What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Given that his pedigree runs through Pipeworks and 18th Street, I'm expecting greatness.
Slapshot too! And yeah he's making some very good beer, his taproom should be open Octish and once that happens he'll have more beer available plus it will be 20 minutes from me so super easy to get tap only stuff.

Last night w/FBG Bakes who never posts here anymore -

Big Ditch Deep Cut DIPA

Big Ditch Golden Shovel

Big Ditch FC (Fantastically Crushable)

great stuff as always.  Golden Shovel was a new one for me.  Deep Cut may be the best beer currently being produced in Buffalo.

I'm really lucky that a place 10 minutes gets all of his stuff and Hubbard's Cave. Guy knows all those brewers personally, and it's a whole in the wall place. If I can get more than 2 want me to grab you one? Sometimes he limits and other times he doesn't.
Yeah, that would be cool.

Going to stock up on some Cumulus tonight I think. Been really enjoying that beer lately.

Looks like Mosaic Hero is out now too. Didn't enjoy Citra Hero as much as I thought I would but will get this one anyway. And some Mosaic Ninja.

I'm going to be all over these as well. Mosaic is my personal 2nd favorite variety of hop, right after (and very close to) Galaxy.

Not a huge Rev fan but I tried Citra and wasn't impressed....expect Mosaic to be the same. Meh.
I personally didn't hate the Citra (my brother had it in Boston of all places when I can't get it here in NWI LOL). I don't buy a ton of Revolution stuff, as if I'm hopping the border it's going to be for HA, Pipeworks, and Surly -- but they're not bad based on what I've had. And I effing love Mosaic, so I'll go get some.

Ended up with

Cumulus x 2

Navaja

PW Mosaic

I put back the Mosaic Hero and Raspberry Abduction since I also had about $100 of wine in the cart and was starting to feel bad, considering it's only night 1 of the 4 day weekend.

Special Sauce hit the Open Bottle about 40 min ago. Probably gone now.
My shop said they're going to limit, to what extent they aren't sure yet. This is one that always goes FAST!

I agree. Had the first one and it was great. I do have a Hey Ya laying around here somewhere I will open this weekend.
I've had a bunch but Special Sauce has eluded me, partly because he self distros and it's done whenever he's done bottling. So could be as early as 2pm or as late as 8pm.

Yeah he is....he's gone exclusive NE beer though right GB @Wingnut? I'm not sure he'd even trade with me anymore!
Got a little stormy in his neck of the woods/swamp yesterday but I figured he'd probably be fine, sitting on a makeshift raft made of Trillium and Treehouse cans if there was any flooding.

:lmao:

Im good, fellas. My area got a bunch of rain and thats about it. Still gonna rain on and off all day today. Got my Trill-House raft at the ready just in case. :banned:

Had a Trillium Headroom DIPA and Pier, an American wheat last night. Headroom was amazeballs and Pier was surprisingly good. It was the first non APA/IPA/DIPA Ive had form them. Very crisp and crushable.

Both of their stouts that I tried were top notch too, and their fruited sours (Soak) have drawn rave reviews. Not just hop rockstars there.

18th Street Sinister and Grapefruit Dead -- both on draft at our favorite local restaurant / watering hole, and both cheaper ($6 / pint) than buying directly at the brewery LOL. The GD is nothing short of great, unsurprisingly -- really wish it wasn't so ridiculously priced, my fridge would be full of it.

I forgot, I've had their Raspberry Soak and it was awesome. I've got a bottle of Wild Sinister Kid I've been saving for a share, can't wait to crack that one.

Was in Indiana yesterday and stopped at a Delock's. Got some 18th Street Devil in the Rye (guessing this is old but whatever....we'll see how the cans hold up) and Sex and Candy.

Sex and Candy is very good. Like Minds so far 0 for 2 for me. Archimedes and Hore Hound. Meh.

Agreed on Sex & Candy -- but what I'm really waiting for is Jade or Temporal Purgatory. Both so effing good...
Not sure I'll get those, it's hit or miss on what we see out here. One of those Like Minds was supposed to be a Brett IPA....not even close. No funk, no sour, no nothing just a meh IPA.

Grab either with no hesitation if you see 'em -- absolutely fan-freaking-tastic APAs. Never had any Like Minds, but I'll steer clear.

Fat Tire at a work party earlier.  Now Lord Hobo Boom Sauce (New England IPA).  Very juicy.  I get that some purists don't like this style, but if you like big, hoppy IPAs, I don't know how you can dislike it.  They're so damn good.

Both of those have been $11 at the brewery -- it seems to be tied to ABV, and they're both 5 - 6 % APAs.
They have Jade on tap now and it's in the 5-6% range if I recall. Last time I had it in cans it was over 7% which surprised me since it was typically lower ABV.

Boom Sauce x2....this beer isn't getting any fresher, might as well go big for the Alabama game.

It's funny, I was a little pissed at myself for buying the 4-pack at $13, but this beer is $7-8 when it pops up on tap every so often.  Funny how we justify paying so much at a bar yet kick ourselves for buying an expensive 4-pack.
