Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (1 Viewer)

I just started Fortnite a couple of days ago. Such a fun game...and free! My main issue is people spam building walls when you shoot at them. That's cheesy and lame.

It makes me want PUBG to hurry up and release.
I mean that’s the game.  First thing to learn is to quickly spam 4 walls around you and a staircase to shoot over it.  The really annoying thing thing is people hiding in the bushes... of course I do this too because I need every advantage I can get.

I found combat on Skyrim VR to be mostly easier, too. Targeting is as easy as looking at what you want to hit. Spells track easier. Hand-to-hand was easier.

The only area I have found to be more difficult is with ranged attacks. With the controller aim, it's easy to steadily lock in on a target far away and make minute aiming adjustments. With the VR aim there is some natural movement... probably more realistic but more difficult for the sniper.

ETA: I have not unlocked the zoom perk so archery may get easier once I do.

bought cities skylines for like 7 bucks....deluxe version....been wanting for awhile so a few beers and a good deal i couldn't pass up...

Wow.....Black Friday has struck me again.

Here was my haul and my backlog grows larger!!

Metal Gear V The Phantom Pain - $20

Mass Effect Andromeda - $15

Wolfenstein 2 - $25

Middle Earth Shawdow Of War -  $25

Bioshock Collection - $20

Uncharted The lost Legacy - $20

Elite Dangerous is $20 at GameStop this week. May have to check it out at that price
It is a very cool space flight game. I played it for about 30 plus hours but then it really became the same old same old. But I will go back to it again when the mood strikes to do some space adventuring. It is a very cool experience.

we're supposed to build walls? I have no clue what im doing. I just run around and pray no-one sees me. I did pick up one gun that was kick ###. I could hit people on hills from pretty far away.
Few quick pointers...

Listen and look for treasure chests, they generally have better stuff

color gun = how good it is.  White is meh, green is ok, blue is good, purple is great, orange will kill everything.  Orange and purple are rare.

Small med kit can only get you to 75 health, big Med kit back to 100.

blue jars are a shield potion +50 to your shield.

Learn to build 4 quick walls around you and a staircase to see/shoot over it.

Wood is ok the build with, brick it better, steel is best - harvest with your pickaxe

I'm a 40 year old man who just put a Nintendo Switch on his Christmas list.

No regrets.
The thing is damn fun. Never thought I'd enjoy the hand held portion but it's so easy to do. I love the thing. Oh and so do my kids.

Pubg apparently at 60 FPS on the new XB1X. I’m officially getting excited. These Battle royale games scratch an itch for me that used to have with regular deathmatch and search and destroy games. I’m terrible at those now, but I can play one of these and last a good bit just by not being a dumba$$ which is nice.

I just wish they had more games for it. Right now I cant justify it for just Super Mario.

I'm anticipating getting Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for now.  The system has been a massive success. The games will come.
Do the classic titles in their library play on it as well like their previous consoles? I'm too lazy to download ROM's and load them onto something like a Pi.

I played both the bolded on Wii U already and have no interest in the 4th. I know the games will come but thats why Im waiting.

Tossed in Horizon Zero Dawn after work, and didn't put the controller down until 2am.

In a lot of ways a reskin of Witcher 3, but I am loving the changes so far. Far more of a stealth element in how I fight. Feels like it rewards strategic fighting over Witcher's roll-hit-roll-hit...

The Nintendo e-shop has classics but the catalog is limited.  Switch homebrew is taking off rapidly, however.

On XB1 so not sure.
Confirmed free to play Battle Royale and no PS Plus needed for online multiplayer for PS4.

I only played one game so far, I jumped out of the plane last and didn't see another player until only 14 of us were left, I got shotgunned to death when I ran out of ammo on my machine gun.

I'm waiting for the complete edition to come out next week. :nerd:

So, Bloodborne. Took out the Witch of Hemwick. This area was pretty cool, but not to difficult. The boss herself was easy. Moved on to Old Yarnham next. Just about to take on the Blood-Starved Beast. Oh, also cleared out the Cathedral Ward but holding off on that boss for now.

Still learning though. Have a bunch of cool looking bloodrunes that I can't seem to use. Triangle, crescents, etc. My weapons don't seem to accept them, so not sure if I am doing something wrong or what I am supposed to do with them. Maybe I need more advanced weapons?

No it's not 60 fps on the xbox one x.

The developer has it running at 60. But, due to risking OG XBO owners from complaining about being at 30 going against people on newer hatdware at 60, Bluepoint now says both are locked at 30.

