I've had two memory foam beds in my time (got rid of first because a girlfriend disliked it and getting rid of second to move up to to a king foam now that I'm married with 3 animals)....the mattress will come vacuum sealed and smaller than you expect, but it will take form very quickly. The airing out that most recommend is for a paint-like smell that takes a couple of days to dissipate. If you can handle the smell, go for it.
Ordered the same bed and been using it for a week. Sleeping great and with no back pain. But, does anybody have the same problem where the bed doesn't seem flat? Seems higher in the middle...
I'm about to buy one of these. Torn between the base model and the PacBamboo. What is it about the bamboo cover that makes it worth the extra $500?
I love the PacBamboo. Lots of others do too. I'm not sure what the difference is, but no hesitation whatsoever -- I'd say pull the trigger on it.
Sleep Innovations itself says box springs, platform or slats are just fine with their mattresses.
Sometimes you just take a shot at something, add with many online purchases. Careful with the sleep innovations. One I bought for my parents and one my toddler, both way firm. I think my pacbamboo bed in a box is right in the sweet spot.
I was anxious as well, but based on what I learned in this thread and reading a ####load of Amazon reviews, I felt more confident. I went with the 10" Sleep Innovations based on the research because of the depth of the soft layer on top, and it was just right. It was a gamble that paid off.

Got the Tempur Pedic Cloud Luxe Breeze a little over 3 months ago, bed is absolutely fantastic!
So comfortable, really like sleeping on a cloud... Sleeps at a great temp too.

It's firm, but it's different than just a normal firm mattress. If I sit on the edge of the bed, I think it's a rock, but when I lie on it, it's very comfortable. That's actually the biggest difference for us - sitting on the edge to put on socks is more like sitting on a wooden chair than a couch cushion. When lying down, it's perfectly comfortable and doesn't really feel firm. I went with the base model, the PacBed Original. I'm sure the PacBamboo is great, just seems like the same bed with a bamboo pillowtop for an extra $500. Their site says the bamboo mattress is firmer than the original, so that was my only concern. But with their return policy, I figured I have nothing to lose.
Hey Oat. Do you think the Gel foam makes a difference in heat?

Maybe to address the "hotness" issue some people notice with memory foam. Not sure its going to be enough to address the comfort issue (seems people either really like the memory foam or really dislike it). They have a 1.5" of high density memory foam under the latex...with a total depth of 10". Unfortunately they only have one location to try it out right now (NY). You may want to still go try out different latex and memory foam beds. We went out with the intent of buying a memory foam bed but didn't like the feel of them.
This made me laugh. I picture someone from there asking about a fantasy football team and receiving a link to FBG with a note like "This is like MU for fantasy football. These guys spend a LOT of time on this stuff."

Not recent, but I still love my Sleep Number after 15 years. I can't see any of the foams holding up that long.
