Week 2 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (2 Viewers)

Why is no one helping me with mine?!? 🤣
I can only speak for myself and, it's because I'm horribly unqualified to even try to answer it. We don't get a lot of IDP in here, unfortunately.
I like to make things complicated so...

pick 5

Marlon Humphrey vs. CLE
Jaylon Jones vs. DEN
Kamari Lassiter vs. TB
Camryn Bynum vs. DEN
Malik Hooker vs. NYG
Xavier McKinney vs. WAS
Jalen Pitre vs. TB
Isaiah Pola-Mao vs LAC
Justin Reid vs SF
Andrew Wingard vd CIN
Jarvis Brownlee vs. LAR

Can someone help a brother out?

PPR league. 10 team super flex league. Trade question:

I've been offered:

* T. McMillan & M. Golden

For

* E. Egbuka

All of these guys were drafted right near each other. Obviously, Egbuka is off to a hot start, but Godwin is already hitting the practice field.

My other WRs: N. Collins, T. Higgins, G. Pickens

Stand pat or sell high on Egbuka?

Thanks
I have Egbuka in Dynasty, I would not sell right now

-Tet's problems start wit Carolina from the top down, it doesn't help that he has one of the worst starting QB in the NFL right now
-Golden is a straight line speed guy so far, no route chart for him that I can see early on, he might get there later this season but I also noticed how small he is on the field
I didn't realize how tiny he looks vs other WRs...I would at least listen to offers for Golden right now

Egbuka has at least an avg QB in Baker Mayfield, some love him and some are skeptical at times, Baker has moxie for sure.
Run the tape last week in Game1, you think that's fluke? Atlanta took away most option including Bucky Irving and the running game.
Egbuka came thru and didn't do anything over the top, he didn't need to which mean he's gonna get better whn he learns the whole playbook and has even more routes he can execute

HOLD HOLD HOLD, would not sell Egbuka and Evans is goin to retire soon, Godwin misses time, he's dialed in right now. He's way ahead of the other rookie WRs
It's nice to be offered two other young exciting WRs but the early observation are tilted big time towards Egbuka
Golden looks like he will only be useful on fly routes and that's if he can connect with Love, that's another problem, Love can't hit his WRs at the moment

I've had multiple teams want him this week and they all bring these pretty trade calculators to show their offer is fair and I tell them to get lost.
You gotta pay more than market price for Egbuka in Dynasty right now, that's my opinion of course

Full PPR - Need a flex

WR Calvin Ridley home vs Rams
WR Calvin Austin home vs Seahawks
RB Tyrone Tracy at Cowboys
RB Zach Charbonnet at Steelers

Thanks!
Rams are strong on defense, look what they did to Houston last week
Austin cannot be relied on in that offense IMHO...but he might have the best match up.
Charbs vs the Steelers, they still are trying to figure out who their RB1 is IMO
Tracy and the Giants look terrible with Russ out there

Toughest call this week:

Full PPR but 20 yards per point receiving, 10 yards per point rushing

Pick 1:

Quentin Johnston on MNF @ Las Vegas
Kayshon Boutte @ Miami
Cedric Tillman @ Baltimore
Josh Downs vs. Denver
Trey Benson vs. Carolina
Q J will not repeat Week 1 but he definitely is in the game plan for the Bolts
Boutte is the X-WR and he has that role locked down...Miami secondary especially the Cornerbacks are not good. Look what Pittman did last week, Daniel Jones is suddenly a Pro Bowl QB
Browns vs Ravens...I don't think I could start Tillman
Denver has a tough secondary and defense, bad match up for Downs
Benson IMO shouldn't be on this list

Easy to see where I am pointing you towards, good luck!

Last time I played IDP Ronnie Lott had all 10 fingers, but I do like Reid.

IF Brock Bowers is out (PPR):

Kyle Pitts @MIN
Michael Mayer v LAC

Have Pitts in now. With both London and Mooney ailing Pitts should be in line for a solid target share.

But, I do think Mayer is as talented as most TEs to come out over the past 3-5 years and I expect 6+ targets (IF Bowers is out).

thanks Bud. I was just messing around though. I know IDP isn't super popular,at least among the guys that frequent this. As of this post I just have Brownlee, Pola-Mao, Bynum and Lassie in since they scored the most last week.

PPR League. Pick one:

* G. Pickens vs NYG -- A dud last week, but could see some explosive plays this week. NYGs secondary is not Philly's. Home opener.