Tldr; Buying an XboxOneX is only worth it for single player games, and you will be gimped by Microsoft & developers for years to appease plebes on old hardware.

weapons need to be upgraded to accept runes.  These are called Imprints.  The imprint will then decide which shape Rune can be installed.

To create the imprints you go to the workshop in Hunters dream and Fortify your weapon of choice.  You will need the Bloodgem Workshop Tool to perform this action.  This tool can be found in Central Yarnem after fighting Gascoigne.

My weapon is +5 currently. Guess it isn't high enough yet for the fancier runes.

Do you have the Bloodgem Workshop Tool?  It has been a while since I played but I don't remember weapons needing to be a certain level to accept blood gems as long as you had the tool.

It accepts gems. Just not odd shaped ones. At least I don't think it does. Maybe I am using them and not even realizing it. I have the tool that lets you use blood gems and one for Caryll Runes. Blood-Starved beast is dead now BTW. Have to decide if I want to do that church workshop or whatever.

from the wiki

There are several types of Blood Gems, which are further divided into categories determined by the general shape of the Gem. Radial, Triangular, and Waning Blood gems are installed onto right-hand weapons. Circular gems are installed onto left-hand weapons (Except the Lost Chikage, which has a circular socket). Droplet can be fit into any socket regardless of its shape.

if you intend to complete game, I think you do need to do work shop as it connects to an area which has something needed to complete game.

Yep, I paid closer attention and my starting weapon only accepts Radial gems right now with it at level +5.

I watched vids already of the workshop. I feel dirty.

Oh, I took out Vicar Amelia. I clicked a lantern and summoned someone. Offline. Hadn't done that before. Made that boss battle a joke. I used one application of fire paper and just destroyed her. She had maybe 20% health at most when the summed dudette died.

Way too many pages to scroll through here so I’ll ask if anyone who has a Switch is doing the online play for Kart.  Is there a FBG group/lobby..etc.. yet.  My handle is Osaurus (clever).

I played about 5 hours of PUBG Saturday and Sunday nights and was unable to group once with my normal circle of players.  That doesn't bode well!

My wife and I started Diablo 3 ultimate evil edition in couch co-op yesterday.
She's a monk and I'm a wizard. So far she's taking all the good loot and tanking fairly well while I blast baddies from a distance. We're just level 7 but I hope I get better gear soon cuz my character still looks like a peasant.

Don't worry... loot will be abundant... it's Diablo!

My wife and I played this a lot... got to where we could faceroll Torment 13 with a few characters each and quite.  We still get on occasionally when there's a lull in releases though.  If anyone is looking for a good couch coop game, this is by far my favorite one out there.  Best was when we moved the other TV into the living room and 6-manned off of 2 PS4s when we had some friends over.

When I read about Diablo, people talk about seasons and patches and updates etc. What/who/how are they competing if they beat the campaign and are maxed at LVL70?

There's regular play, and season play.  Each season you start from scratch with new characters and no gear.  Your accomplishments in that season give you points and add you to the leaderboards for that season.

The cool thing is that at the end of the season, all your gear you'd gained gets moved over to the regular play game.

Beating the campaign is really just the beginning of the game.

Has anyone played Helldivers co-op for PS4? Is it too hard with just 2 players? Reviews make it seem like it's tough with even 4 players.

this is an item that I think is strange to normal gamers.

Most ARPG's, like Diablo and Path of Exile, really just get started once you beat the campaigns final boss.

Of the 2000+ hours I have played in Diablo and POE, I would estimate more than 90% have been spent after the main campaign was complete.

Is this CPU, or console too?  I played this through with my boys and had a blast.  We started over on a harder difficulty with our advanced characters, but it wasn't quite as fun.  But, if there was some new way to play I could pick this up again.

We had it on the 360, which we don't have anymore.  Someone convince me this is a good idea to start over on with the XB1.

I got my 3rd Fortnite victory last night. Probably have 10 top 3 finishes, but I’m not as good at building and when the circle gets small I’m normally at a disadvantage. The clip is below - you can skip forward because I’m bush camping at the start trying to figure out where the other two are located before moving.  One guy had built a pretty insane fortress. I do end things though with a headshot snipe for the win! Some might say it was lucky, but I prefer to say it was very lucky.  It was a 5 kill game for me which is about par.

Is Destiny 2 any good and how appropriate for a 9 year old?   For reference I also got him battlefront 2 (best buy had buy one get one 50% off on select titles... everything else was either COD or sports games)
