What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Lord hobo consolation prize appears to be on tap now at my Whole Foods.  Seen the brewery mentioned in here a few times.  Should I definitely get that?
Haven’t had that one, but I’d guess it’s worth trying on draft. Their Glorious is a great beer IMO, and Boom Sauce is fine but overpriced.

Light beer. Gotta drop a few lbs. Decided the heavy craft beers need to go. Might start with one, then moving over to the light stuff. It sucks about as bad as it sounds.

Coppertail Sorcha O'Sullivan IPA...really digging this, and 6 packs at $10 out the door is the best deal around right now.

Still haven't found Born Yesterday. :kicksrock:

Edit: my beer store just got Born Yesterday  :pickle:

Picked up a couple Big Bad Baptists, a BA cocoa narwhal with coconut today and Goose Island Cooper Project 3 (barrel aged Porter). Almost grabbed a So Happens It's Tuesday from the Bruery but passed.

Then found out that tomorrow Hailstorm is releasing BA Vlad with blueberry and BA Vlad Conquistator with coffee.

I love this time of year. My bank account, lack of self restraint, and wife do not.

Noon Whistle is releasing a vanilla imperial porter tomorrow. Sounds good to me!

Treehouse Bright w/Citra, excellent beer. Reminds me of Grey Sails Captain's Daughter although that is more Mosiac hops.

So I've now had a sampling of great beers from Treehouse but I do have to say there are a handful of other New England breweries I like as much if not better than Treehouse.

Kinda frustrates me a little. TreeHouse is doing great things, don't get me wrong. But there are others out there doing great things too, but they never seem to get the praise. In a selfish way, this is a good cause it means I can get some good beer with out the BS of standing in line for 50+ minutes, but bad when the other guys can't grow or get props for the things they are doing. And not everything that TH puts out is super duper extra awesome blow the crap outta everything else either.  (For example, I went over the other night later. So they were outta Haze, bummer. But they were also outta Ma. Oh darn. Didn't bother me a bit. I did walk away with the case+ of Julius, so I was still happy). The good news is that TH seems finally pushing the volumes up. Hopefully this will help sate some of the demand.

Bright is their least good IPA IMO.

TH is still spectacular, as is Trillium, The Alchemist, Lawson’s, and the other trend setters in the NE IPA style. But that said, the field has narrowed the gap a ton, to where it’s barely noticeable. I haven’t traded for any NE stuff in a while, personally, because there are a bunch of local breweries that are damn near as good in the same style (Windmill, 18th Street, Transient, Mikerphone, etc).

I hear that. The craft beer craze has definitely contributed to my kegger abs. So many delicious dark beers to try.

Watching the game and going thru the Magic Hat Halloween sampler pack. Heart of darkness- stout good stuff and only 5.7%

Lucky Kat- an Amber IPA. Nice and hoppy but nothing special.

Howl- dark lager, just awful and only 4.6%

Bright is their least good IPA IMO.
The different variations of Bright are something. Bright w/Citra is a completely different beer than Bright w/Nelson, etc. It is pretty amazing how different they can taste. And you are both wrong. The Doggleganger rules all.

Doppel might be my favorite. And Ego. And Green. And Dr J.  :banned:

And yeah the Bright variations are all different and tasty...Nelson might be my favorite of the ones I've tried

Man I Haven't had any TH or Trillium in months and months...Im actually shipping a 2017 Hunahpu for some Trillium next week (Sleeper St and DDH Melcher). Can't wait to revisit both.

More Born Yesterday for me as well. Also saw there is a Creamsicle M43 and Strawberry Tart M43...I have to get that

Obligatory shout out to Larry Bell for Two Hearted. I honestly can’t think of another American beer that has been so delicious, consistent, and relevant for two freaking decades. And it’s under ten freaking dollars a sixer and always floating around fresh as can be. If craft beer had a HOF, Two Hearted would be a unanimous first ballot inductee.
I can find this stuff at random gas stations in Ohio.  I always think it will be old, but it never is.  Finest Kind is another consistent cheap one I go to.  Picked up some Mad Elf earlier. I've never been a fan of Belgian yeasts, but this isn't bad and it's got some kick at 11%.

Last night turned out to be a good night. Shared the following:

2016 Darkness

2017 Darkness

BA cocoa coconut Narwhal

2016 BCBBW

2015 "Rare"

It was not bad.  A little sweet for me, but definitely drinkable for a 9.5 beer.

Lamentably, bartender told me that they did have Glorious in cans recently but it was all gone, but on the plus side, he believes that they will be distributing more here in the future.

Born Yesterday, Two Hearted, and Deal with the Devil as I shiver and grill steaks. Debating a fire — if it gets windy again tonight it’ll just be miserable (trunk or treat last night sucked ###); either way tonight has “big stout” written all over it. I kind of want to rid my cellar of the last bottle of Lizard of Kos currently insulting the rest of my stash with its presence — wonder if it’s still a sickly sweet blueberry mess?

Got some more Ten FIDY and Death by Coconut as well as an Evil Twin Bible Belt.. Their take on BOMB.

Picked up some born yesterday. Didn’t realize it was such a thread favorite. It’s excellent but I think i like the stone enjoy by better.

I might join you and open my Koz too. I didn't think it was that bad buy I'm in the minority.

Maybe wash it down with something light like a Big Bad Baptist.

It’s actually better now with some age on it IMO — still not a great beer, but I’ll be able to solo the bomber, after struggling to split one a year ago.

Ran out of Born Yesterday. Gas station didn't have any more but I did get Odd Side Passion Dank Juice. It's really good

Only thing that bothers me about the Dank series is they call it a NE IPA. It's not. It is cloudy but not hazy and doesn't have the pillowy mouthfeel. They are just really good dank IPAs why the misleading marketing?
