An unbelievable league campaign.

Charlie Kelman was officially presented with his @SkyBetLeagueOne Golden Boot today, following his incredible goal scoring season

Kelman has the only goal so far in the League One promotion playoff semi final first leg.

It was a very controversial goal as it sounds like he was in an offside position. I have not seen a highlight yet. Does League One not use VAR?
I don't know if he was offsides. It's close

Kelman also had a late penalty to tie it at 2-2
oh that was MUCH closer that I expected given the out rage I saw online. VAR would have had to do the vasectomy to a fly to get that one right.
To me, he's onside from the pass pretty clearly. The question is whether or not his teammate touched it with his head when it was coming through. Can't tell from those angles IMO.

From the stills, it's pretty apparent that the ball is flicked on. Tough for the linesman to see though. I can see why it was missed. VAR would've caught it, but they don't have VAR in the EFL. Only the Premier League.

And an idiotic red card from a Juve defender... So Juve will have to absorb and defend v Lazio

This is a huge game for euro placement.. I think they're tied on points sitting 4rh and 5th.

Ans unsurprisingly they give up a 97th minute equalizing goal.

Juve have a CB with a mustache and Portuguese sounding last name who has been dreadful whenever I see him. Partially at fault here. Along with extremely lax defending in front of their box to allow the cross to come in so easily (Vlahovic had subbed in at some point and was basically walking around at the top of the box, making the MFs who'd already played 90 do the chasing.

We probably should talk about Dest today.

He was on the bench yesterday to start the game. PSV went down by 2 fairly quickly.

Dest subbed in for Richie in the middle of the first half and sounds like he played very well.

PSV came back and eventually won the game 3-2 in the 99th minute.

Dest was named to the Eredivisie team of the Week by ESPN.

Last week, Dest made a comment in an interview that may be disturbing. He was asked about how he felt rejoining the USMNT for the Gold Cup and said while he really wants to play again for the Nats, that Poch has not contacted him even once since he took over.

On the one hand, Dest has been hurt and off the radar but on the other hand, what the **** is Poch doing with all his free time if he can’t reach out and ask an injured former regular National Team starter how he is feeling?

Anyway, let’s hope that his good play will lead to a start. PSV has battled back big time. 3 games ago, they were a distant 9 points back of Ajax but today sit just 1 point out of first with two games to go. I think PSV also holds the tie breaker in case they finish level on points.

Let US Soccer know that I sm available to serve as liaison to Serginho. Contacting him daily about how fire he looks on YouTube and Instagram. Telling him Poch “really loved that TikTok dance.”

Keeping Serginho in the right goofy headspace is imperative.

Per @TuttoMercatoWeb , Roma are eyeing Chicago Fire’s Brian Gutierrez.

The 21-year-old has 3 goals in 8 games this season, averaging 4.6 duels won and 2 chances created per match.

Gutierrez has been a key man for Chicago since he was 18 and made his debut for the USMNT in January. His market value currently estimated to be around $6M.

I assume CP starts. Their only chance at Europe.
Apparently some model still gives them a 0.3% chance of 4th and a 4.1% chance of 5th. They need to win out, have Juve fall on their face, and get a couple other matches to fall their way. So, realistically you're right, but they could have some crazy last minute salvation.

Or just beat Bologna, which would be prudent. And yeah, CP seems like a lock to start.

As usual, watching PSV's attack is a thing of beauty and watching AC Milan's is...not so much.

It's like the Milan coaches and players don't understand...I'm not even sure what to call it...it's not 'physics' or 'advanced tactics'...it's like they don't understand the properties of straight lines and the concept of distance.

They're actually looking pretty fluid in the attack, but there are still so many times where an outside back has a choice to pass straight back to the central defender on their side or can make an open pass straight across to the opposite side...and they choose the backwards pass.

Team shape usually looks bad to me. Ball goes wide to CP, and there's never a triangle or even an option in the middle- so it's either back pass, or dribble middle or forward.

I need to turn the game on.

Pulisic yellow carded on a play where he clearly got fouled. Unless I misheard, this is the first time in a while that I've heard broadcasters flat out say "this is just a bad, bad referee" (not "bad call")
Yeah I get that the yellow's for dissent, but he clearly got fouled and his reaction was nowhere near over the top. Ridiculous decision by the ref.

Ajax with one of the all time great chokes here. Up 9 points with 5 games to go, they are now in second, down a point with 1 game to go. They have only managed 2 points in their last 4 games where as PSV has swept all 4.

PSV now controls their own fate with a game to go.

Cavan was subbed in late tonight in a 2-2 game and was involved in the winning goal in the 96th minute (no assist, but nice to be involved none the less)

As a side related note to this game, the Galaxy misery continues as they are finding new ways to lose each week, tonight coughing up a 2-0 in the second half.
