Vikings logo on Detroit's field (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure what's been the bigger disaster, the actual Minnesota season, or the cave in.

When the announcement was made the Lions said they were going to do everything possible to help the Vikings recreate the 'home game' that they were losing out on. Class move.

It could be the class move, but the Lions get another home game out of this (and the stadium makes a bunch of extra cash).

Are they going to bus in the fat guy with the beard and helmet that looks like a trucker?(No, the Viking guy - not Favre)And that horn sound for when the Vikings score?

Won't be necessary, unfortunately.

if they really do it like they would in MN you will never be able to tell there are only 12 people there because they will pump in so much crowd noise it will sound like an all time sel out event of the century

Oh, yeah, they're totally benefitting from it, no doubt. I just meant the class part being in trying to replicate the home game environment for a divison rival. I got the impression from the Tom Lewand quote that I saw that the Lions offered that up as opposed to it being league mandated. Who knows how accurate that is, but either way - it's a good event for Detroit area. I heard people were in line for tickets at 6:30am in a blizzard this morning.

And free tix too. I think the Lions were great here

It was as close to a home game as Minnesota was going to get, all things considered. We went, were in the Vikings section right on the 50 behind the bench. I'd even venture to say there were likely more Vikings supporters there also, I know the Giants fans could barely make any noise when their defense was on the field. Fun time, and definite props to the Lions organization and the NFL for doing what they did.

How do the Lions get an extra home game?
:goodposting: Did I miss something?

Too bad for you the game was a snoozer. The gameflow was terrible on tv, so bad that Directv dropped the game for 15 minutes & the black screen on my tube was the highlight of the night.. I cant imagine how bad that was live...

went to the game last night, very good atmosphere but the game was a snoozer. Lions fans were not kind to the vikings booing and gettin the wave going when the viking where on Offense and pretty much taunted the vikings horn.

Had a couple of friends go to the game. Said it was not nearly sold out as advertised. How many people were there would you estimate?

Upper bowl was pretty much empty. Lower bowl and the club level on the NYG side was pretty well full. Not sure but judgin by the empty parking lots Id say maybe 35-40k.

More props to the Lions organization for dolling up the place with the Vikings logos.

What are the chances next Monday night game is in Detroit, too?

Wonder why they kept saying it was going to be a full house on the news? My feeling is that the Lions got a little gun-shy when the demand was so high for general admission seating and cut off the sales out of fear.

They only issued about 30k tix at the box office Yesterday morning. The Lions/packers tix from the day before would get you in and so would and NYG/Minn tix. SO they didnt want to over do it. Sclapers tried to create a demand too but gobbling up as many tix as possible.

They could keep the Vikings logo on the field. Lions are away this weekend.
No chance. They are going to keep this weeks game in MN. It will be at the Dome or TCF Stadium.
