This is where we ask questions and offer help. And thank you to all of the posters who come here to offer that help.

A couple notes:

I attempt to give well considered responses to all questions posted. I can't get to everything, but I'll try.

1) This only works if people participate. If you ask for help it is good form to offer help to someone else.

2) It helps if you post the matchup. e.g. Mayfield vs Den or Matt Ryan @ Mia

3) Please post important league scoring considerations (e.g. PPR, super-flex etc).

4) Please go easy on the nicknames, save that for other threads. We can't help if we don't know who you are talking about.

View this as an exercise to help focus your thoughts about teams in general. Players you own may not be involved in these WDIS questions but certainly you will own players on many of these teams. Analyzing other players will help you identify things you may have otherwise not considered.

Let's kick off Week 6!

I always post results of my head-2-head choices for the previous week and keep a season long tally. I compare those results to the results if I used a coin toss instead.

I don't keep a tally when asked to choose between more than two players because I'm not sure how to score it and don't want to get into fractions to keep the tally.

Week 5:
I went 28-12-2 in my calls and the coin toss edged me out with 20-20-2

Banner week in the Chakameister's household!

On the season I am: 103-85-9 and the coin toss is 91-97-9

On to Week 6

And now the tough part begins. BYE WEEKS!!!

I'll start. Been hit kinda hard at RB; lost Elijah Mitchell & Javonte & DeAndre Swift/Jamaal Williams are on the bye.

I have Khalil Herbert & Isaiah Pacheco as my RB2 options. :yucky:

Tevin Coleman, Latavius Murray, Mike Boone, James Cook, Zack Moss, Zamir White, Joshua Kelley, Sony Michel, Mark Ingram & Kenneth Gainwell are available on the wire.

Blind dart throw if I ever saw one. Leaning Latavius but Boone seems to have done okay last Thursday.

Any thoughts?

WR3:
Romeo Doubs v NYJ
Curtis Samuel @ Chicago

I lean Samuel but Chicago is a pretty good defense, Wentz may have a right shoulder injury and Ron Rivera absolutely threw him under the bus this week.

What about Mckinnon or Mckissic? I like Boone over what's listed there - you think Murray is going to get more touches than Boone? . Samuel seems like he gets a steady target share and Wentz has something to prove this week now that he's been called out ......again.

Horrible QB choice time

Justin Fields vs WAS on Thursday

Russell Wilson @ LAC on Monday

I'm thinking it's still Russ?

Pick 3 rbs out of

Sanders vs Dallas

Jones and Stevenson are the clear top 2

It's tight between Sanders and Walker, I go Sanders for floor/Walker for ceiling

Need 2 RBs, half PPR, thinking play Montgomery then re-evaluate upside needed:
JRob @ Colts
Dobbins @ Giants
Herbert/Montgomery vs Washington (TNF)
Zeke @ Eagles

Bye week hell, PPR, need a TE and flex, probably just go with the tight ends:
BRob @ Bears (TNF)
Ertz @ Seahawks
Njoku vs Pats
Could drop Brandin Cooks for Rondale Moore @ Seahawks if needed?

Time for another round of TE Roulette. Is picking up Hurst to start over Tonyan chasing points? I feel like if Hurst hadn't scored last week no one would be talking about him

PPR
Robinson came off IR and I dropped my kicker to make room for him. I also have Gibson and White (TB). Leaning Gibson but I would love some input.

Murray, Cook, White and Kelley are all nice stashes. I’ve been very impressed with Kelley all year. He looks much more explosive this year and I think he would put up big numbers if Ekeler went out. If Gordon gets benched for fumbling Murray will be solid.

Horrible QB choice time

Justin Fields vs WAS on Thursday

Russell Wilson @ LAC on Monday

I'm thinking it's still Russ?
Washington passing defense is not good, then again neither is the Chargers. What is interesting to me when comparing the defenses is they are 14 yards apart on overall yardage stats but the Commadores are giving up 7.8 yards per pass compared to 7.0 for the chargers. It's not a huge difference but maybe that means they are a little more prone to giving up the big play

But, have we reached the definition of crazy with Russel Wilson at this point? Keep rolling him out and expect a different result? Particularly with this apparent shoulder issue? IDK. Right now he's good for 250 yards and a score every week. That's not what we signed up for but it's relatively steady.

