What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Bissell Brothers Swish

Cigar City White Oak Jai Alai

Now a Tree House Doubleganger with the ribs from my xmas prime rib.

Life is good

Brandy BA Alpha Kong in the kiosk today @ FFF -- nope.

BTW, if anyone wants a bottle of non-BA Kong, I still have one left that I'll never drink and I'd trade it cheap as a throw in. Sweet malty cardamom bomb ( I absolutely loathe cardamom in beer). Terrible beer IMO, but some people actually do like it, and after DL variants, it's probably the biggest and most sought after FFF "whale" (only released twice) so anyone that wants the "tick," hit me up. I try to include that em effer in every trade I make but no takers yet LOL.

Ended up with the last 4 pack each of Westy and Thai PA -- the Honey Badger was evidently gone immediately (only had 4 x 4). Excited to try these -- Bare Hands has been on my wish list for a while.
These are both very good. The Thai is very interesting -- definitely spicy / herbal / earthy, but not overwhelming at all, the citrus and bitterness are definitely front and center with the rest in the background.

Will seek out and buy again, and now I'm really jonesing to try Honey Badger -- well done DIPAs with honey are one of my favorite sub-styles (Hopslam, Artaic, etc).

Civil Society Grandma's Lemonade, an apricot-passion fruit Berliner

New Glarus Raspberry Tart

Nice refreshing beers for this Florida winter weather.

At Flossmoor Station earlier. Had their BA Shadow of the Moon. Surprised at how much I liked it. A little hot but really tasty.

Got a case of Juice by Ellison, supposed to be A level stuff. Going to smuggle a few down to Cancun with me, the craft beer thing hasn't made it there yet.

Barley Brown's IPA

i think my three favorite breweries out here are Block 15, Barley Browns and Breakside.  Feels weird not to list Cascade on the list but just don't drink the sours as much as I should.

Heading out to lunch today to a local place with 69 craft beers on tap.  Will have a few IPAs and then drinking wine tonight.  Dry January for me so last beers for a while, going to be a long month.

@ditka311 @Hawks64

Open Bottle has Transient The Juice is Loose -- haven't had it yet, but people absolutely rave about it. Debating making the hour plus drive...
They also had Hop Butcher yesterday and that sold out right away. I'd call before going.

That's why I love/hate that place.

ETA: you both beat me to it.

Man I need to check the beer cellar more frequently, they had a ton of juice is loose and hop butchers reply hazy try again. Missed both since I didn't check yesterday or the day before.

I don't have anything local I can go to as far as stores. Mokena binnys kind of sucks. I used to be less than 10 min from Open Bottle so I could chase immediately. I don't miss the chase though. Eventually the popularity will lead to increased production and/or options so chasing won't be necessary anyway.

In theory.

Yeah that blows. I'm pretty lucky in that my go to is < 10 minutes from the office, and he's really good with FB and Twitter updates. I can almost always just run up there as needed when something hits. Of course IN pretty much blows as far as getting stuff vs IL -- ex the Transient stuff -- drove right through NWI to get to Chicago without stopping LOL.

So wound up going to The Beer Cellar and picked up some Alpine Pure Hoppiness, Hailstorm Nimbus, 3F Space Station Middle Finger and wound up hitting Noon Whistle for a growler of Hipster vs Lumberjack a Vanilla Oat Red.

How far of a drive is that for you? Do you work near Tinley?
Gary is under 1/2 hour, Hammond 45 minutes. I work in Schererville, so nope. But I'm < 10 minutes from FFF and the best local liquor store for craft beer. Also 5 minutes from Whole Foods, which is a great place to score stuff under the radar -- grabbed KBS, BCBS, and Hopslam there this year.

I love Open Bottle, but it's a trek. Liquor Stop in Highland is my main guy, and Pat's in Porter is also great, but out of the way. Liquor stores in Valpo are pretty meh for craft beer since Godfathers closed.

Being 30 from 18th St I'd be on a first name basis with all of them lol.

They definitely know me LOL. Not really a huge "drink at the bar" guy though, usually just grabbing to go. I've met and BS'ed with Drew when he's behind the bar a bunch of times too, and he is a totally normal down to earth nice guy.

Been drinking way too much beer as I've been off for these two weeks.  I threw a SN Trip in the Woods - BA Narwhal with red and black currants - in the fridge for tonight.  I've always wanted to try some of these Trip in the Woods series beers and bought myself one as a treat.  We'll see how it goes.

Lagunitas Sucks right now.

Jade is sooooo good. 18th Street's APA game is just absolutely top shelf. I'll put Jade, Temporal Purgatory, Candy Crushable, and Lake Street Express up against anyone's lineup.

And their IPAs are probably even better IMO.

Settled on a run to 18th Street to grab Jade, Villain, and Deal with the Devil.
I was taking 80 over to Orland Park today and was very close to missing my exit and "ending up" in Hammond.

Settled for a couple of growlers of Cumulus. One for tonight.

I did get a Hop Butcher.....Milkstachio.

Love Jade. Also a big fan of Rise of the Angels and Undercrown...
