What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

I've pretty much come to live off of Sierra Nevada 12 packs. $13.99 and every damn thing they make is delicious. Lately, I've just been plowing through the 4-Way IPA sampler and the Beer Camp Tropical IPA's. I'd be down with the Tropical IPA or Five Hop Experimental IPA going year round (though I don't see it happening).

They've pretty much cornered the market on a consumer like me, that wants good beer, but isn't going to fool with bottle shops or regularly pay $13+ a 6-pack. I keep a separate fridge that's now essentially devoted to everything Sierra Nevada is selling that I see in the store that's less than about 6 weeks old. Well, that and Coors Banquet for Sundays.

Apple Ale is good but definitely not my favorite NG beer.  One of the other ones I really just never fell in love with was Cranbic.  I wanted to love it.  I just didn't.
I don't like the Apple Ale at all. I think Enigma was probably my favorite, and I love Cranbic. Our local Costco carries NG now, so I always have the three large format beers in my house - Tart, Belgian Red and Serendipity.  I buy way more than I drink, give most of it away as house party gifts or thank you gifts for neighbors.

Costco has the new 4 way pack at $25 for a case (all 4 are stellar IPAs) and Beer Camp Tropical in 12 packs for about 13. Always very fresh at Costco due to their huge turnover. Those guys never cease to amaze with their ability to produce huge volumes of great quality beer at great prices. Easily the top brewery in the country for me.

Only Sam's here, no Costco, but I'll check to see if they have it.

I'm sure there's been one, but I really don't remember a 12-pack variety that's been all IPA's or hoppy beers. In my entire adult life, I've grown to avoid craft variety 12-packs because it seems there's always going to be some porter, fruity beer, some totally mismatched beer, or some crap they are obviously trying to clear inventory of included. But that damn 4-Way IPA is a godsend. They are all fantastic, and there's enough variety to justify being called, well, a variety pack.

Started tonight with a Double Dry Hopped Melcher Street by Trillium....the latest batch bottled 2/24/16 is probably my favorite IPA ever. Just insane. Its like OJ infused with hops. I crave bacon and eggs every time I drink it, even at a month old. Those guys have hops figured out.

Now halfway through a bomber of Toppling Goliath Pompeii IPA...Its good but its probably not fair to judge it after a Trillium IPA (which are the best in the business, IMO). Its got a tasty woody/mosaic thing going on. Definitely a tasty beer!

Deciding to decide whats next...maybe an Almanac sour courtesy of my GB Hawks.

Went ghetto cheap tonight. Drinking Kirkland Signature Light Beer(Costco). Might as well call it 4.3% ABV water. But it IS cheap.

If you drink Natty Light or Keystone Light, this beer is for you. If you live in a country with no potable water, this beer is for you. If you are an underage drinker with no other option, this beer is for you.

Did I mention its cheap? Apparently ingredients cost money. Back to the Duck Rabbit Barleywine Ale.

Go to bed
Scrounged up an old Celebration from the back of the fridge from my wedding 4 months ago.  Don't mind cracking this if I don't finish it.  I know we're all "have to drink IPAs within like 2 weeks" but it's not that bad.  Enough malt character to hold it up.

Yeah, Wing ####s with me. The Crank he sent me was legit one of the best IPAs I have ever had. However, he is always on the "Best Beer Ever" train, I don't know what to think about anything.

But what about Crank?  Or Julius?  Or....
Never ever said Julius. Crank at one time about a year ago. Since then I've tried a bunch in the top 20 or so...and yes its changed a few times....when you trade as much as I do, favorites constantly change.

I stick by my story!!! :banned:

Enjoying a Big Bad Baptist this Easter. Since I've found a place that has them very reasonably priced this has been my new go to. Great beer. Also going to give the Pirate BOMB! A try tonight.

Alright, I'll play ball.

This weekend had:

Kona: Pipeline

Breckenridge: Vanilla Porter

Smuttynose: Old Brown Dog

Mayflower: Porter

Smuttynose: Durty Mud Season Hoppy Brown

Long Trail: Double Bag

Jack Abbey: Copper Legend

All of these were a first try other than the Mayflower Porter which is brewed about 20 miles from home.

Welcome to the party.

At my usual motel in Bay Minette, Alabama, drinking a bottle of trillium Artaic DIPA...a guy threw this in on a trade because he "bought a bunch of bottles and Im not enjoying it"...there was a recent batch that a lot of people said has an off/onion flavor...none of that here, this is delicious, but its not the best DIPA Ive ever had.*

* Thats for you guys who are busting my balls for my alleged over-hyping of beers. ;)

Fan of the Kona. Haven't had it in awhile. Might have to revisit an old friend.

Only 4 bottles or 4 pallets as many people were doing?

Want to send me one? (Bottle)
Bottles, lol. You saw the insanity at the brewery, huh? I would be open to trading, but my friend and I split most of these beers so I can't send freebies.