Fields has about half as many passing yards but will add about 40 yards rushing per game. Plus his passing yardage (ATT & Y/A) has definitely ticked up over the past two games. My biggest issue is concerns over game script. This reeks of a 17-14 final, then again I doubt anyone called a 12-9 score last week, which is why I hate to bank on game script predictions.

I am shocked this is a coin flip and, ATM am even more shocked that I think it's worth rolling the dice here. I say that with very little confidence but still:

Fields>R.Wilson

Ha, and thanks for the detailed response, brings up some points worth considering. It does feel like they're ramping Fields into more involvement, maybe he can manage a 50-yard TD scramble that, unlike last week, is not called back because of a questionable penalty.

More in need of whom to pick up assistance -- Lucky to have Allen and Kupp and I'm 4-1, but I'm vulnerable at RB with Swift, Stevenson, Herbert, Pollard and WR with London, Cooks and Moore + a nightmare at TE with Schultz and Conklin --

Question-- whom to target off waivers?

TE -- Otton? still hoping when Dak gets back Shulttz becomes relevant
RB - Coleman? Latavius? Edwards? Benjamin?

if any of those...whom to drop?
I wish I could help with either question, I don't have any confidence in consistency from Otton. Seems like a hope type of play in a crowded receiver group that should improve weekly as it gets healthy. But maybe?

Shultz has been a good player and I do think that a Dak return should give him a bump. But I also have concern that the Cowboys will be content to shorten the clock and win with defense & grinding no matter who the QB is. Wish I could help more.

For the RBs are you looking for points this week? Because I don't think Edwards is practicing yet, is he? Of the others, I am facing the same questions and have yet to come up with an answer.

Need two of (half-ppr):

Dillon
Pollard
Robinson

I worry about Robinson on a short week having just come back, but Gibson apparently is being primed for special teams duties according to Rivera.

IDK you have a lot of question marks at RB. Zeke is no longer a special back but he's decent and of your options he is the most locked into his opportunity share. I think that alone makes him a start for you in this situation.

After that, they all have warts. However, because it's 0.5 PPR I think you are probably right to roll Montgomery out there is hope for the best. The guy can catch and is used in the passing game, which increases his floor relative to J.Rob & Dobbins. It's not a great choice but J.Robinson is playing a stingy AF defense and, even after three weeks we don't really know what to expect for Dobbins usage.

Zeke>Montgomery>J.Robinson>Dobbins

For decision #2 I definitely like Ertz. He gets plenty of targets and is playing a soft passing defense and the #31 scoring defense in the league.

I don't love Njoku v the Patriots, but I don't hate it either. He's getting a consistent 7 targets/game since week one and he's at home. It's as good a reason to roll him out as any.

Robinson is the feel good story of the year and the Bears have a the #31 rush defense in the league (8 rush TDs - #30), so maybe it is worth seriously considering him. But it's still a bold play with a lot of uncertainty and I am not sure he is a factor in the passing game, which is significant in a full PPR.

If you drop Cooks, don't expect to get him back. I like him more RoS than R.Moore.

Very tough call for #2, bottom line is if you want to swing for the fences. For me:
Ertz>Njoku>Robinson

Time for another round of TE Roulette. Is picking up Hurst to start over Tonyan chasing points? I feel like if Hurst hadn't scored last week no one would be talking about him
PPR?

I would absolutely drop Tonyan for Hurst. He's just a better player and more consistently utilized.

Choosing Tonyan is playing matchups, it might work out against the Jets but what is his ceiling? 4-40-1? And what's his floor

Hurst>Tonyan

Yeah, may have jumped the gun on Otton. Perhaps Brate will be out/limited this week.

Re RB's ---I picked up Latavius and Eno -- so my core question now (in Standard) is needing one RB and 2 flex--

Stevenson (most likely)
Eno
Pollard
London

L. Murray (likely sit since this will be Monday)

Very difficult to go with Gibson after what happened last week. McKissic seems to be the preferred option in the passing game and it looks like Robinson is the preferred guy in the run game.

