Vincent Jackson over Nicks / Fitz / White? (1 Viewer)

I did have Reggie Wayne ranked higher than him (Andre, Calvin, Roddy, Nicks, Fitz, Jennings) but with Peyton being a question mark for who knows how long you have to drop Wayne. Doing so moves Jackson to number 7 for me. I really like that third tier though of Jackson, Austin, Wallace, DeSean, Wallace, Mike Williams, Wayne, and Bowe.

Crazy that White still doesn't get the respect he deserves.
This.I'd rank them as...WhiteFitzNicksJacksonJackson hasn't done a lot so far in San Diego and he really hasn't been consistent. He seems like the type to blow up for a big game and then not do much later. I can understand all of the pro-Jackson arguments and I do think he'll have a good year (something like 1,100 yds, 7 TD's maybe) but I think your odds are alot better with the other 3 guys.

With Wayne, you have to wonder when Father Time will catch up with him. Some people kept drafting Harrison high even when he started to decline. Also, with all of the weapons in Indy (Clark, Collie, Addai, Garcon, etc.), you have to wonder if his receptions will decrease.

Wow. I would say I agree with your ranking of the 4 but you don't have much confidence in Rivers to Jackson at all. With both of them healthy all year I'd consider those numbers his floor.....maybe even his basement. I'd have to guess you have other WR's ahead of V Jackson in your rankings with that projection.

At 34 Marvin had 1366/12. At 35 he had 4/83/1, 6/87/0 and 6.53/0 before a serious knee injury. Harrison never had a decline, he just got hurt when he was 35 and that was that.

To be fair, he went from 1700 yds to 1200 to 1100 to 1100 and then surprised with 1300 yds. I would say the 1200 and two 1100 years were decline years.

Conceded

I'll happily take whichever one falls to me in the 5th or 6th round. So far have been able to pick up V. Jax as my 5th and 6th picks in my 2 leagues, 3rd draft coming this weekend.

what kind of league is this? 6man? start 3 qb?

I'd love to see this draft. I can't imagine how a top 6 (or even top 10 if you have him ranked lower) receiver falls to the 5th or 6th round. Maybe these are smaller leagues?

both 10 team leagues, 1 is a start 2 QB, 2 RB, Flex, 2 WR, TE, K, D the other is a start 1 QB 2 RB, Flex, 2 WR, WR/TE flex,TE, K, D. The 2 QB league goes very QB heavy early obviously and with the turn pick I was able to keep the RB and QB runs going. Not sure exactly he was still there in the 5th in the 1 QB league but i'll take it.

If a guy like VJax is falling to the 5/6 rounds, Id be pretty confident in my chances of dominating that league.

It truly makes little to no sense to me, even in a start 2qb.

Good for you, tho.

"I keep convincing myself that V. Jackson is the least risky and possibly most upside."

Doesn't look like anybody else has mentioned it, but I think VJax is one more infraction away from a year suspension. He's had two DUI's I believe, so whatever you think of his admittedly high upside, I think it's hard to argue that he's the least risky compared to a mostly rock-solid group of WRs he's being compared to.

6. Greg Jennings - A lot of mouths to feed in GB, but a virtual lock for 10 tds
Id say the lock for Jennings is 1100+ yards, not 10 TDs. See: 2009 when he had 4 TDs.Outside of DJax and Wallace, he might be the last guy in the Top 10ish Id count on for TDs, but thats for another thread.

I think Whale's ######'s game this weekend will be extremely telling of the Rivers to V Jax season ahead. In the first two games Rivers has gone to him early and often and in minimal game time he has put up pretty good numbers.

2 catches for 54 yards in 1 series in the first game against the Hawks.

3 grabs for 49 yards against the cowboys. Not sure how long he was in the game there.

Seems to have great chemistry with Rivers and that good ol boy likes to go deep occasionally.

Can't wait to see what kind of numbers he puts up.

I like AJ, White, CJ, Fitz, Nicks, Jackson. I'm pick 9 in my league and looking to draft AJ or White if McCoy doesn't drop down to 9.

I just can't move VJ into my top 5 WR especially in PPR scoring. It's entirely conceivable that he may not even be the top receiver on his own team in receptions and TDs if Gates returns to form this year.

the threat of that expired earlier this year, his next DUI would be 'just' a 4 game suspensionhe might be at risk from a year in jail for a 3rd DUI in California, but after watching his 2nd DUI work it's way through court, I'm confident that even if he were busted today his lawyers could delay any jail time till after the season

He had more yards and TDs in fewer games than Gates in 2009. And that's when Gates was healthy

5-78 tonight.

Him and rivers seem to be happy together.

Would like to see some tds.

Would also like to see him through 4 quarters.

Still a believer he's going to have a monster season.

Kolb to Fitz for an 80-yard TD was nice to see for those of us who might get "stuck" with him after the other guys are gone.
