It is a GotY candidate for me. Fantastic game.Anybody play Ori and the Blind Forest? Surprisingly addictive for such a simple game.

They both hurt in their own way regardless of the decisions you make.Better than Rannoch IMO. Wrex was my bro.Just finished Priority: Tuchanka again.

I lost Mordin and Legion
inducing scene. The soundtrack in this sequence is awesome.Drifter, I think I read that one of the upgrades this year was that you will be able to carry over your franchises each year, so you aren't starting from scratch with every new version of the Show. Do you know if the RTTS will be carried over as well? Those are usually my favorite things to do with the game, but I always found that by the time your player was decent, the new game was out and you started over.Bull Dozier said:I really have to get this. I loved playing this aspect of the game on the 2K baseball game, but the lack of variation left something to be desired. This sounds awesome.Drifter said:My RF for the Twins got benched about 3 weeks before the All-Star game in favor of a guy with a rating 15 pts below him. I think it's likely because of a couple games where I had an error or two and got picked off on 2nd due to controller issues (Was on first, pick off move came and was thrown over the 1st basemen's head. I pushed up on the stick to advance to 2nd but the ball went out of play and the switch to me being advanced to 2nd was so fast that it took my push as an effort to steal 3rd before the pitch - has happened multiple times. Along with the abrupt change in view when a ball goes over your head in the outfield they may be my two biggest controller gripes in the game). Anyway, the benching cost me my spot on the All-Star team in my rookie year so now I'm requesting trades again. Will be interesting to see if there's a notion of getting a reputation as a bad egg if I manage to get on my 3rd team in just my rookie year while leading the league in average.Drifter said:I'm still just playing the hell out of The Show. I have 3 RTTS going - a starting pitcher, a power Right Fielder and a contact/speed Center Fielder. The Right Fielder is who I play the most. Made it to the bigs after Spring Training in his 2nd year but the Padres were platooning him and only giving him occasional starts despite the fact that he was tearing it up. After enough #####ing to management about playing time and getting a trade, they sent him to the Twins where he's a full time starter and adding some serious hitting to an already strong pitching rotation.
My Diamond Dynasty has stalled out because I've been getting crap for cards. Haven't gotten one good enough to put on the roster for a while now. Upside is that I've built out my customer guy by feeding him crappy cards to the point that he's the best on the team by far. May stop that to try and collect some team cards for the special players.
Which one? Sands of Time holds up very well. From my wish list,
Prince or Persia is $6
No advice but it looks like a cool game and gets good reviews. It's on my to buy list.Just got Shadow of Mordor. Looking forward to getting into that this weekend.
Any advice for a newbie?
No it's the 2008 version.Which one? Sands of Time holds up very well. From my wish list,

I already have it for free and donated to the dev team through their site. I don't like having to pay for it again when it's the same thing. But it's worth it for those that haven't played Black Mesa and especially if you've never experienced the original Half-Life.Black Mesa is also on my radar for this sale.
I had the exact same issue. Download a free program called SakasaMouse, worked for me. You have to play with the options but you can invert the y axis only. It applies to your whole computer not just the game, so you have to turn it off when you're done.Just started Walking Dead Season 1. Is there any way to invert the y-axis in this game? It is driving me absolutely crazy and I feel like I am dying in extremely embarrassing fashion.
Turn based tactical like Heroes of Might and Magic or like XCom?Valkyria Chronicles is $4.99 on Steam.
If you like turn-based tactical combat (along with a good story), this is a great buy.
Tales from the Borderlands at the lowest price ever.
More like Xcom.Turn based tactical like Heroes of Might and Magic or like XCom?Valkyria Chronicles is $4.99 on Steam.

Big difference. I can't stand the former.

Sort of a WW2 story, interesting graphics (kind of Japanese-inspired cartoon / comic). The combat is military theme (snipers, front line, tanks, scouts, etc), and pure turn based. It looks a little goofy and innocent at first, but it's actually a pretty gritty game.
It's also fun.
I don't really play many games on the PC...I know, jwb said:Valkyria Chronicles is $4.99 on Steam.

I've only played in on PS3, but I can't see any reason it can't be controlled well w/ a mouse and keyboard.I don't really play many games on the PC...I know, jwb said:Valkyria Chronicles is $4.99 on Steam.

DL'ed Borderlands last night. Loved the opening stuff. Got into my first fight and had no idea what I was doing. The game kept yelling at me to "press 'UP' to raise shields". I have no idea what the UP button is on the PC. It's not the up arrow and it's not the 'w' key. So I stood there stupidly until I got killed. Game over.Sand said:Tales from the Borderlands at the lowest price ever.Mad Cow said:

That's a help, thanks. Still don't know what the shield button is. I'm referring to the first fight in Pandora when the robot is called down. I couldn't get him to defend himself. Here is a link to the keyboard control map I don't recall ever having to activate my shields, are you referring to your character's action skill? Because that activates with the F key. FWIW IMO there is nothing more entertaining (and devastating) in BL than Brick going berserk.
8 days total I think.New deals just dropped on Steam. Considering a Lego game or two for my son and maybe some Command and Conquer.
How long does this thing go on? My wife is going to kill me if I keep it up.
Was thinking the exact same thing with this game.Tempted to get This War of Mine for $7.99 but I know it will hit $4.99 at some point.
Steam sales make me cheap.
Yes - its an engine and a verification system for PC games. Not an OS. It is a ton better than some of the other methods out there to curb piracy. In general when getting a PC game I'd rather a Steam version than anything else because once it's in your library you can easily reinstall it somewhere else, etc. Valve has done a great job with it and, IMO, it's the reason PC gaming is very viable these days.So is "Steam" just a free download (for PC) that is the engine to run game downloads? Is it an operating system? Does it mean that you have to buy "steam" versions of games rather than the PC versions?
So then how is it different (or better) than just buying the PC version of the same game? I really don't do any PC gaming as I have an XBOX 360, but I recently bought the dongle that allows you to use those controllers with your PC, so I might start doing more of it (especially if the games are cheaper). If you are talking the New Order, I would say definitely. I played on the xbox one and it was a pretty good time. A surprisingly decent story as well.$15 for Wolfenstein worth it? I rarely go about $10 during these sales.
I have played nearly every one of the Lego games with my daughter. They are all similar in game play. So, I think I'll get my son one of the LEGO games. The Marvel game looks pretty cool. Are they all similar and the only difference is what characters you like? Or do some of them stand out above the others?
Gameplay similar between them (Hobbit, Batman, Harry Potter)?
If by "at some point" you mean 6 months from now, sure. You won't see it lower during this sale.Tempted to get This War of Mine for $7.99 but I know it will hit $4.99 at some point.

Fair enough. But I have seen in happen where they put a game up during the first day or two then it shows up for less on day seven or eight. If by "at some point" you mean 6 months from now, sure. True, but not when the game is priced that way on the Daily Deal or Flash Sale. I call GTA V the worst sale of the Summer Sale. It wasn't really a sale. They just give you free DLC (digital currency) at full price and call it a GTA sale! "25% to 75% off all GTA games" eh? BSFair enough. Either way, I can wait.
Portability, for the most part. That and during these sales some pretty good games are way, way cheaper than a console version. So then how is it different (or better) than just buying the PC version of the same game? Price point (for sales), ability to use a controller, modding, better resolutions and you don't need to buy the discs, which generally only let you install on one PC.Portability, for the most part. Try "e" button sometimes you have to face objective just right to get it activate. Can be annoying. That's a help, thanks. Still don't know what the shield button is.