* J. Mason vs ATL - Decent matchup. MN wants to run the ball. Impressive touch total last week even in negative game script. Could get the goaline carries.

* E. Egbuka @HOU - Everyone in the world is high on this guy after last week, but HOUs D is no joke. Could be one of the best in the NFL. Should have a solid game.

Egbuka currently in the starting lineup, but I'm torn. Feel like Pickens could get loose and/or Mason gets in the endzone.

Which?

Thanks

I want no part of Pickens at the moment. Let's see how he handles being on what is probably another bad football team.

I like Mason a lot but it is a 50/50 timeshare and I don't think he's a part of the passing game and this is a full PPR league. But he's certainly a viable start.

I think you have to go with Egbuka because you should generate some PPR points no matter what and after last week you have to consider him to be very explosive. Although to be fair that could have just been a fluke. Whatever if you still seems like a good start.

Egbuka>Mason>Pickens

PPR league. Need to pick a TE.

* H. Henry @MIA -- He's getting a decent target share, good matchup against a dreadful Miami D, and this could be a sneaky shootout.

* B. Strange @CINC - Actually led JAX in receiving last week. CINC made rookie Fannin look like a superstar. Could be a shootout as well.

* H. Fannin @BALT - One week wonder? Or here for good? BALT should be motivated after a harsh loss to BUF, but CLE usually plays this team well. As long as he's upright, Flacco will sling it. CLE expected pass rate is high and BALT's D just is not that great.

Which?

Thanks

Pretty much a coin toss. Henry and Strange have the better matchups but Baltimore is going to be a top 5 scoring offense (probably top 3) so Cleveland will have to pass.

I guess Henry is the safest option and is who I would probably start.

I would expect Jax to put up a lot of passing yards vs Cinci. And after seeing Fannin's success last week, I expect Strange to be solid this week.

Egbuka easily.

Mayer is talented himself and jumps into a spot that got used a ton last week. Granted, Bowers is an elite talent and it's not just about "the spot"

Pitts has been what he's been. He could pop off this week. He could give you 2 for 15.

I think LAC is likely to get an early lead on the Raiders and the Raiders will pass a lot.

I'm gonna be asking this same question probably every week. First world problem.

Kyler Murray vs CAR or Baker @ HOU

I had this pair last year and made the wrong choice enough to miss my league playoffs because i depended on Kyler's potential way too many times and pretty much ignored that Baker had a career year. My concern with Murray for this week is that AZ may not need to be all that offensive to win this game and Conner/Benson could be a much better play here that the QB and receivers. Baker has the tougher matchup on the road, but that could mean more offense.

So, what say you?
I think you gotta go Kyler and the better matchup. Could it be a blow out early and they run the ball all game? Sure. But they could also put up 38 points against a bad defense and you're left pointing at the shirt.

I'll talk out of both sides of my mouth.

I think Godwin's return is a bit overstated. He'll be slow to ramp back up. He may not be 100% himself until late in the season or even next season.

I think if Egbuka continues to play like an elite WR, they're not going to cut his snaps when Godwin comes back.

That being said, Tet is the CLEAR #1 on his team that sure looks like they're going to lose every game. I'd take Tet alone for Egbuka. Golden is just a cherry on top.

@Chaka apparently Bowers practiced today and Carroll said he looked great/expects him to play. I’d plan to roll Bowers and have Mayers ready as your surprise fallback plan.

Edit: just realized you may not own Bowers haha. If that’s the case, go Pitts

I attempt to give well considered responses to all questions posted. I can't get to everything, but I'll try.

1) This only works if people participate. If you ask for help it is good form to offer help to someone else.

2) Please post the matchup. e.g. Penix vs Den or James Cook @ Mia

3) Please post important league scoring considerations (e.g. PPR, super-flex etc).

4) Please go easy on the nicknames, save that for other threads. We can't help if we don't know who you are talking about.

5) NEW REQUEST: Please remember that if you come here asking advice, it is greatly appreciated if you offer advice to others. TIA

View this as an exercise to help focus your thoughts about teams in general. Players you own may not be involved in these WDIS questions but certainly you will own players on many of these teams. Analyzing other players will help you identify things you may have otherwise not considered.

PPR

Etienne or Dandre swift
Devonta smith or Keon Coleman
Or should I flex Etienne and sit Coleman and Smith

Etienne, but very close.
Smith because Goedert is out.

I would rank it Smith, Etienne, Swift.

