Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (7 Viewers)

Been casually playing Loadout, new F2P third person shooter game on Steam, I'm enjoying it.
That looks to be a ton of fun. If I weren't so busy right now, I'd play it. I definitely will eventually.
I'm enjoying it, surprisingly fast paced for a third person shooter, the game is currently 4v4 which I'm not a huge fan of if a person leaves a game you instantly become seriously handicapped. The game very much reminds me of a mix between TF2 and Borderlands, the gun customization has fake depth, four types of guns (rifle, pulse, beam and rocket) as well as five elements (slug, tesla, fire, healing and a buffing type called juice). On top of that guns have a series of attachments that change the way weapons behave for example you could have a sniper or scatter barrel for your rifle and turn it into a sniper or shotgun.

The problem is most of it is fluff, many of the attachments aren't even sidegrades when you consider the other gun types do exactly what you want so instead of swapping attachments you just swap the type of gun; add to this that one of your choices for an equipment items is an overshield that effectively doubles your health will discharge in a shot or two from a tesla element weapon literally forces you to have a tesla weapon in your loadout, because as you could imagine -- double health is a considerable advantage.

These are just my observations so far, probably 10-15 hours in game. The game is still in beta so its entirely possible re-balancing will be ongoing for a while.

Was gonna give TESO one more shot, holy crap did I make a mistake uninstalling the beta client, its twice as big as it was last year :bs:

If the zones aren't restricted during the stress test weekend ill be making a Dunmer and Nord character, Ebonheart pact best pact.

Not saying I'm gonna be making a 8 foot tall warrior women, but I'm totally gonna be making a 8 foot tall warrior women.

Is that like two midget women together chicken fighting?

I was cleaning out my mother in law's attic the other weekend and found an OG NES. I feel like I should hang it on the wall of my TV/video game room as homage to the past.

I installed mine in my basement bathroom wall. With a built in SD TV.

SMITE is currently my MOBA du jour. I've been rocking the beta lately, really enjoy the Arena mode.

Theme = Gods and goddesses from many, many mythologies. Very, very deep pool of potential playables, and the abilities are very nice fits to the characters. Gameplay = Instead of topdown MOBA like Dota or LoL, this controls like World of Warcraft or a FF game. You use QWER to move, not mouseclicks. It is a third-person perspective like WoW or Final Fantasy, and most abilities are AoE cones or skillshot circles. Modes = Conquest, which is like Dota's main map, with the turrets and lanes and all. But Arena is the really fun one for me. It's a one room, deathmatch brawl 5v5 action. My link

I still follow the eSports scene for LoL and Dota2, but playing them has felt very grindy for a while. SMITE was like a breath of fresh air.

In other news, I want WildStar and EQ Next Landmark access.

wut

I want an MMO that is completely sandbox and doesn't corral you into dungeons every 5 levels. If they remade Ultima Online to modern day UI and graphics, I'd be all over that.

It's Minecraft for EQ Next, dunno if that's more along your lines.
This looks interesting thanks. Loved minecraft. When I feel that itch again, I many give it a shot.

It's essentially UO and Garriot is running it.

The question is for why? He had abandoned gaming entirely saying it was part of his life but he was moving on and got all into the Astronaut thing, I think even going to space. Then bam he pops up and starting pan handling kickstarter for a few hundred K. Now he has 3+ mil in the coffers.

I don't like him building a vessel to make more money by for the sake of making more money on the buck of the very same people.

So I don't like that because its either the most evil or genius thing Ive ever seen. Now I know this isn't anything new but I guess I thought Kickstarter was more for people who don't already have a ton of loot to begin with.

because any game developer who doesn't take his shot on a game with free kickstarter money right now is a fool. need to get while the getting is good!

literally the only thing that will matter to me is if the game is any good.

FACT: The NES Advantage was the greatest console controller ever.
I'd use the NES Max over the Advantage every time. The Advantage was a great controller, but I hated using it for the same reason people hate playing a mouse/keyboard on a TV. You either had to put it on your lap or a table to use and I didn't like that. But we did own it and it got used on occasion. We owned 4 NES Max's. That's how much we loved and accepted that one.

Growing up with the NES, I probably owned every first and third-party controller in existance too. I never found a third-party controller worth a damn for the NES.

And I haven't seen it mentioned, but Titanfall on Xbox 360 has been delayed until March 25th. The Xbox One and PC version are still scheduled to drop on March 11.

And IIRC, a different developer is handling the 360 version so make sure you look befor you leap on that one.

About six hours in to Rage and it seems to be getting a bit repetitious. Probably because I am just doing side missions. I suppose I need to advance the main story line. I have the mission to upgrade my defib. Guess it is time to knock it out.

Spent last night on ESO Beta taking a dark elf Nightblade to level 6 and today taking an Orc Dragon Knight to level 5.

Somewhat fun but I'm not seeing the allure of shelling out money on a monthly basis to play.

Lately I've been playing Uncharted 2, Prototype 2 & Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. All of those games have very easy novice settings. That's the only way I can play these dang games now. I just don't have the finger dexterity or patience to play most of the newer games. Also, I'm getting to where I'm terrible at the quick time events. I'm just getting old!

Another one that I've enjoyed watching others play DayZ.

I did 3 dungeon runs (to flesh out some gear spots) and then have been doing Realm vs Realm all evening. Quite a bit of fun. Very tactical at times.

Might be at that point but it's a grind at the early levels

I'd also say that the learning curve is pretty steep with very little to guide you. If I didn't have 15 years of Elder Scrolls under my belt, I'd be completely lost

Just saw a page on IMDB for Assassin's Creed the movie which is apparently planned for 2015 with Michael Fassbender attached.

i stink at bl2
watch your shields. when they go, get behind cover.

jump. keep moving. learn your favorite power combos and use them as often as possible.
Trying to take on "Mercy" right now with my assassin. There must be a way to get behind these guys carrying a shield but I haven't been able to master it.

This game is so much better than Far Cry 3 it's amazing Ubisoft did them both.

Took a character from each faction to level 10 this weekend for the second time. Agree completely about the subscription, the only thing really keeping me in the game is the setting, the game itself is not that fun.

Combat system is pretty poor and unpolished... still, which ill give them the benefit of the doubt and say we're using an old build for the stress test. Hate how restrictive the skill system is, you get five skills and an ultimate, at least when you swapped weapons in GW2 you also swapped skills giving you 14 or 16 active skills, I can't remember specifically.

It must be said however, the game is beautiful and I'm running it at med-high.

Likely won't be buying, definitely not if they keep the subscription model -- I can't justify spending money on top of the purchase to play a game that is roughly five times the size of Skyrim with about a tenth of the depth (which is saying a lot considering Skyrim was babies first elder scrolls.)
