Atlanta
Mike Smith suggested that Sean Weatherspoon would return to full time duty, but wouldn’t confirm that would be this week. He can’t be trusted in lineups until he’s an every down player again.
Tampa Bay
Quincy Black didn’t practice Friday after aggravating his ankle injury Thursday, and is questionable and seemingly unlikely to play. Corey Lynch gets the start at FS with Cody Grimm on IR, but it is likely Vince Anderson will rotate in. Neither has much upside.
Buffalo
Dwan Edwards (hamstring) and Reggie Torbor (shoulder) were both placed on IR this week. Spencer Johnson should replace Edwards, and Arthur Moats should see more snaps if the Bills stick with the 3-4, but probably not enough to have fantasy value. Terrence McGee is likely out again with a knee problem.
Minnesota
Ray Edwards practiced only on Friday and is questionable with a high ankle sprain. He’s called a GTD, but may be more likely to sit than play. Brian Robison has some upside, particularly in big play leagues if Edwards is inactive. Asher Allen likely gets another start for the injured Chris Cook at corner.
Ray Edwards is inactive, Brian Robison listed as starter.
Carolina
Jason Williams replaced Nic Harris last week in the starting lineup and impressed John Fox enough to stay in the lineup. Williams didn’t play in the nickel, and his snaps could be limited significantly vs Seattle. Chris Gamble was benched last week. Fox said it was football related, Gamble suggested it was a disciplinary issue. Gamble didn’t practice Thursday due to a hamstring injury and is questionable, but he said he’d be okay to play. Captain Munnerlyn, who’s been limited by a shoulder injury this week, would replace him this week if he’s unable to play or benched again. James Anderson missed practice with a concussion last week, but has been cleared to play.
Seattle
Colin Cole is doubtful but has yet to practice and will be out at least one more week. David Hawthorne saw a nickel snap or two last week, but still left the field in the Seahawks’ predominant dime subpackage. Lofa Tatupu is listed probable with a knee problem, but looked very gimpy for much of last week.
Chicago
Pisa Tinoisamoa is out, with Nick Roach most likely to replace him in the lineup.
Detroit
Kyle Vanden Bosch hasn’t practiced this week with a neck injury and is doubtful to play. Lawrence Jackson and Cliff Avril should see more snaps and both are interesting high upside DL2 plays against Chicago. CC Brown had been rumored to rotate with Amari Speivey at safety, but hasn’t. DeAndre Levy has been limited by his groin injury again, and looked less mobile last week. He’s probable to play.
Cleveland
Scott Fujita will be out at least one more week. Eric Barton was limited all week with a shoulder injury and is questionable. That should increase the opportunity for both TJ Ward and Abram Elam, but there’s likely to continue to be too much rotation among the rest of the linebackers to give anyone much value.
Miami
Channing Crowder is doubtful to play after not practicing all week with a knee injury. Tim Dobbins, who played over Karlos Dansby in the base defense last week, should replace him but isn’t likely to play every down. Karlos Dansby should return to his usual every down role. Reshad Jones practiced fully all week and should again rotate with Chris Clemons at FS.
Dallas
Keith Brooking is questionable with a foot injury but expected to play. He may lose more snaps to Sean Lee and is a risky play.
Indianapolis
Gary Brackett practiced fully on Friday and observers expect him to play. Clint Session still isn’t practicing, so we’ll likely see Pat Angerer shift back outside but play every down. Kelvin Hayden looks unlikely to play with a stinger.
Denver
Brian Dawkins is out with a knee injury and Darcel McBath is out with a quad injury. That likely leaves Nathan Jones, who has corner eligibility, as the every down safety next to Renaldo Hill. Joe Mays kept his starting job at SILB last week, but didn’t play in the nickel. Jason Hunter may also lose a larger percentage of snaps this week as Robert Ayers continues to get his game legs back.
Kansas City
Brandon Flowers was limited all week with a hamstring injury and is questionable. He’s being called a GTD.
Flowers is ACTIVE.
Jacksonville
Nothing of note here.
Tennessee
Jason Jones, Dave Ball and Tony Brown are all questionable, but all practiced fully on Friday. Michael Griffin missed practice with an illness on Friday but is probable.
New Orleans
Nothing of note here.
Cincinnati
The Bengals look to get Roy Williams and Johnathan Joseph back this week. Chinedum Ndukwe likely starts at FS.
Oakland
Rolando McClain, who played better last week than at any point during the season, is questionable with arthritis in his foot. He hasn’t practiced all week and is unlikely to play though listed questionable. Ricky Brown would start and play every down in his place. Tyvon Branch is also listed questionable after missing much of practice with a shoulder injury this week. He’s been called no lock to play by beat writer Jerry McDonald and should be considered a risky GTD.
San Diego
Stephen Cooper is questionable with a knee injury and didn’t practice Friday after a limited practice Thursday. If he can’t play, Brandon Siler becomes an interesting every-down option. Steve Gregory went from a full practice Wednesday to a limited practice Thursday and Friday. He’s also questionable. He practiced more last week and was inactive, so it looks likely that Paul Oliver will start again this week.
San Francisco
Parys Haralson is questionable and didn’t practice this week with an ankle injury, but Mike Singletary said that he should play. Singletary said the same for Shawntae Spencer, who was limited with a shoulder injury and practiced only on Friday.
Haralson is inactive.
Green Bay
Brandon Chillar is on IR, making Desmond Bishop the clear every-down starter at WILB. Atari Bigby didn’t practice all week and will likely be out with a hamstring injury. Charlie Peprah will start again at SS.
St. Louis
Nothing of note here.
Arizona
Calais Campbell is questionable with an ankle injury, but is expected to play. Greg Toler is also expected to play, but Whisenhunt hasn’t clearly said whether or not he’d return to the lineup.
Washington
LaRon Landry is out again this week and there’s no timetable for his return. Reed Doughty starts again at SS. Carlos Rogers is also out.
New York Giants
Nothing of note here.
Pittsburgh
Nothing of note here.
Baltimore
Dawan Landry has been limited by a head injury all week and is questionable. He says he’s ready to go if he’s cleared by the medical staff.
New York Jets
Jim Leonhard broke his leg in practice Friday and is out indefinitely. Eric Smith and Brodney Pool will start at safety. Smith likely has more upside.
New England Patriots
Nothing of note here.
