Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (9 Viewers)

From Ashes is ok. Most of it you can YouTube but if you want Javik on your team its the only way to get him. The mission to get him is forgettable.
I was really bummed with From Ashes and Javik. Feel like they really shoehorned it in at the last minute to sell a few extra copies. "look guys a living prothean!"
Its actually the opposite. Javik was built into the game from the get go. A whole section of the ship is inaccessible without the dlc. A lot of the lore on missions is provided by Javik. They decided relatively last second to pull that portion out and make people pay an extra $10 for something that was already in the game.

Resogun high score up to 125M Good for 160 in the world. Lost my combo in world 3. Feel like 150M is possible with a better run.
Nice! My high score is, um, less than that.
:goodposting: I'm proud of having beaten the game on "normal" (whatever it's called). I won't be appearing on any leaderboards any time soon.
223M 33rd Think I'm topped out there though. How some of these guys get 600+M I have NO idea.

I started Bioshock Infinite today. But then I swung by Gamestop and picked up Rage and Farcry 3 based on stuff I read here. I have to admit, just reading the back of the Rage case, I may have to put Bioshock on hold again. I like the sound of the story and setting in Rage.

Just bought madden for $25, Alice: Return to Madness for $7, and the 12 month subscription on Amazon for $40. They need to stop with all these sales!!!

Never played Rage, but Far Cry 3 >> Bioshock Infinite.

RAGE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bioshock Infinite.

Installing Rage now. Taking forever. Copies the whole DVD to the HD or something? Had to clear space as the first install failed. Ugh.

Borrowing a friends PS3 and a bunch of game. I mostly want to play Demon Souls. What other games are must plays? This is the first time I'll be playing a PS3 ( other then madden at friends houses) since I sold mine 2 or 3 years after release.

I know Last of Us is a given , what else ?

Hard rain? Heavy rain ?

Besides Last of Us (in my queue but I haven't played it yet), you'll want to check out Uncharted. If you only have time to play a few games, skip the first one.

Demon's Souls is obviously going to eat up a huge amount of your time. And yeah, The Last of Us is a no-brainer. Uncharted is another one to pick up, and maybe MGS4.

Heavy Rain is okay and something to pop in when you want relaxation as opposed to the Demon's Souls experience. You can breeze through it in a weekend.

About to fire up Borderlands 2 - never played any of the games :excited:
you are going to love it! You might miss a little impact from certain NPC's you meet by not playing the first game but you are still going to have a blast.

Loot loot loot, some nice laughs and more loot!

Note to self. Rage is not Demon Souls. You can, and should, save. Often. Lost an hour or so of play because I am so used to Demon Souls that I never once saved. So when I died, back to the checkpoint. Felt like an idiot. Does remind me of Fallout a lot. In fact, I almost feel like I am playing Fallout again.

Tomb Raider is another excellent play. Bioshock if you haven't already. Dead Space. inFamous.
Infamous is the only exclusive there (I think, never played DS) and isn't anything to write home about.

Wild hunch here, but something tells me that mobbin has played Bioshock.

Playing AC4 Black Flag on my new Xbox One. In Sequence 3 right now and kind of just leaving the main story alone exploring. Ship combat is so much fun. Next I want to harpoon some loveable sea creatures.

i suck at this
Took me awhile to figure out that you should always be selling extra guns or shields when you get to a vending machine. On every mission, you'll pick up 2 or more new guns so it helps to have a few empty spots in your backpack. This is easier way to build up bankroll than picking up the yellow $'s in loot boxes. Likewise, once you start collecting elysium, upgrade the size of your backpack first and foremost. It was rare that I'd run out of ammo on more than 1 gun class.

Loved this game.

Had a good weekend in Vegas so bought a PS4. Ordering up Marvel Legos. What else should I start with? Leaning BF4 or Black Flag. Anything new about to drop?

I had BF4 on XBO, but got bored with it pretty quick. I think I'm over the FPS genre right now. I just bought Tomb Raider for the PS4, but haven't played it yet... supposed to be as good as the prior gen versions, but with better graphics. Thief comes out in a few weeks which has been getting some hype.

How do you like it ? I avoided this like the plague because I thought it was just another bullet storm. I seem to remember a lot of hype and some let downs but it's been awhile.

Lately between your post and a few others I'm intrigued.

Rage was good. Up until the end. The end really sucked I enjoyed the game play though.

I'm amazed you guys can play this on consoles, I suck at shooters on them. I just finished BL2 on PC and loved the hell out of it. Can't imagine how bad I would have been trying to play on my PS3.

And if you enjoy it, look into some of the DLC's. I normally don't get them, but I really wasn't done playing yet so I got the season pass and I think most of them were well worth it.

I expected FO:NV, and got it along with a healthy dose of Borderlands. That's the way it feels in my early play. Would have preferred more of the former, less of the latter. But I am hoping the story picks up as I move along.

So the question is:

Mass Effect Trilogy or Fallout 3/New Vegas?
Both are two of my favorite series in the last decade but I give the nod to ME for me. The story telling is just far and away better even though Fallout has so much more to do.

If you want an outstanding storyline, ME. If you want to be able to wander around and do what you want, exploring some pretty cool places, then FO:NV. They are really quite different experiences.

The Good:

This is visually one of the most pleasing games I have ever played. Climbing viewpoints to remove the 'fog of war' over this city is one of the most visually satisfying experiences in video games. The attention to detail in the cities, particularly the architectural detail, is remarkable and truly captures the essence of what life must have looked like in Italy at the turn of the 15th century. And the architecture truly enhances the joy of free running and performing amazing feats of acrobatic skill on the rooftops of the cities.

The story is also very impressive and it is obvious that the gamemakers put a massive amount of effort into researching historical individuals and crafting them into central characters that drive the plot without sacrificing their understood role in history.

The Bad:

The character control dynamics on the PC are a nightmare. I think I have died once at the sword of an enemy and probably 20 times attempting a rooftop jump in one direction only to see my character seemingly commit suicide by flying off the building in an entirely different direction. It takes a ton of effort to master the free running/jumping controls and it has been a frustrating experience. To make matters worse the optional in game control guides, which flash the key/mouse strokes necessary to complete a specific move all appear to be geared for console controllers. For example to swing your primary weapon the game only shows a blue circle with a clenched fist inside of it, which does no one using a keyboard/mouse a lick of good. Eventually I figured out what it all meant but the process was a PITA.

Overview:

This a an excellent game that has a lot going for it and I am interested in playing the sequels but if you have no patience for figuring out wonky controls then this probably isn't the game for you.

Control is much better using a controller, I use a 360 controller in a game like this and have played it on both PC and console.

Yeah I know that I need to learn to work a controller but have been hesitant to do so partly because of the learning curve but mostly the fact that it is really difficult to convince your girlfriend that you have a really important work project to finish when you are holding a game controller.

So after months of not playing i finally decide to get back into GTA5. Turn on game, i have a bunch of patches i need to download. Do that, 5 minutes pass. Game starts up, load screen takes another 5 minutes. Game loads, drive to mission, watch scene, drive to starting point, Trevor is pissed. STArt mission, die, start again die, start again, finally get into house, die, start from checkpoint, game feezes ####. Restart ps3, load screen again, drive to same mission, skip cutscene, drive to start point, start mission, get into house, one guy left to kill, die. Start from checkpoint, game freezes ####. Shut the ps3 pff in disgust. 45 minutes ill never get back.

Oh and one thing i HATE. About gta is i cant read the ####### text. Its so small. I feel like im going blind after playing. Not sure if i can start this up again
