After last night... it looked like the 72 Dolphins are about to get some company.

P.S. I'm a Jets fan....

I don't think the 72 Dolphins even bought champagne this year given how good the Patriots were expected to be. And after the last two weeks, I can't imagine anyone's running out to get some now.

SOLE POSSESSION OF THE UNDEFEATED SEASON IS OFFICIALLY OVER

Wow dude, you just totally jinxed them. I'm sure there's never been a 2-0 team that's looked dominant in the past that someone's said, "this is the year of the undefeated season."

At least wait till 1/2 way man, 2-0........*shakes head*

I'm not sure any of those games pose a problem either. DAL struggled against MIA early yesterday and gave up massive points against the Giants. IND beating NE last year was flukey. NE addressed their concerns and is built to beat the Colts. They can score almost at will now.

PIT is not for real. CLE and BUF are bottom of the barrel AFC teams this year. If SF tests them at all, I think you'll agree with me.

NE will have homefield advantage. Provided they stay healthy, they'll defeat whichever NFC team makes the Super Bowl.

Iron clad :lmao:

LOL

I think they have a shot at it, and the chip they got on their shoulder now after Beligate is only going to help.

wasn't there some awesome indy team running it up on everybody the first 12 games of the season?

16-0 is tough --- I'm more concerned about them staying healthy and kicking ### in the superbowl.

oh, and beating indy.

And they crushed them. What have they done that has shown you that they're "not for real"?
Pit did what you are supposed two do against 2 bad teams, dominate them. I think Denever needed a miracle FG with:01 on the clock to beat Buf last week. Too many good teams for the Pats to win 'em all, but they sure so look unbelieveable right now. Injuries can play a role, and you only have to lose once in the playoffs and you're done.

yeah, cincy played them great last year.

the pats should be able to put up about 150 on them.

My belief is that N.E. was very fortunate to win at least two of their Superbowls. They were a good, but not great, team who had things fall into line for them.

This year I think they are a truely dominant team baring any injuries. Still, there are lots of twists and turns in a season with injuries and off the field matters. At this point anyone not recognizing them as the favorite this year is likely a homer of one of the lesser contenders or just a hater.

I'll give you the first SB against the Rams . . . but their other teams were both 14-2. Which team was very fortunate to win, 2003 or 2004?

There is no way NE is NOT going to go undefeated. Mark it down. There is no such thing as a jinx and I firmly believe they are destined.

This is crazy talk. Cases could be made for any team to beat them. The Jets go into NE in December, where they beat them last year. They could be much improved by then, especially if Clemens gets his shot on a full time basis.

:patshomer:

Its two weeks into the season, ya they beat the snot out of the Chargers, but its 2 weeks, and most of you are thinking they have a shot or they will. There is even posts of their schedule. Lets review the two weeks one the Jets (yipee!!!) and one against the Chargers when they were bent on hell to win, to show the world they didnt need the tapes to win. I will take the Chargers as a nice victory, but the Jest c'mon. This is stupid and Im very much into

Someone silence the unbeliever, please.

Honestly it's widely known I'm a pretty big pats homer... but Pats @ IND scares me. Outside of that I think the Pats win most other games by double digits. Anyone who's watched this team actually plan can't help but be impressed.

The Defense is solid and is only going to get BETTER with the return of 2 of their best guys.

The Offense is just getting into sync as Moss hasn't realy even had a ton of time to Gel with Brady... give them another month or two and that tandem will be just lethal (not that it's not already).

There are no weaknesses on offense. You jam the box against Maroney and Moss/Stallworth/Welker will destroy you deep. Throw double coverage on Moss and Watson/Welker/Maroney will pick the meat off your bones underneath. MOrris is even looking solid as RB2 so they've even got fresh legs to drive into Tired Defenses late in the games.

The only weakness is the secondary as of right now but that should be patched up by the Indy game.

Injuries are always a concern... If Brady goes down this team is done... but nobody's been able to get any pressure on him yet.

IMHO this is the toughest Pats squad we've ever seen. If IND was coming to Foxboro I'd be placing money on the Pats to go undefeated right now. In Indy... that's a different ballgame.

That said... there are tremendous odds against any team going 16-0 in today's NFL... so it will be tough. But if any team in the NFL has a chance of doing it this year it's the patriots.

As a Packers fan, I'd have to say that the Patriots have a pretty darn good shot at running the table. No bias here, just looking objectively. No weaknesses on that team.

No way in hell.

You are NEVER as good as you look on your best week in the NFL. It just so happens that the Pats have had two of their best weeks in the first two games of the season. Injuries and matchups, people.

These past two games, as impressive as they are, don't alter my prediction for this season:

12-4.

Still a LOT of football to be played.

No. It's not.I'm pretty sure they have to be 16-0 after week 17 for it to be "officially over" right now they're 14 wins shy.

Simmer down.

There are plenty of ways. The biggest being the injury bug.The Patriots look DAMN good this year, and I think they have as good a shot of going 16-0 as any team I can remember, but saying it's a sure thing after two games is jumping the gun.

The Colts and Steelers have enough firepower on offense to match the Patriots blow for blow. I could see either one of those two teams winning handily against New England.

It could be argued that the Patriots have probably played their two toughest games already (with the possible exception of Indianapolis) and absolutely CRUSHED both opponents.Getting to 16-0 is a mere formality at this point.

If "TapeGate" couldn't derail the Patriot juggernaut, you're telling me Miami will???

 :lmao: :D

New England might be 16-0 by mid-November. The remainder of the schedule might forfeit in order to avoid a beatdown and potentially lose players to injury.

Tapegate isn't over yet, as much as Belicheat says it is. If the Commish finds issues he doesn't like in the videotape library and the RF irregularities they might derail their own shot at 16-0. I think the public outcry plus the radio issues have Goodell on edge and I wouldn't be surprised to see some punishments in the near future that make 750K and a 1st rounder seem like the good ol days.If any team since probably the 85 Bears has a chance to do it, it's this years Patriots*. Of course teams could give themselves a better chance of dropping a loss on NE* by actually attempting to stop Moss. Respecting his skills is one thing but allowing that fear to keep you from actually touching him at any point in the game is getting ridiculous. But that being said, being focused enough to win 16 straight games and 3 post season games is a Herculean effort and any given Sunday any team can lay an egg. And even though the rest of the division is pretty weak, division games are the most unpredictable games there are.

I give them no better than 5-1 odds at doing it, and that's counting when they get cheater Harrison back and Seymour.