Rachaad White may be a consistent 8 opportunity guy but there are so many darn options in Tampa, it's difficult to rely on anything.

With all the question marks surrounding your options I think B.Robinson is the most intriguing. The Bears defense has faced five strong running games this season so their defensive ranking (31st) may be skewed. However they faced five strong running games and came up pretty small every time.

I personally like pollard and then Dillon. I don't trust the Washington situation yet. I am holding onto Gibson with hope.

Man, AJ Dillon has been such a disappointment and I have been generally recommending sticking with him because, despite mediocre outcomes he was getting 18 opportunities per game. Then last week happened. WTF? His six targets from week one look like an aberration and high-water mark at this point, so three is a more realistic expectation. It seems like a tasty matchup but that's actually mostly residual psychological trauma associated with the last decade of Jets football. This Jets defense is...average actually, even a little above average in some ways. However they have given up 7 rushing TDs which is nice. He's also playing at home, which may give him a tiny edge.

Last week Tony Pollard finally did what everyone expected Tony Pollard to do when they drafted him. But I really wish he had more than 8 total opportunities. The reality is the Cowboys are playing a style of football where they are trying to control the clock and play great defense. They want to shorten the game, which means fewer plays and it's working for them. But Pollard does look good even with his limited opportunities. He is also about a 3 target/game guy.

Even with the possibility of not being involved in the passing game you can't ignore what a good matchup the Bears represent...ON PAPER. They have been a very bad run defense, against good opponents for sure, but bad nonetheless. B.Robinson was ineffective last week against the Titans, and the Washington o-line is mediocre but it sure did seem like he was the preferred rushing option. I don't like that the Commadores only managed 55 offensive snaps, but Robinson split snaps almost evenly with Gibson and had a higher utilization rate. He seems like an interesting option that is probably the most fun to root for. But it is still a bold call to roll him out there with so little to go on.

Pollard>Dillon>Robinson

Stevenson isn't "most likely" he's a must start for you. End of story really.

London looks like he is going to be a good player but, ATM, he also looks like he's TD dependent with sub par QB play. Throw in facing a very tough San Francisco defense and it's difficult to get excited at his prospects.

I think Pollard is a smart play because, well you don't have a ton of options but he also showed how explosive he can be last week.

Eno is also interesting considering the Cardinals have signed two RBs to the practice squad, which suggests Conner and/or Darrell Williams may miss this game. *IF we find Conner and Williams are out Eno is a must start against a bad Seattle defense. But you need to wait on this one a day or two.

Agree on Murray.

Stevenson>>Pollard>Eno*>London>Latavius

Tevin Coleman, Latavius Murray, Mike Boone, James Cook, Zack Moss, Zamir White, Joshua Kelley, Sony Michel, Mark Ingram & Kenneth Gainwell are available on the wire.

Blind dart throw if I ever saw one. Leaning Latavius but Boone seems to have done okay last Thursday.
Tevin Coleman was just signed to the Niner's active roster. The Niners have another winnable game, although another cross-country roadie so maybe he gets some usage.

Best streaming D this week?
Pats, Ravens, Panthers, Bengals, or Bears?
I have a similar question but as I see it eliminate the panthers and ravens off the top. Im currently going with bengals over the Eagles but am waffling and thinking of flipping. The Vikings are available in my league.

For your choices, I think the bears are most likely to generate TOs and sacks, based on opponent. Same with the Bengals to a lesser extent.. but both of those opponents can put up big points and yards. Patriots might be my choice coming off of the shutout.

Thanks! This is a who to drop question - I am not playing any of these guys this week.

Henry and Pierce out on bye, luckily KW3 jumps into a starting role this week so he takes one of those spots.

Need an RB2 this week, 1ppr:
J Warren vs TB
S Perine vs NO
D Jackson vs Jax (would need to add from waivers and drop someone)

Warren and Perine both put up ~10 pts last week but neither are reliable for a repeat. Jackson put up 13 pts last week with JT and Hines out, he only has value if JT misses this week but that is unknown at this point.

