Weekly Waiver Wire Pick Ups - **CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK** Week 17 starts on Page 30 (1 Viewer)

My sincere first thought was "I assumed that guy was retired...since 2017."
Maybe so…irrelevant in fantasy but dude is a spark plug in GB.  Gets the bench and crowd going.  Makes some decent catches and probably more importantly is a friend to Rodgers.

He has to be rostered in most leagues.  If not, he should have been already, even with healthy Sanders.
Dropped in my 12 team redraft this am just before kickoff.

If Sanders misses significant time he may be rosterable.

Siriani really looks to be in over his head.

At the very least he's getting garbage time dump offs. Even though Hurts missed him wide open on 3 of them today.

Agree to a degree but Hurts has below average accuracy and has particularly struggled hitting Gainwell with 19 receptions on 31 targets (4 of 8 today).

With how much usage Scott got today I am not sure Gainwell has anything more than the limited, occasional flex value had before Sanders got hurt.

Gainwell is still evolving.  Scott is JAG.  I know one thing and that is Gainwell better not fumble next week.

His knee was down but they "didn't have enough evidence to overturn."

His knee was totally down. Blown call.

I’m one of the many who held Gainwell for weeks and dropped him after last week’s game when he was barely used. I probably won’t get him back, but I’m not sad about it because it looks like Sanders will only be out a few weeks at max and I don’t trust the offensive gameplan to improve. I’m going to let someone else blow their waiver priority on him.

Same for to injuries and bye week and of course he was picked up and now someone has a free RB.

M. Gallup

K. Cousins

PIT D

Bunch of week 7 bye week players out there that may have been dropped. And could still be picked up today before the door closes for waivers being run.

Just grabbed PIT D. CLE matchup not so great this week, but then CHI and DET follow.

Gallup maybe back this week?

Gainwell depending on sanders injury
He was dropped on Saturday in my 14-team re-draft by a team stuck with bye weeks.   Let's say the chances of Sanders returning for the fantasy playoffs are murky, is Gainwell worth going all-in?

I have 1/2 of my FAAB, which is more than most of the contenders.   I'm thinking he's probably worth it, even though I might still get sniped.

I bet he thinks he has everyone fooled that’s he’s smart with the dumb highlighter on the visor.

Is Boston Scott viable? Maybe the better pickup in standard? This entire Philly “run game” seems like a stay away.

JJ Taylor?

Didn't see the game, but he got touches and 2 TDs. Nothing posted about him at all since the game. What am I missing?

Garbage time. Pats put up 50+.

Bolden was the pass catching back early in the game.
Ditto plus Rhamondre Stevenson was a last moment healthy scratch opening the door for JJ some. Patriots play RB games and maybe they know what they are doing to avoid a catastrophe? I would think Stevenson is still the guy for a handcuff to Harris.

Think Stevenson scratch was gameplan specific. Jets are horrid at dealing with RBs out of the backfield. Wouldn't be surprised to see JJ inactive next week.

Although LAC are equally terrible against RBs as well so...

I think you have to consider Gainwell>Scott ATM.  That may not mean much on Sundays but Scott had two targets and zero rush attempts on the entire season before Sanders went down.

Again, Siriani seems entirely unwilling to commit to a traditional running game in favor of RPO all day every day, and unless that changes I think Hurts is truly the only viable magic football commodity in Philly.

Which allows for Stevenson to be "more" fresh and healthy or unscathed. There is rhyme and reason from the Patriots football organization. It's not about fantasy to them lol. For us, we gotta figure that out.

As someone who dropped Stevenson after the latest inactive, I believe he belongs on the bargain bin list for week 8 pickups.  Inactive tag was frustrating but it wasn't a complete rage drop on my part.  I needed to protect my FLEX with Callaway in case Collins has a setback on MNF.

I plan on making a modest waiver bid to reclaim Stevenson if I strike out on Gainwell, but this is a 14-team league.

