What is the Deal with Parking at Super Bowl? (1 Viewer)

So I'm lucky enough to be going to the SB and when I was looking on eBay I noticed some folks were also selling $99 parking passes for the stadium? I'm assuming that's just if you want to do the official stadium parking? There must be other private lots outside the stadium?

Just curious if it's like a normal football game or bc it's the Super Bowl the parking is going to be strict and wacky?

Anyone?

I think the NFL Experience has setup shop on much of the main lot surrounding the stadium. I also heard that tailgating is completely banned "due to security reasons". There are some satellite lots near the stadium, but I'm sure those prices are inflated for this particular event too. Here's something from azcentral.com

Also be prepared to park a little farther from the stadium, because the security perimeter eats up a good chunk of parking real estate. On game day, traffic and security will be heavier. Parking passes for $60 should be purchased ahead of time at www.clickandpark.com.Limited cash parking will be available off 91st Avenue just north of Glendale Avenue. Here is some need-to-know game-day parking information:• No re-entry into parking lots. This effectively ends any plan to have a friend drop you off and pick you back up. Taxis are the only vehicles that will be allowed in and out.• No tailgating is allowed in the NFL-controlled lots.

I was at the Stadium today. There were tons of concrete barriers and everything was a cluster. I'd guess offsite wold be the best bet, but you'll have a walk. Consider a shuttle and hit the bars and restaurants 1/2 north of the stadium. Get to the Yardstick at 10AM and bring your wallet.

i'm staying with my cousin in AZ when I go to the game. i assumed that i'd have him drop us off somewhere and we'd walk towards the stadium. what does "the yardstick" mean? is that a general area where we should go?

Thanks for the heads up, AzGroover. The anti-tailgating policy pretty much eliminates any need to buy a parking pass. I'll probably just head out early and park at a satellite lot and hoof it.

Very clever. You've come up with a thread to tell people you are going to the superbowl under the guise of a question about "parking".