I'll start:

PPR I need two:
Marquise Brown v PHI
Jameson Williams v CHI
D'Andre Swift @ DET

ATM I have Brown on the bench in a tough matchup but I am wondering if he should be a starter because it's PPR.
I would go with the two WRs in full PPR. As far as Hollywood, they will have to throw the ball as their crappy RBs won't do anything and Philly will score points. Brown should get 8 plus catches.

I thought Swift looked bad Monday Night. Didn't seem to have the juice he used to have but maybe it was just a bad game.

In a full PPR pick any 2:
Cook vs Jets
Connor vs Panthers
Etienne vs Cincy
Egbuka vs Texans

Which defense allows the least pts/yds:
Texans vs TB
Seahawks vs Pitt

PPR

Or should I flex Etienne and sit Coleman and Smith
Leaning Etienne and hoping week one wasn't a mirage. He was just so dynamic last week and he has a nice matchup.

Personally I would start Coleman over Smith, again hoping it wasn't a mirage, because the thought of having Allen's WR1 is too tempting.

I considered Swift to be a bit of a compiler. He'll get 20 ish opportunities and won't give you a donut. He does have some upside He's the risk averse option.

Devonta has talent for more than the opportunity he's been given. As an Eagle hell get you a TD every 2.5 games, have a 100 yard game every six games with a 5% shot at a multi TD game. I view him as a 5-6 catch, 70-75 ish yard guy. A safe play with some upside.

My feeling is:
Etienne>Coleman>Smith>Swift

In a full PPR pick any 2:
Cook vs Jets

Cook gets too many high quality looks to bench for those options IMO.

I want to say Egbuka but, I think I lean Etienne. In reality one of them, or both, could (or could not) be a mirage. I think, with the Bigsby trade I am more confident in Etienne's opportunity share. But it's close.

Conner is a fine option. He's your best shot at 60 yards and a TD. I do wonder if he is going start ceding opportunity to Benson. Probably not this week, though.

For me:
Cook>Etienne>Egbuka>Conner

There is a strong argument to put Conner at #2 here but, I lean to the upside plays.

Defense is a push so, favor the home team.

Hou>Sea

1 PPR
James Cook at Jets
Javonte Williams vs Giants
Leaning Williams

1 PPR pick 2
Ricky Pearsall at Saints

Courtland Sutton at Colts

Need to start 3 of these 4 players, who is the one I bench? 1 point per first down, no PPR, 1pt each 10 yards rushing or receiving:

Drake London @ Minnesota
Jaxon Smith-Njigba @ Pittsburgh
Courtland Sutton @ Indianapolis
Jaylen Warren vs. Seattle

Got two teams where I own Walker and Charbs together and the nightmare scenario is unfolding.

So two different teams starting lineup calls involving these two. All leagues are FFPC scoring, so PPR, TEP 1.5 PPR, QRRWWTFFKD.

League one:

Walker and Charbs both in the lineup and sit Tyrone Tracy, or commit to one to start with Tracy.

League two:

Walker and Charbs both in the lineup
Or
Sit both SEA's, go with Sampson and Bowers(I have no MNF protection fwiw)
Or
Sampson and choose a SEA, sit Bowers
Or
Choose a SEA and Bowers, sit Sampson

PRIMARY MONEY LEAGUE:
Standard Scoring / PPR
Flex x1 : Keenan Allen v Cedric Tillman?

SECONDARY TEAM:
Standard scoring / PPR
Flex x1: Aaron Jones, Darnell Mooney, Javonte Williams, Tre Benson, Quenton Johnston

Need a flex in half PPR. Should I risk Bowers missing the game on Monday vs LAC, or go with Ridley vs LAR. If I start Bowers and he doesn't play, I don't have roster space to pick up anyone.

Thanks!

This is a tough one because it's super cluttered but I feel like going with the big name.

Choose 1:
AJ Brown @ KC
Ricky Pearsall @ NO
Chris Olave v SF
Jameson Williams v CHI
Emeka Egbuka @ HOU
Travis Etienne @ CIN
D'Andre Swift @ DET
DK Metcalf v SEA

I understand your logic but, I have trouble benching Cook just because of how potent the bills offense is.

Go with your gut. For me:
Cook>Javonte

In PPR, I'd bench Devonta. He just rarely sees the kind of target share the other two should. And he has the toughest matchup.

Pearsall>Sutton>Devonta

Tough one. They all either got a lot of usage, or did well with the usage they got. I want to say Swift but also I'm the President of the D'Andre Swift Can Club, so take it with a grain of salt. He got a lot of touches though.
