maybe he just had some bad fish and chips in the UK and he's fine now.

Apparently Vernon Davis is not fine, thus the reason for my original question.

Two of the last three games he has completely ineffective while in the game, and he finished both of these times with only 1 catch and essentially "zero" points from any fantasy perspective.

The 49ers & Davis are not disclosing the full extent of his injury. Can any SF homers please shed some light on this?

between ankle issues and crappy QB play Vernon has fallen way down IMO....I'm actually going with Gresham over him...ugh

Thw wrong Smith is at QB for Vernon. Vernon was Alex Smith safety net and got the looks. Troy Smith does not use the TE as much.

Do we know the issue is an injury or is it just that Troy Smith doesn't go his way? Either way, his targets have really dropped and he's not producing.

If the 49ers and Davis himself aren't disclosing the full extent of his injury as you say, why would any "SF homers" be able to help?

I don't think his ankle is the reason he sucked. It was because the playcalling and offensive line were both atrocious. He left in the 4th quarter last game and didn't come back...it was the third time this year he's twisted that ankle.

I imagine he'll play this week...but if the playcalling doesn't improve it won't really matter.

ETA - he claims it isn't serious and will play.
