I have PSVUE and it has been pretty good for the most part. Much better picture than Sling or Directv now and way less freeze ups than Directv now (used all 3 with a ROKU stick). I am waiting for Hulu or Youtube tv to get NFL Network to try them, but PSVUE has been the best of the ones I have tried even though it is more expensive than Sling.
I have been using Hulu live since March with Fios (150/150) and an Orbi (25ish electronic devises) and have had little problems.

How many millions of users is Leo serving? Not trying to be a ####, but I’d bet the number of people using pirated stuff is way smaller than the top service providers. Not saying there isn’t an issue. Also, let’s be honest, people don’t complain when paying nothing and knowing it’s pirated. Do you have the Firestick plugged into the wall/outlet or into the TV’s USB? You say the smart TV is bad as well so that’s really weird. My Firestick on my 3rd floor works great and my router is two floors down even before I got my new mesh router yesterday.
Not sure how the projectors work for input devices, but will it accept a Chromecast? If so, you can cast your screen from your phone/tablet (android) using the DirecTV app to the Chromecast.
I have the Firestick plugged directly into the tv hdmi input with the power coming from an outlet The router (ATT) is one floor up, but as I said the signal is extremely fast on my ipad while sitting a few feet from the tv. Based on some googling this morning, I will make sure all the firmware is updated when I get home tonight. Other than that, I'm at a loss.
It makes no sense. Is the Smart TV the same speed wise? Maybe it’s a bad Firestick. I’ve never had a picture quality issue, but I have to assume that there are some bad ones out there.
Yes, have a receiver. Haven't figured out a realistic way to get the signal from the receiver to the projector.
Due to the length the cable would need to be? Could you just move the receiver during games and then move it back Sunday evening?
The TV and firestick are both very slow - single digits. I'm going to spend some more time on it this evening and will check back in if I learn something.
Because I'm setting my projector up in my backyard, and don't want to have to run the cable through an open door or window, or have to drill a hole in a wall so I can watch a game a couple of times a year outside.
I'm not familiar with direct tv streaming capabilities. That said, there are ways you can stream games to a firestick or chromecast assuming the projector has an HDMI input.

Can you just buy another TV and then stream it that way?
I'm not sure but I think what I was looking at is the dispute is between AT&T and CBS so I don't think it is all streaming devices? I'm not certain though.
I'm always open at looking at options but streaming service options are so affordable and good that don't have to shop around.

That may be right. Honestly I don’t have any reason to watch CBS so I didn’t look at it very closely.
HULU Live has HGTV. And all the major sports networks for NFL. They do not have NFL Network though.
Roku is just a device. You'd need to add one of the streaming services like ChiefD mentioned - Hulu Live, Sling, YoutubeTV, etc....
We're in the infancy of our 'cut the cable' journey. Our initial check of Roku said it had a lot of free material, and I was wondering if HGTV was part of that "free" material. Sounds like a no. From a streaming perspective, if we can get whatever is on HGTV, CBS (Survivor/NFL), FOX (NFL), and PBS (This Old House) we'd be golden. So I'll look into Hulu Live as an option. Yeah, there's a ton of free apps you can (search for and) add to a Roku device if they're not already preloaded when you get it. I have an older model (a 3, I think) and it came with maybe a dozen apps already on it (I know Prime & Netflix were there). I've since added dozens of apps.
Hulu will be supported by ads, haven't been able to determine if that gets you live tv too?