I have two potential roster spots open this week (don't need a second D with Dallas coming off bye, and figure Damien Williams is probably droppable). Would love to add some RB depth (my starters are Gibson and Jacobs), but don't think any of the available options are worth a waiver claim. Will probably just wait until waivers clear and see what's left. Here's how I would rank what's out there:

  1. Carter -- Low ceiling, but he is at least getting the work. His receiving numbers yesterday were encouraging? Anyone who watched the game know how much of that was just garbage time drop-offs?
  2. Gainwell -- Dropped him a couple weeks ago. Not super excited, but there is at least the potential for a late-season breakout a la Sanders in his rookie year
  3. Latavius -- Unclear when he'll be back. Hard to imagine the Ravens running game will be trustable anytime soon, but if anyone is going to be the clear-cut starter, it will likely be him
  4. Handcuffs:
  • Ahmed -- Malcolm Brown is heading to IR and Gaskin hasn't done a ton
  • Perrine -- Cinci's offense is clicking and Mixon is perpetually nicked up)
  • Penny -- Looks like Collins will be back tonight, but you can grab him now and avoid waivers

I've dabbled with numbers 1, 2, and 3. I pivoted away from L Murray and Gainwell (twice) onto Michael Carter in two leagues - he got the start in both during this big bye week. I clicked on Carter to see what he was doing on a bad team that just lost their QB. Not too bad. He's worth a roster spot and spot start for sure. Gainwell is probably in high demand if Sanders were to miss any time at all. But, we saw a lot of B Scott too. 60/40 or so. He was supposed to perhaps slowly take over a lil more as Sanders took on less? Then Sanders established himself the week prior and looked good. Analyst predicting a breakout game, then the injury..

You're correct on the others. Depends upon how deep to go and whom else to take a flier on.

I have to disagree.  With Gainwell getting so much work in the receiving game he makes for a decent flex.  He was a borderline starter as a flex with Sanders starting because of receptions.

I viewed him as an very unreliable occasional flex play/bye cover with the potential to surprise. I viewed Sanders pretty much the same way.

Not sure that assessment has changed, because Siriani is still coaching.

For what it's worth, Lazard was usually convered by Washington backup DB Danny Johnson, who usually plays special teams.
And this week could be covered by a top CB. The guy I like Thursday is TE Robert Tonyan. Woke up finally and should be getting more play with Adams out. Maybe a streamer for Andrews owners.

Also a solid choice as he has had big weeks in the redzone when Adams has been out.

Its all sort of a crapshoot to know who will be getting the attention of the D and attention of Rodgers.

Lazard with Adams on Covid list?

Definitely a big risk.
I don’t think Lazard is a big risk. Rogers trusts him and there should be some points put up in this game. If MVS is out he should be a solid play. If MVS plays I still think he can get 4 or 5 catches.

I’m gonna put out some decent FAAB fo Pitt D. I don’t think the Cleveland game is bad at all plus they are rested from their bye. Playing Chicago and Detroit at home is like printing money.

I’ve been in Defense hell this year. My streaming choices have whiffed every time. I need the three week break from streaming.

If you're TE needy Pat Freiermuth could be a thing in the second half of the season. JuJu is out and Pat got a bunch of targets in the last game. He looks very good. Not a league winner but somebody you may be able to plug in.

Bye week streamer for Lamar:

Teddy at home vs WFT or

Danny Dimes at KC?

Leaning Danny, especially if Toney and/or Shephard are trending toward playing.  Would appreciate any input.

I picked up Jones specifically for this week.

Teddy is not bad especially with Jeudy coming back. Denvers D is horrible right now so there could be some points in this game.

I feel like Jones is close to a break out if the players around him can get healthy.

I like Jones so much more as a player, far more upside than Bridgewater.

But, if Jeudy comes back while Toney & Shepard & Golladay are out it becomes a much tougher call.

Personally I shoot for the Jones upside but that's how I play, YMMV.

FYI @facook I just read that Jeudy is expected to play this week.

Remind me again why he's called Danny Dimes?
