WCOFF strategy, thurs game impact (1 Viewer)

WCOFF drafters know that you can use players from Thurs night, with the results already known. As such, how do you think the performances of the following players will cause their adp in WCOFF to either plummet or rise:

Peterson,Favre,Harvin, Shiancoe

Brees,Bush,Thomas, all of the wr's

personally i think there is a decent chance that AP falls to the 4th or 5th pick in some drafts, Brees to the late 2d, early 3rd round

Harvin to the "garbage time" picks, Shancoe will be the 6th TE taken. Just my opinion

Would like to hear others thoughts, we'll be heading to Orlando in a couple of hours

I'd still take AP with a top 4 pick. He got 101 total yards away from home in the reigning super bowl winner's house. That's pretty gosh darn good and he's only going to soar higher. I think Shank is going to be picked higher than TGonz and Zach Miller but still remain firmly planted below the top tier of TE's. PT looks like a solid 3rd or 4th round pick. Brees still has a soft midseason schedule and I'd grab him in the second round without hesitation. Harvin might be a decent value after the top 30-35 WRs are off the board. Good luck!

I'm playing in the Rotobowl this year, which is basically the poor man's version of the WCOFF, except they've had online drafts all week, culminating in the live drafts tomorrow. I've been tracking all the draft results and am interested to see what changes in the online drafts tonight before I go in for my live draft tomorrow.

I don't think Peterson will fall that far. He's been 1 or 2 all week (mostly 2). He scored 13 pts, and while it's not the greatest week ever, I don't think it's bad enough that it will cause him to slide past the owner in the 3 spot.

I don't think Harvin will drop all the way down to the late rounds, but he'll fall to at least the 7th or 8th round (when someone already has a roster full of starters can start thinking about taking him). He'll probably go a little later than that in most drafts.

I agree on Shiancoe. He's been going anywhere from TE8 to TE14 all week, and I definitely see him moving up to TE6 range, which would bump him up into the 5th or 6th rounds. (I'm disappointed because I was hoping to pass on TE for a while and grab him later, but that won't happen now.)

Favre's stock will drop. He was being drafted as a low-end starter/high-end backup. He'll probably drop closer to the 11th-13th round range, a few rounds later than I've seen him getting drafted.

Brees definitely drops from the late-1st / early-2nd round down to the latter half of the 2nd or the 3rd round.

I think Bush probably stays put, he's been in the RB25-30 range and I don't think that will move too much after last night. Pierre Thomas probably jumps up into the 2nd round now.

Colston has been in the WR10-12 range all week. He might fall a few spots but he'll still be off the board by the middle of the 4th round. Henderson will be taken much earlier than he would have been, probably off the board by the 9th or 10th round.

I think both of the kickers are undraftable, unless you were planning on carrying two kickers anyway (which I never do).

I think a key is not to just look at this as a free peek at week 1 scores (that's important obvioiusly) but also to consider the free peek in how players may be used in the future. Its the first week of the season that we see actual game planning. My guesses (as in If I was drafting in this event how would I adjust them):ADP: No change (I'd still take him at 2)...not a great game but it looks like they'll run the ball more this year than last and Favre seemed okay dumping to him. Wouldn't be shocked to see 60+ receptions out of him.Favre: Slightly down, but probably really no change. Wouldn't be drafting him as a starter and got to figure he'd take a game or two to get back to speed.Harvin: Down about 2 rounds. He's not a #1 WR and his strength is probably better suited going against CB2's not CB1's.Shiancoe: He moves up, but buyer beware, in the 2nd half New Orleans adjusted very well to Shiancoe and took him away. Other teams will probably try the same until Minnesota can prove someone else needs to be respected.Berrian: Way down. Given a chance and was basically a no-show.Camarillo: I'd move him up (not sure if he was draftable before but definitely is worth a late round flier). Didn't see the field very often but when he did Favre looked his way. He's got very sure hands and I think as he picks up the system more, he'll see the field more and will become one of Favres go-to guys.Brees: Drops to late 2nd. Not a great game, but the option to pick up a 2nd QB and start them week1 is always an option, so the fall shouldn't be too dramatic.Colston: The same.Maechem: Moves up a couple picks. Showed that he can be more than just a deep threat.Henderson: The same.Bush: Down a bit, looks like they're not going to give him as many carries as I thought.Thomas: Up a bit, looks like he'll be the back they lean on. Shockey : No movementMinnesota Def: Bump up, showed even with a depleted secondary they were able to hold one of the best offenses in the league to 14 points.
