What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Growler of Toolbox Sweet Baby Trey delivered cold and fresh to my door. That's a great sister right there.
A buddy is at Toolbox right now, he just texted me a pic of the Grass Fed Lettuce growler he just got filled to ship to me, and is sending a fill of Purple Drink too (latest batch releasing tomorrow, and he lives 4 miles from the brewery). They will be my first ever Toolbox beers.

I have 6 tickets (I think, 110% certain) for GABF. 4 are taken to Buckfast and another friend.

2 could be available to the FFA. Unknown date at this time. Things will come into focus in September.

Just grabbed three big Boulevard sours to crack tonight -- Two Jokers, Love Child No. 5, and found a slightly dusty bottle of 2014 Saison-Brett on the back of the top shelf at a little bottle shop I go to a few times a year. Jackpot!

Last night....

Community Beer Works Francois

Sam Adams

Southern Tier IPA x3

Victory Summer Love

Can't really complain about the options at a concert, all things considered.

Just got done mowing, firing up the grill for some prime ribeyes from Costco. Warming up with some Weihenstephaner Hefe before breaking out the big guns after dinner.

Awesome! Thanks a lot, man!

Someone should jump on the Aristocrat's generous offer. GABF week in Denver is my favorite time of the entire year.

Picking up some Cigar City Tocobaga Red later (they canned some yesterday), it hasnt been available for a long damn time, at least 7-8 months..its the best hoppy red Ive had, and is supposed to be one of their year-round core beers. Cant wait to drink a couple after work tonight!

Todd the Axe Man - Fantastic beer, if you love IPAs you need to get it.

PW War Bird - Interesting, good but not great.

Hey Ditka Tribes tapped Todd today so get there if you can for it.

Half Acre Vallejo courtesy of Hawks (thanks GB!). Love this beer. I forgot how light colored it is - its deceiving. Dank city. I'd buy this #### by the case if it was available here.

On deck for the weekend:

Another Vallejo IPA
Pipeworks/4 Hands Black Tuna (black DIPA)
Birdsong Jalapeño Pale Ale :headbang:
Hailstorm Sour Farmhouse w/apricots
Trillium Galaxy Dry Hopped Fort Point Pale Ale :excited:

Trillium Headroom DIPA
Cigar City Tocobaga hoppy red ale :)
Funky Buddha Last Snow :suds:

I've drank through all my sours so I'm gonna sit on my Wicked Weed Amorous for a while.

Having a Birdsong Jalapeno Pale Ale because I couldnt wait any longer. Delicious. Dug around and found this post from last October, when I first had this beer:

Birdsong Brewing's Jalapeño Pale Ale, poured from a growler. Yeah, I know, I was in NC with access to lots of great beers, and I opted to bring a growler of THIS home? WTF right?

Not a highly rated beer but I think its interesting and unique...it has a subtle jalapeño taste, but without the heat you'd expect. Weird, different and strangely refreshing.

ETA: HUGE thanks to Hawks for parting with 2 cans. I got your back for this man!

Anytime GB! And yeah I was shocked I liked it as much as I did. Really good beer, very unique like nothing I have ever had before. I have had pepper beers but they have heat, this one has none.

Are you in Charlotte? If so I can send some Chicago IPAs for Uknown and Hop Cakes when it comes out next.

Wait what...it's back already?

Probably drank 3-4 cases of Vallejo this summer. Love that ####. Same as Heyoka last year.

Was out last week in WI and paying the "vacation penalty" at work this week so haven't really checked in.

They have it at on tap at Open Bottle too. I have 5 left in the fridge and went back today hoping to pick up one more 4 pack. They were out. Great stuff but it should be at $18 a 4 pack. I was lucky enough to get the last 2 4 packs in the cooler at Woodmans in Kenosha.

I was talking to my brother about this today too. When we were at DLD this year we arrived late. We were kind of disappointed at first not to see any rarez or omgwhalezbro on tap at that time. So we somewhat dejectedly got Todd the Axe Man because we are big fans of Surly in general. It surprised the hell out of both of us. I am glad they canned it.

Tonight, drinking a homebrew from Northern Brewer called Kiwi Express. All NZ hops. And then threw in 2 oz of Nelson into the keg for good measure. Loving it. Just need to get the carbonation up a bit but otherwise it's great. I am thinking all grain next year if this keeps up.

Yep should be out shortly, it's on draft (or was) at the brewpub.

Awesome. Such a great beer.

Have you tried Lexical Gap from Pollyanna? Not as good as Heyoka but it's a pretty damn good beer.

I have and it is quite good. I have finally tried some hailstorm now that it's in bottles, but just their apricot sour. I have prairie madness in the fridge.

I wonder which Prairie that is. I am guessing Nelson sauvin if it is recent.

Bringing 3 Captain Serious to a draft tomorrow.

It doesn't say on the bottle but if it's Nelson I will be happy as hell.

I asked them about that because they rotate the hops. They plan on labeling which version it is soon. The base beer is really good but obviously the hop choice changes it. The citra, mosaic and nelson versions were really good to outstanding. Would like to see them try Amarillo or Mandarina.

Doing a walking beer tour tonight downtown Chicago. It's actually more like a pub crawl type thing, not sure how good the bars really are but they are ending at Emporium (and Arcade and bar). Then heading to Piece for dinner. Should be a good to great beer afternoon/night.
