Week 8 Waiver Wire pickups (1 Viewer)

Apologies if this is a :honda: as a search did not yield any week 8 results.

Try and avoid comments such as, "He's available???!!!" or of that ilk.

I have Cutler and Vick on bye, so I see that Freeman is going up against the Cardinals and picked him up for a one week start.

Who do you have this week as a fill in or as a WW claim?

Blount?

BMW in some leagues

Fitzpatrick

Stafford if he was dropped

BMW

Garcon if he was dropped

That's who I'm looking at in a 10 man league.

Darby with SJAX's finger surgery.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Steven Jackson (finger surgery) "should be able to play" against the Panthers in Week 8.As we suspected. Tweeted Jackson, "It has been a busy day. Yes, I had surgery on my ring finger but I shouldn't miss a beat. I'm not married so I'm covered there too." Coach Steve Spagnuolo was noncommittal in Monday's day-after press conference, but there's very little chance that the surgery would cost Jackson a game. S-Jax is currently fourth in the NFL in rushing. Oct. 25 - 4:14 pm et

I normally make it my policy not to do this, but I'm not so sure the cards make him such a great play.I would have to go back and actually check it out, but my vague impression is that their defense is actually pretty decent.but I don't want to talk anybody off anything on a half-### opinion.

I kind of like Patrick Crayton especially if Naanee stays out. He's getting looks and could be a decent WR3

Owen Daniels

Last 2 games played he's gone 3/45 and 5/79. After losing Finley and playing the waiver TE merry go round with Moeaki & Shiancoe, I'm willing to take a flyer on Daniels. He's on a lot of waiver wires, and not everyone's looking real close at him at the moment. Houston has IND, SD, & JAC in the next few weeks, so I'm gonna roll the dice.

I'm looking to pickup Blair White or Anthony Gonzalez. Thoughts on the right play? I'm leaning Gonzalez.

Anthony Gonzalez, WR INDNews: Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez refuted an ESPN.com report that said he tweaked his ankle last week and would miss Sunday's game vs. Houston. He expects to play on Sunday. "I saw that little report. I have no idea what that is. No tweaking, nothing. I have no idea where that came from," Gonzalez said. "I'm very optimistic. ... We've been pretty good about how we've handled it. We're doing what we're supposed to do. I'd be surprised if I didn't play." Analysis: Gonzalez is expected to play a significant role for the Colts with receiving threats Dallas Clark and Austin Collie out (Clark's done for the season). Gonzalez knows the offense and has plenty of experience playing with QB Peyton Manning but has been halted by injuries throughout his career. If he can play on Sunday against a porous Houston secondary, Gonzalez could be productive. We'd roll the dice on him as a No. 3 WR or flex option given the shape of the Indy offense right now.

Wouldnt shock me if Kitna puts up low QB1 high QB2 #s with all those weapons. I wouldnt hesitate starting him vs Jax. Hes a good QB

1. Mike X Will-I-Am

2. Steve Johnson

3. Whoever becomes the clear Indy Slot WR

4. James Jones

Receiver only since that's all I care about this week...

Intrigued by Gettis' statline. Didn't see any of the game....worth a dynasty stash if he's available? I'm guessing still WW fodder in redrafts.

Blount

Danario Alexander if he was dropped.

Any top guys if they were dropped of course.

Steve Johnson (possibly all ready rostered)

James Starks (still).

Tim Tebow

Steve Johnson and Lee Evans are both available in my league. So is Mike Williams (SEA). I'm probably going to try to get Johnson and Williams. Evans has more name recognition and might not be available at my WW slot. Doesn't matter, though. Whoever I get I'll only have for 1 week. Then I'll have to try to get them back again.

RB: Blount for sure. On TB, probably no more than a Flex or low RB2. But who wouldn't take that from a Week 8 FA?

WR: Burleson. Gets WAS with Stafford back and six teams on bye.

TE: Hoomanawanui. Maybe not as a Week 8 guy, but Bradford loves the guy and the Rams will be chucking it 650 times this year. Somebody has to catch em.

Dropped some dead weight for Daniels, who was dropped by another owner last week due to bye issues. Nice TE2, for sure.Caddy might be startable due to bye week issues - he is playing the Cardinals. Him or Blount (both?) might put up some numbers this week.
