How does that work, is the game yours in perpetuity, or just while it's on special, or until you delete it?If you're a PlayStation Plus member there are some good specials going on. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is free right now.
I believe you keep the games as long as you're a Plus subscriber. I have a few free games downloaded to my system and some are a couple years old.How does that work, is the game yours in perpetuity, or just while it's on special, or until you delete it?
Yeah, sorry that was a bit of a "let me google that for you" question on my part. It sounds like a worthwhile deal at least to try out some of the PS VR games. Rigs is one I was looking at, unfortunately it was free the last 2 months but not now. And Until Dawn I'd be happy to give a try, I kind of wish I'd got that one instead of Skyrim as my bundle.I believe you keep the games as long as you're a Plus subscriber. What I love about purchasing games on their website is that I can do it from my office and have it download to my PS4 right away. When I get home the game is already installed. Pretty sweet.
This is why I was urging people to try it before you buy it. For me, although the graphics are nowhere near as good at a distance especially, things close up are easier for me to see. For instance, the traps on the floors of the dungeons that I used to trip over all the time and hit myself with spiked gates are now super-easy to avoid, as they're huge and evident rather than blending into the floor. I'm enjoying the VR version more than I enjoyed the regular PS4 version. It's going to differ from person to person, everyone has their own opinions on what is important and what makes a good gaming experience. I'm not an avid gamer by any stretch and am enthralled by the immersion of VR and don't care all that much about crisp graphics, so for me it's a no-brainer. For others, it's the opposite. So my advice to anyone looking at PSVR is to find a demo and play it for yourself. You should be able to determine rather quickly whether it's for you or not.I'm the opposite, and gave up on the Skyrim VR version. Other than the novelty, the game play is just bad compared to the normal one. :(
The visuals are ramped back about as far as they go. Lines are jagged and things are blocky. In the beginning part where you're escaping through the tower and caves, there are two coin pouches that didn't show on the screen at all though if I point my head to where they should be, it let me pick them up. Had I not played it so many times I knew where they were, there's no way I would have got them. I normally finish the walk to the first village with an inventory full of potion ingredients I've picked along the way. I only had a few this time because the graphics were so bad I could only spot the most obvious of flowers, butterflies, etc.
I went back to PC and started a new character and played through the same stretch, and it was just so much more enjoyable with a crisp appearance. Seeing details like the sunlight filtering through the trees and making shadows on the characters in the cart showed just how truly bad the VR's image was, where you are happy just to make out their facial features enough you could identify who they are.
As for other things... I tried the Playroom VR free download, played something that was like a 3d Legos or Mario Brothers. It was ok. Visuals were great, game play was just ok. I tried some 3D and 360 videos from LittleStar (a 3rd party media player) and from the Youtube app. Some good ones, some not so much. Apparently you can get the VR to handle Over-Under or possibly also Side-by-Side videos... I googled enough to see people had instructions but haven't gotten back to it to try it yet. I picked up Resident Evil 7 which is supposed to be a much better VR implementation than Skyrim, but I haven't started it yet as I was playing with some other stuff with it.
As far as watching a 3D blu ray, the image quality isn't as good as on the TV. But it's HUGE. For someone with a smaller TV I could see using the VR to watch movies, Netflix, etc as it's like having a 100" or 120" TV. I went back and forth watching stretches of Antman in 3D on my TV and on the VR, and I'd rather watch it on the TV for the crispness of the picture. I could see someone preferring the sheer size of the VR image, but I guess I put my preference on clear, crisp images and colors.
I find getting the headset on right is kind of finicky. If I get it JUST right then pretty much everything is in focus and clear. But it takes a bit of adjusting for me to find that spot. Just close leaves the edges fuzzy, and white lettering will have rainbow effects in it sometimes. (edit to add: I didn't find it for the first time until about the 5th time I'd used it, just thought it was always fuzzy at the edges.) I'm sure as I use it more that part will get better.
If I had it to do over, I'd probably have gotten an Oculus Rift now rather than waiting until I upgrade my graphics cards next year. Though I think there will be enough PS-only content I'll probably still get my money's worth out of the VR in the long run. Will let you know how Resident Evil looks.
ETA: I wonder if Skyrim VR visuals on the PS Pro is any better... it has better graphics processing doesn't it? I'm still on my original PS4 as I don't have a 4k TV.
Sell the Skyrim game online. You can probably get $40-50 for it lightly used. Take the profits and buy Until Dawn for $20 and use the balance to get something else.Yeah, sorry that was a bit of a "let me google that for you" question on my part. Where are good places for selling it online? Just ebay or are there good sites devoted to gamers?Sell the Skyrim game online. You can probably get $40-50 for it lightly used. Take the profits and buy Until Dawn for $20 and use the balance to get something else.
You can also list it for sale on Amazon, or just trade it in to them directly in exchange for store credit. I just traded in 4-5 games where the spread between what I could sell it for on ebay/amazon was pretty close to Amazon’s trade in value, but YMMV. Amazon pays the shipping on trade ins which is nice too.Where are good places for selling it online? Just ebay or are there good sites devoted to gamers?
Yes, I've never sold anything on ebay before, though grasp the concept.![]()
I get that all the time with Steam. App or on PC. I know I set my password right but it acts like it doesn't recognize be it all the time.So I either have a brain tumor or the mobile steam Ap is straight up trolling me.
Downloaded it for the first time today. Went to log in and didn't remember my password. Not shocking as I auto log in on my desktop. So I go through the trouble of changing my password. I log into the desktop ap to confirm it works and then try to log into the mobile ap. I have meticulously typed in the user name and PW 50 times. Every time it says incorrect log in. I know for a fact that it is correct (again, unless I have a tumor) and the ####### thing just will not log in. Its complete insanity.
