how the next group of players are looking and who may be ready to step up if/when needed.

I've always been a fan. Can probably find 3 or 4 dozen posts throughout this threat of me defending him. Wish he could've combined the quality of crosses of this year with his outright speed and ability to push and get into good position to center of his younger days.

Yedlin showed really low soccer IQ to pair with a his top end speed. His crosses were often overhit and he only got bailed out from poor positioning with his speed.
