Warning - Novel Length - A Forum Manifesto (1 Viewer)

What is the verdict on what posters can write about the President?  I read in the manifesto we shouldn't use things to trigger, like refer to Obama as "Barak Hussein Obama".  Yet, people including staff, regularly make fun of Trump.  Orange, small hands, idiot, sexual predator, etc.  Is this stuff still cool here?
First thing if you see staff here mocking anyone like that, please report it. I think we are past that. I don't know where the definition lies exactly of please don't try to troll the other side with the jabs. Tiny hands? Whatever. Orangutan? Probably too much. You guys know what you're doing with your words. Please use them to have a constructive conversation. Not to insult the other side.

Thanks @Riversco  I'm with you in that this is difficult. We'll try to see how it goes. I do believe most of the people trolling know that they're trolling. We'll do our best to limit that. From what I see, the over the top trolling, and not addressing it, is what got us off the rails. Thanks.
I just think you are setting yourself up to make people really hate you and its not necessary.

Can we offer a pay service where we can put bounties on people? Seems like a pretty solid way to support the boards and defray some costs.

You, sir, are a good idea machine.  If such a service existed, I'd be in both as a contractor and customer.  Hypothetically speaking, of course.  For a friend.

hi joe has there been any progress on the parnera icon front thanks in advance take that to the bank brohan

Joe - thanks for getting rid of @fantasycurse42 Hampton's thread. It was getting pretty uncomfortable reading about him admiring another man's junk.
Pretty amazing that the thread got axed. Very real weird situation happening. I kept it PG, and would, but whatever. Love an explanation.

Sorry I'm comfortable enough to write about seeing something that couldn't have been missed. I'm not into dudes at all and very comfortable in my own skin to write whatever without caring about what others think. You might be a little insecure in yours   prob why you're so angry all the time.

Alright, no updates will be provided. Interesting that gets axed.

I didn't read the thread but we should be allowed to discuss adult topics, such as swingers, in a PG manner.

:lmao: at you calling anyone angry.

Manifesto hidden meaning: You Trump guys better not dare get away with the stuff the anti Trump guys get away with it or you're gone!!

@Joe Bryant If a poster is banned, and then comes back as an alias only to continue posting hateful remarks, do you add to the original's length of suspension?

Please see PINKHAM13 in the transgender thread.

I almost wish Joe could consider instituting GRown Up Marked Posts (aka Grump)  Little check box to see US folks blabbering from lack of sleep, alcohol, eod just all the ignorance in the World.  I think it would celebrate our Freedoms!  (Good men died for less)  But, I guess its asking too much, for some to really back off!  They see a good name, and cant help themselves from clicking to read (entirely?)  I guess that's what happens.  I know I'm burdened with comments from these types (goes both ways).  Think its continually taking away from the Forum too.  Safe too assume Mods don't enjoy seeing disrespect..  Although they could be implementing them via false names, for all I care.  (just saying)  PG is good though!  Any kid can cuss, takes a man to get a message across..

Hope FBG can communicate with ya some fantasycurse, because I don't believe Ive seen any disrespect, or anything of that nature..  Think I will start my much deserved break soon!

Hi otis. The political subforum started things. I wanted to see how people were posting and they showed me they can be awesome. Then this Manifesto thing yesterday meant a lot of posts. Don't worry, I'll get back to more quiet.
I actually think the FFA needs a whole set of subforums.  I'm sure it started out as different forums for things fantasy football related and FFA to cover Misc.  But, the FFA has twice as many topics as the Sharkpool does now.  The Misc. has out grown everything else.  There are people who don't even participate in fantasy football anymore that keep the FFA as a part of their lives.

One of the main reasons I visit the FAA is for information and breaking this information down into subsets would be very helpful:

Politics/Religion Subforum

TV Show/Movies/Entertainment Subform

Current News Subforum

Food/BBQ Subforum

Travel Subform

Stocks/Business Subforum

Who's Hottest/Yoga Pants PG-13 Subforum

The problem is that so many subforums like that would fragment the community.  Even with twice as many posts as the SP, there aren't enough of us active in the FFA to justify all of these subforums.  I visit other boards that have many subforums like these, but the userbase is many, many times larger than that of the FFA, so there's enough people for micro-communities to form in each subforum. Here, it would just be a bunch of subforums with very little traffic in each one except the political forum because that is a huge interest for people here.

You're probably right, but, there is enough that it's hard to wade through to find what you want too.  If the thread about Ozarks (TV Show) wouldn't have popped up on the front page I most likely would have missed it where I would have found it for sure in the TV Show Subforum that I would frequently visit.

Actually a better solution to solve both issues would be a set of searchable metadata that you could assign to your topic when you start a post.

That's my thinking as well @Scoresman

I've seen forums that have thread tags. So like if you post a BBQ related thread you can assign it the Food tag and then on the main forum page there's a filter dropdown that lets you filter for all the food threads or all the movie threads.

 Please move this post to the Suggestions Forum.  TIA

CNN just released a separate CNN Politics app. Obviously watching how it has worked out here and copying.

Politics forum is as hostile as the FFA ever was. Absolutely no room for dissenting opinion. And with this latest thing it's not even ok if you're in somewhat agreement with them. You've got to be 100% on board or you're just completely deplorable.

Yea there tends to not be a lot of gray area with that whole nazi thing.

So same as day one.

Agree. Wasn't specifically talking about the costumed freaks.
I don't know what you're referring to. I don't read that forum. You said the latest thing so I assumed you meant Charlottesville. What exactly would the other opinion be that doesn't come off racist?