I think you need to wait for a status update on both Hines & Taylor before considering Jackson. Taylor was DNP today and Hines was in the non-contact jersey

Perine makes the most sense as I think Warren's usage last week was tied to the devastating nature of the blowout. Maybe, at home, Pittsburgh can keep it closer for a little longer.

Perine>Warren>Jackson

I view this decision as floor vs ceiling. If you are favored I’d go Gordon & Eno based on volume. If you’re a dog I’d favor ETN & Eno.

MJJ and Aiyuk are not trustworthy, though I do think all 49ers W/R/T should be in most lineup -in order, Deebo, Wilson, Kittle, Aiyuk.

Having a senior moment…who is KW3?

I like Warren. He’s looked better than Najee all year, albeit in limited opportunities. I think Harris still has a foot problem. Tomlin said this week they’re using Jalen more and will continue to do so.

Tough matchup but he’s going to face mostly neutral ones ROS. Situation is becoming more interesting. I’m not considering starting him yet but have felt for some time he’s a guy to own. If (bc of a nagging food issue) they shut down Najee for a few weeks, gonna be an excellent opportunity. Beginning of the year no one thought that was a possibility in Pittsburgh.

Y'know, those are four fine options. I 100% agree with your calls.

Stevenson, Jones & Sanders

Would you play waddle over any of those guys this week? I'm thinking about sitting waddle until tua comes back or styler shows something. Other 2 wr are chase and aj brown.

I agree about Eno. Conner was DNP today. If he's out the matchup is too tasty to ignore.

Can't ignore what Etienne did last week. Also can't call it a trend. In addition Jacksonville is trending in the wrong direction and Indy has a very good defense ATM.

Gordon is boring and people are worried about Latavius but I'm not. Gordon is the #1 & Boone/Latavius are 2/3 probably in that order. Boring but 15-18 opportunities should be the expectation IMO.

Like Eno, Aiyuk also has a nice matchup. I worry a little bit about two cross country trips for SF and I also worry they will handle the Falcons (with or without Bosa) shortening the game, and Aiyuk's opportunities a little. But I don't put too much stock in predicting game script.

I have no interest in Marvin. He could score three TDs a week for the next two seasons and still would have cost his fantasy managers more games over his career than he helped them win.

I see it as a coin toss between Aiyuk and Etienne in that 3rd spot.

Eno*>Gordon>Aiyuk>Etienne>>>Marvin

Having a senior moment…who is KW3?
Oops, I disregarded rule 4. KW3 is short for Kenneth Walker III, no real reason to recognize that abbreviation yet since he is a rookie who hasn't even started a game.

Thanks for the feedback from you and Chaka.
I'm just grateful you read the rules. And you didn't violate them as you didn't ask a question about K-to-the-W-to-the-I-to-the-I-to-the-I.

Yeah, you get it.

AJ Brown

FLEX
FLEX
K/D

1/2 PPR. My normal FLEX is Higgins/Pierce. If Higgins is questionable, even if he plays I'm leaning towards not playing him. Fool me once....

Options to fill in the two FLEX are: Taysom Hill, Jeudy, George Pickens, Rondale Moore ___ drop____ Lat Murray, Warren, R.White

Leaning Jeudy/Hill but Pickens gamescript will be heavy passing. Moore stack with Murray also interesting.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Tough-ish call, I get it.

Surtain is good but if Carr/Davante can go 9-101-0 then Herbert/Williams can be plenty relevant.

Hard to discount Pickens ATM (remind me why I chose Doubs over him in the WW two weeks ago?). It's still important to note that Pickens was 3rd in targets last week and snap counts. If you expect Pickett to throw another 50+ passes, a distinct possibility v TB, he makes a great start. However the Steelers QBs average 36 att/game on the season (32 without the Bills game, which represents their worst loss since Bernie Kosar was QB of the Browns).

Etienne was great but one game is not a trend, it's an occurrence. If it happens twice it's a coincidence. Third time, in a row, is a fact. But, you definitely cannot ignore last week. I also hate the matchup and, while I'm not convinced, the Jags look like last year's team over their last two.

Williams>Pickens>Etienne
