What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Wicked Weed Brewing: Black Angel. Butt nasty imo

Leaven Brewing: Key West Express. Great Key Lime sour with a touch of graham cracker. Nicely balanced and quite tasty.

Anyone in the San Diego and Orange County, CA areas, seems there are some beer festivals going on you can participate in from the comfort of your home:

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/san-diego-beer-festival-virtual-edition-tickets-101729258952

Looks like $32.50 for the ticket and 11.49 for the delivery of the beer (pickup is free)

A case of 10 special release beers and brewery swag will be delivered to your house the day before the event or you can pick it up at select locations. The case features beers from 10 different local and regional breweries. A video link will be sent to all guests and on Saturday, you can enjoy the guided tastings of each beer from their distinct brew master or ambassador in the convenience of your own living room. There will also be band performances and interactive games....

Might be worth checking if there are any similar going on in your areas!

nice idea.

increased beer delivery is a great perk of this whole thing...

Picked up 2 local 16 oz from Indian Valley Brewery

racer Friday west coast double ipa 8.1% fml

The other is an extra special bitter they just released today, saving that for desert since it’s only 5.8%
I’m gonna be #### faced

I’ll just say when the chips were down and I had to stock up I grabbed the Maudite & Dogfish 60. That is all.

Picked up a couple of 64oz growler fills of Civil Society's Fresh IPA and a fill of Parish's Ghost in the Machine yesterday...gonna get into them tonight, as well as a bottle of Garagiste's Goobvee One, which is a PB&J mead...the J in this one is a combo of grape, blueberry, strawberry, and apple.

:banned:

Hop Craic a quadruple ipa from Moylans brewery @SFBayDuck you should pick some up if you like doubles or triples.
Oh I've had it!  But good call, we normally go there once-twice a month to grab lunch while out running errands, have kind of forgotten about it since casual errands and dining out are not currently a thing.

Starting with vodka w/ a blend of pink lemonade and cherry juice.   Deeeelicious.  Then will have a trio of brews for this evening's FFA poker game.

They mass-produced it like crazy.  Ever since ownership changed, it has slipped.  The only barrel-aged stuff i buy anymore is directly from the brewery.
I used to be a big fan of Founders but the last few years have been bad. I’m just not interested in their stuff anymore. Like you said there’s the sale to Spain, overproduction and the racism issues. I’m out with them.

If I get anything its Rubaeus or Breakfast Stout.  The rest is average.

I saw Ocelot post they were taking orders for deliveries in NoVA, but site now says no longer taking orders. So, I guess I missed the chance to get some Ocelot delivered.  :kicksrock: @Sebowski, think that will happen again?

ETA: Just saw taking more orders on Monday. In.

My notebook is out of date and just realized it has been awhile since a Sebowski sighting around here....  Anyway, I just ordered about $80 worth of beer from Ocelot with delivery straight to my home later this week (including some Nebulous and Sidewalk IPAs, and the new Mini Corazon release). Throwing a good tip on top of that. Happy to help keep giving Ocelot some business.

I was not a fan at all. Antwerpen and foreign are two of my favorite beers so i thought i would like it.

Bought a terrapin multi pack. Been a big fan. Love the cans and the names too. What isnt to like about "senior crunkles?"

Normally a much bigger fan of stouts and porters, but trying to will nice weather so fruity, hazy, session, tropical ipa time.

agreed ... better than a straight Guinness ... but pretty thin for a milk stout.
I have become a big fan of guiness mixed with pecan whiskey.

Only came up with it because regular guiness kind of blows, but I love the other three stouts in the 200 year anniversary pack. So i tried it one night.

Revel stoke pecan in a crappy dark beer is amazing. Tested with several others.

Draw the line at boatswain double stout from trader joes though. Worst beer ever. Wouldnt even try braising pork with that crap.

Do any of you ever try flavoring beer with hard liquor?

We discovered this not that long ago. Liquor store near me went out of business. Guy didnt care about liquor laws and needed to close before the new year. So if you bought at least 6 bottles it was 60% off. Eventually was 90%, but stock was thin at that point and only weird flavored stuff was left. But that was how we found the pecan whiskey and some other stuff.

Takes like two teaspoons.

Nice to see this thread active tonight.

7venth Sun Mangrove DIPA

Coppertail Hop Skull 9

Tampa Beer Works Joosy Froot

Garagiste Key Lime Pie mead

Block 15 Sticky Hands

Breakside IPA now in cans!  They did a special double dry hopped version for the release

Reubens Pilsner

I'm not a fan of the "boozy" Imperial stouts so I don't think that I'd be a fan of adding more octane to my stout...

but a flavored whiskey might be right in my wheelhouse. ... and I do like pecan flavor.  :oldunsure:
