I finally fired up a game in
Days Gone, which I downloaded from PS+ some time last year. it's pretty fun so far, and the northwest setting is pretty unique.
I had one "oh ####" encounter playing last night. I went to one of the NERO checkpoints to turn the power on, and to get into the facility you have to climb on top of the roof. as I was on the roof, it suddenly got cloudy and started raining, and
hundreds of ####### zombies started pouring out of a stopped train on an overpass. my jaw hit the floor and I froze. I'm still pretty early in the game, and there's no way I could take on a horde like that. so I just crouched behind a sandbag wall on the roof and watched them, deciding what to do next. then just like that, the sun came out, and they all lined up to go back in the train!

so I'm like cool, let me just wait until they're all back in the train and I'll finish what I'm doing. but as I'm there crouched behind the wall, and the zombies are just about back in relaxation mode, one of them spots me and starts freaking out! and then
they all start leaping off of the train and coming at me. when I realized that I couldn't hide from them, I jumped off the roof and sprinted to my bike (which was not close), getting it started and hauling ### out of there, right as they were just about to catch me.
it's been a long time since a video game gave me a shot of adrenaline like that. #### that place.