It's super customizable to combat motion sickness. Try snap turning vs smooth turning, different degrees of snap turning, increase the "tunnel vision" blinders when you turn/walk to help center you. It might take a while to find the right mix, but I can play hours without stopping now. I haven't had much in the way of motion sickness issues though, so YMMV.Got my PSVR hooked up tonight and got to try Skyrim. I was a very cool experience. Found myself giggle multiple times and felt immersed in the game. The graphics are a bit of a setback but not enough too bother me too much.
It didn’t take me too long to start feeling a little motion sick though. That was a concern for me but I was able to play for over an hour and that’s not too bad.
I did not start with the move controllers since I did not have them connected right away. I just used the normal controller. I also didn’t play any of the demo disk but plan to tomorrow.
So far it’s pretty impressive.
It's a really fantastic game, but it would be kind of nice if they spent more time developing the next one rather than re-re-re-releasing the current one.Just as an aside, it’s amazing how much run Bethesda is getting out of Skyrim. I bought the original on the 360 in a house I lived in two moves ago.
It's working though. I had never bought the game before but did now because it was on the PSVR.It's a really fantastic game, but it would be kind of nice if they spent more time developing the next one rather than re-re-re-releasing the current one.
It's also driving PSVR sales (along with the price break.) I read earlier that last week's PSVR sales were greater than the prior 18 weeks combined. It's working though. I had never bought the game before but did now because it was on the PSVR.
With the Amazon Visa card I was able to get the bundle for $300. Really hard to beat that deal. It's also driving PSVR sales (along with the price break.) I read earlier that last week's PSVR sales were greater than the prior 18 weeks combined.
I would think ebay is your best hope.Any advice on process to find and buy a good PS2 and Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance and 2 controllers?
Unfortunately they're extremely tight lipped about what they're working on, but from what I understand they have two projects in process. Whatever they are I'll buy them. It's a really fantastic game, but it would be kind of nice if they spent more time developing the next one rather than re-re-re-releasing the current one.
PUBG is an extremely popular PC game that can be played in 3rd person, if you like online play that is.Any NON first person shooters for PC?
There is no doubt in my mind they are working on the next Elder Scrolls game.Unfortunately they're extremely tight lipped about what they're working on, but from what I understand they have two projects in process. Whatever they are I'll buy them.
The VR helmet has earbuds, and I believe has a built in microphone. I have been about even on whether I use those earbuds or just go with my normal living room speakers.question on Skyrim VR. I love Skyrim, and would like to try the VR version, but wondering about the immersion of VR in general. I assume that the Playstation VR goggles have ear pieces for the sound and everything. when you're wearing it, are you totally unaware of everything that's going on around you. like, if I'm playing through Skyrim on the VR, and my dog takes a dump on the floor right in front of me, will I even know? or if I'm sneaking through a super creepy cave, and my wife walks up and taps me on the shoulder, will I have a heart attack?
How good is ebay about things like buying it and then it not working?
It is more up to the individual seller than ebay. Just buy from a seller who has a very high reputation and a good return policy and you should have no problems. How good is ebay about things like buying it and then it not working?
Was going to say you can have my PS2, but then couldn't find it when I looked for it. I guess I already gave it away to someone.Any advice on process to find and buy a good PS2 and Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance and 2 controllers?
Yeah, unfortunately I joined too late to get RIGS from it. Guess it was available the last two months?PS plus games include VR ones
How have I not heard about this game? It's right up my ally.PUBG is an extremely popular PC game that can be played in 3rd person, if you like online play that is.

I plan on playing nekkid to combat the hot headset problem.
From everything I'm reading on PUBG, it's just mindless PVP killing. No story line?cool. Let us know how you like it.
There are some guys in this thread who play together as teams sometimes.
Have you played the Mass Effect games? TPS + RPG. Take it you want something w/ story in it from your above post. From everything I'm reading on PUBG, it's just mindless PVP killing. No story line?
correct. It is very similar to H1Z1.From everything I'm reading on PUBG, it's just mindless PVP killing. No story line?
I've heard of it, never played.Have you played the Mass Effect games? TPS + RPG. Take it you want something w/ story in it from your above post.
This post then Arizona Ron shows up?I plan on playing nekkid to combat the hot headset problem.
Mass Effect is a SciFi series with 4 games that range between pretty good and amazing across the series. The first three are a single story across three games, ME1 is probably the most RPG of the bunch, ME2 and ME3 move towards more towards action shooter w/ RPG quest and char development. ME:Andromeda is a very separate game more of the open world RPG format, but still 3rd person shooter.I've heard of it, never played.
Fortnite is about all I’ve played in the past month. It’s great fun.Hmmm. free too. I'll have to try it out.
thx
THANKS FOR TELLING US ABOUT IT JERK!!!Fortnite is about all I’ve played in the past month. It’s great fun.
Bump...Fortnite - loving this game. Amazing fun. I’ve had a bunch of top 5 finishes, a few top 3 finishes, and a single 2nd place. No wins. It’s coming though, I can feel it.
And we don't need Playstation Plus for online multiplayer?!?!?Fortnite is about all I’ve played in the past month. It’s great fun.
Well when you put it that way, SIGN ME UP!@!#@#!#@Wow, I am blown away by Skyrim VR. The immersion is just incredible. Being able to turn around and see what's behind me, or look up is terrific. I found it so much easier to pick flowers, catch butterflies, pick up arrows, and spot wolves that were hiding in the bush.
No, the graphics aren't as good as what a PC can deliver. Then again, the PS4 has never been as good as PC graphics so I wasn't expecting that.
I am really enjoying this.
